Requirements
• Requires that Messenger be installed. This application is not for use with other SMS applications.
• Requires that DashClock or another application which consumed Dashclock extensions be installed.
• The app is only fully tested and guaranteed to work with Dashclock.
• Requires permission to read SMS and MMS messages for display of received messages.
• Requires permission to read contacts for display of names of message senders.

It worked great until a recent Messenger app update. Now unread count never resets
Uninstalled. Would have said 5 starts after updating it keeps saying "Android Messages extension for Dashclock has stopped" Fix in update and you'll get 5 stars Alcatel Pixi 4 6" 3G 8050E
If you run Chronus and use Android Messages app you should have this app. Really an excellent app and many thanks to the developer!
The app works with a charm. It's really effective having a 'Messenger' dedicated extension, but it would be great if the archived messages stop showing as a part of the unread count. For the rest great work and its a definate 5star if my problem is addressed.
Love it. Since recent Messenger update though it keeps saying I have unread messages even though I've read them. The number it shows increases with each new message I get.
Love it, but now that Google has updated the "default"messenging app, new messages do not clear after being read.
App is awsome. I just wanted to know what icon pack u are using on the screenshots here with live tiles that show new messges on app's icon
I loved how I could change my default text messenger on my Galaxy S III from the ugly default TouchWiz messenger to the Google one from the play store, and now I can get notifications from the Google messenger instead of the default one on my Dashclock. This pretty much perfects my Dashclock setup. Thanks for making it!
It simply does not work. Message notifications constantly appear even when you don't have new messages.
Read messages don't disappear from the main screen. I read the SMS but it is still marked as unread on the screen.
Love this extension and have been using it for as long as I can remember. However, since Messenger became Messages it won't update once I've read my message. I have to open my other SMS app (which I can't uninstall - thanks Huawei) and read the message there. Please can you fix this?

I like this a lot, it works really well but my group messages don't show up because they're MMS. Make that work and this app is a 5/5!!!
Really liking how it works and seems to work just as described.
Since the Messenger update, messages are being displayed as being unread.
This shows text messages that I have already read. Use DashNotifier instead.

This app is a great upgrade to dashclocks message extension. Would be 5 stars if it worked with MMS and there was a way to hide it on your app list.

Since the last upgrade the all continuously force closers over and over and over again. Uninstalling.
Nexus 6... Force closes when receiving a text... A lot!
Just what I needed! Appreciate the dev making this extension. I started using Google Messenger and the default dashclock SMS widget wasn't quite cutting it
The app is broke since Google Messenger changed its name to Android Messages. I hope they can fix it
It's fine if you only want it to show up for SMS messages, but if you need both SMS and MMS to be notified for, you'll need to look elsewhere.
Not showing up in chronus extensions. Otherwise great extension.
Was working fine before the branding alignment update but now crashes on run and settings. Use in Dashclock and Chronus DayDream mode (Samsung GN3, lollipop) UPDATE: perhaps in some cases, need to uninstall and reinstall. Working fine again.
