Messaging Classic - 4.4 Kitkat

Was a good app, but started showing intrusive ads (pop ups) after recent update. // Edit: you know very well that you did bait & switch with a misleading description "fixed bugs and optimized Android 8 experience". I downgraded to an older version (1.2). My only reason for using it is that my stock messaging app (OnePlus) has problems with emergency broadcasts. I don't want large pop-up ads when my cell provider informs me about my invoice.

I have installed it a few months ago... but it is wonderful app and has all best features that are required for messaging services. However, i exprience one downside from this app. It does not enable me to attach contacts to any messages directly from the app. Rather i insert contacts by copying it from my phone book. So, you the developers try to fix that! Anyways, i really enjoyed the app!!

It is what it says, but i unistalled due to, i think, it not being able to assign chosen sound notifications to senders, regardless if it was a phone sender or an email sender (email to sms/mms). Android new Messanger is AWFUL, & thus would be better, but i needed that essential feature. Google/Android developers are IDIOTS because they removed some of the most useful and essential features. such as removal of locking text and being able to remove multiple text, which this app is able to do.

I am having the same issue as other users are reporting after the latest update of not being able to send messages to multiple contacts at the same time. Single contacts work, but sending to multiples results in your message just saying "sending". If this isn't fixed soon, I will have to find another app. Its been a week since I responded to the support email given by the developers and still no feedback or response that my emails have been received.

Wanted a basic messaging app that could do MMS messages with a subject line like email. Some messaging apps that come with cellphones don't do that. This Messaging Classic app does. It's as basic as I wanted. Color or bubble and background setting customization would be a nice touch instead of white, but it works well so far! It imported my messages from my previous messaging app. So far I've installed it on LG Fiesta 2 and ZTE zFive G. Keep it Simple. :-) Thanks

This app does not seem to send or receive MMS pictures whereas this Messages app on my old phone did. Is the ability to send / receive MMS still possible in this version? Sent screen shots to the technical support team already. But unable to reach the technical team again for an update as any emails (4) sent results in a bounce back error - 550 Sender frequency limited. Thus unable to confirm status or how, if possible, to correct this back to the very original messaging.

Recently I downloaded the software and was pleased. However, went to send a message and software states "Message not sent" error. Click on the error and brings me to all my messages, but does not show which to the message with the error. Unable to clear. Forced stop and reboot Android, same same issue. I really hatr to lose all my messages to uninstall and reinstall program. Any suggestions?

Really love the simple feel of the app, no clutter or fancy stuff that the new messages applications gives users. One complaint though with the app, it does not support keyboard applications which offer the colored navigation bar feature which makes the keyboard look off. Make this small tweak and it'll be perfect.

Lately my phone sound for notifications hasn't been working correctly. If I change notification sound, it will work for a few messages, then quits after that and I have to look at messages for new ones

Second time Ive tried this app because I like the simple layout. But same problem this time as before. When I click on a photo in a text Ive received, a different photo from my file pops up. Weird! Am giving up & going back to my old androd message app. Yet another problem! Now I am not geting notifications of received messages!

I am in search for a messaging app that has option to send out a group text to 10 or more people at the same time, but is received by each person as a individual message. Not with the string of all the other phone numbers attached. My thought is this is an app feature, not a phone feature? Ex: Send message as a group or individual text. Help

Are you ever going to fix the bugs from the November 23rd update that broke our Messaging Classic app? Many of us can no longer receive group messages and on top of that we can no longer send and receive pictures. Please don't tell me to email your support email address. I've already done that and didn't receive a response. Please fix your app immediately.

I have always liked this app. However, this latest update has added a feature that's driving me crazy. It now questions you every single time you exit the app.. it asks are you sure you want to exit. I cant find a way to turn that off and its Sooooo annoying I may well abandon this app and use a different one for my frequent texting.

BLAND AND NONFUNCTIONAL The app used to work as a normal messaging app. A few updates ago it became useless as you cannot open mms. They've updated the app, but have failed to fix this. They've not enhanced this app for years, and I only use it because it is forced upon the users of "Private Space". I'd give it one star, but it does function for basic messaging.

Not getting messages for several days and some messages I send say sending for days until I turn phone off and back on then sometimes the send. In a group text I sent a message June 7 and it finally posted on June 10 and 15 other texts in the conversation also came through. I hope there is something to do to fix this, it's the closest app to the one that came with the phone and disappeared one day

it just updated. the update includes advertising or you can opt out by paying a monthly fee. Was advertised as free and the apps name misleads you into believing this is the original android messenger. fraud. avoid. In reply to the developer. I understand your need for revenue. I dont agree that you shoukd mislead people into downloading you ap by describing it as "classic" and "free". if you are going to run ads your description should say so up front and if you are going to charge fees say so.

Nostalgic! Ecstatic! I have downloaded other apps in the past for the purposes of enjoying messaging like I used to with the old android stock SMS app and none came even close till I saw this! The most exciting part of this app for me is its ability to access SMS stored in SIM Cards and copying it to phone, as I backed up important messages in my SIM and on changing my phone, those messages were trapped, until I saw this app. Thank you for saving me from going crazy! You rock!

is this app being supported? Would you please give me the courtesy of a response? Are you updating this app? I have sent several emails and received no responses. The app, among other things, does not download pictures and certain other texts. I only continue to use it because I use your other product - PrivateSpace. Private Space has problems too. You don't respond to emails You said I should contact you by email. I have four times and received no response. What about PrivateSpace?

I have used this app for years and really liked it. I recently updated as I wasnt receiving emojis on messages anymore. what a mistake! The ads are super obtrusive and cover half the screen! I'll be looking for an alternative.

It a little chunky but works with T-mobile. I am using my own phone on TMobile since phones don't have head phone jack or support native Andriod Pie and update are painfilly slow. PIe 9.0 MMS messaging does not work with T-Mobile. T-mobile does not support RCS on Andriod One phone or Pixel as of 7/10/2019. Yes T-Mobile has been ignoring the problem. This software works.

Same problem as everyone else here. Work great until the update now cannot send mms text. Cannot send pics and/or receive. Cannot send group texts. Need help this app is useless until fix. Why where updates made and not tested before pushed. I want the old rev back it was awsome Thanks

Awful since last update. Now only uses default alert which can barely be heard - even though it is set to my own alert sound. And also no longer showing notification that I have received a message. No use!! Now changing to one that works.

Does not work well with the private My Messages app. Notifications are hit or miss whether they show up or not. I'm also getting delayed messages or failed messages when not using the My Messages app and just using regular SMS through this Classic SMS app. Before the Feb 15th update hit my phone, the two worked flawlessly together.

I tried it because the stock message app on my phone was annoying and I thought I was unhappy whith it , until I downloaded message classic . Now that was a whorable expierance wen answering a text at the same time you receive a text the text your making gets lost causing you to start over . It creates back in forth conversations that you can't answer the person you texting . I give it a thumbs down

the recent updates made it sluggish and the ads are taking more room in the pop up notification and normal view. i know ads have to exist, but sure it was better before. also it keeps my phone "awake" and runs in the background. unfortunately i have to continue with it. i wouldn t recommend it to anyone now.

everytime I open the app it has a pop up saying "Message not sent", everytime I type a text it says"message not sent", everytime I receive a text it says"message not sent". I force stopped, cleared cache, uninstalled app, reinstalled app, and restarted my phone with no solution. 😒

For some reason I can no longer receive messages as of about 10 days ago. I can still send messages. Spent over an hour on the phone with Verizon to troubleshoot but no luck. They suggested a factory reset.
