I go with Messenger Lite to save space. Normally, it's a great app. But for some reason, when I send pictures, I don't get to see the photo. All I see is a text line that I can hold down on and download from there. And this issue is unique to my tablet. Neither of my phones do this, and everyone else can see the pictures just fine.
I get that this app is not a priority for Facebook but it was always buggy and underdeveloped. Now they made an update where they slightly changed the UI and it feels as of I'm browsing the chat through the Facebook lite app, which I don't like. On top of that, I stopped getting any notifications and I there's no option to send voice messages anymore. Talking about a step back!
I like it i really do but I can not sign out sending pics and messages are excellent conected to wifi with data it takes very very long! And wont get any video calls and chats will come too late! It takes a while i mean i like the app but its a bit slow specially with data... And it says i missed a video call when i never got it because its slow....
The call quality is quite a bit down. And it would have been better if we can see stories in this lite version. And have an dark mode... And more, there is no sound during the chatting... It feels like nothing. I hope you can fix this and add some features like this. Then it will be very great...
I haven't been liking the messenger lite app lately, because here lately when people send me videos I can't get no sound from the video on my phone. I don't understand it. I updated the messenger lite app and I started hearing sound for a little while, but eventually it went back to no sound. I wish some kind of way the sound would come back on the videos.
Broken: major notification problems. No dark mode. No search. Notifications sometimes work, sometimes not. Extremely frustrating! No dark mode in 2022? Pathetic. No search function! Meta is a multi-billion dollar company, but they can't add such a basic and essential feature?
Garbage. I have a Facebook business page and this app is supposed to switch accounts from my persoal to business but it doesn't work. It used to work but as with everything with Facebook, every new update makes the experience of using what's been updated a more unpleasant one.
✨Not doing some basic stuff... This app USE TO BE a great alternative to the regular messenger app. But lately, I can't even do BASIC things like view pics & vids( I can't see my grandchildrens pics/vids that they send me anymore😭)...I don't have much space to work with, so this USE TO BE a great option...NOT any more👎👎PLEASE FIX THIS. ✨EDIT: I looked at the regular(original) messenger app reviews...and people are STILL having major issues.😞
Switched back to regular messenger. No dark mode, video playback is slow and wonky. A bit too stripped down. Perfect for luddite boomers who choose not to understand anything beyond a calculator and maybe email.
The app is great because it occupies less storage than the messenger app. I can also send documents (pdf, docs, epub). However, I can't download those files. Whenever I try to download it, it always say "preparing for download", but when I go to my download manager, it's not there. It's not happening. Please fix this. 😢
I can't connect anymore and the feature to connect to a facebook account provided you already logged in to an app in the Meta Verse is not working. Otherwise, Messenger without ads and other superfluous features. 10/10 would recommend to any other person with issues focusing on stuff like adhd me.
This is a great app if you need extra room on your phone, and still want to reach people in a mostly great way. A few less perks, but still able to give you more space on your phone and let you reach people in beautiful ways... Including photos, and the many of the usual benefits.
Why there is no option to reply someone's message? Why there is no option to give audio and video call to any group in messenger lite? Why there is no option of dark mode? It is not possible to send a good kind of sticker to anyone? It is not good to have very few stickers. Longer videos cannot be sent? please solved this problem.....
was disappointed because whenever I tried to send a file the app will say "unable to send file", and when I updated it to this lastest version, the option of sending documents(file) was gone. now I am disappointed twice.
I used to love this App. It was small and did what I needed it to. Today when I tried to load it I kept getting a popup that says "We recommend Messenger, This phone has the power and performance to run the Messenger app. We think you'll get a better experience if you use it instead." I can not get to the Lite app AT ALL. If I wanted the full size Messenger app I would have installed the dayem full size app. Even if I go to Messenger via the website to check my messages it now brings me back to that stupid full page info block. NOT HAPPY.
I can't download a file. It only says preparing to download. But its not downloading. Also before if I download an image, and if i tap it again, it will say it has been downloaded, but today, you can download it even twice, or thrice, though it exists on your downloaded image. I like the app, but sometimes it is loading. But its ok, the 1st problem is my 1st priority. If only it can be resolve.
It's really helpful but there is something missing. Add some additional features; add dark mood which keeps protect our eyes. But it's not bad. If you've storage problems, it's better than messager
There's a bug that is causing it to not work. Please fix. It's so much easier using lite. I updated and reinstalled. Thank you in advance. Will change rating when fixed
It's great! In my device, the original Messenger won't work properly. But this does! The reason I only gave five stars, is because I can't see the chats that I put in the Archive, even though there's an option to put a chat in Archive. Also, can't you put the ability to also put the app in dark/light mode? But all in all, it's great, like I said.
Fast,and data efficient but the loader on top makes it look like it's loading from a browser.....it would be nice if it were replaced with an ease-out transition....dark mode would also be a great fit .... Kudos to the developers and keep up the great work.
Everything is fine but the file sending. I just hope that when you send a file, the file name won't be change into something "local_media..." since students usually send their academic outputs using messenger lite and teachers are having problem on checking their output.
Loved it for years, but the latest update is horrible. Feels like a web ui from the late 90s. Weird font scaling, UI cut at edges, scrolling effectively removed, and awkward transitions. A massive downgrade... Don't know why they did it, other than to maybe make people stop using it.
Group chats no longer usable because the name and profile picture don't show up next to the message anymore so I can't see who sent what message. Also media that I send or is sent to me doesn't load anymore, only text of the file name or nothing at all. I have to log in to Facebook on my computer to look at anything.
The app is good as it is lightweight and doesn't take up much space of your phone. It is helpful especially to those people like me, who does not have much internal space on their phone. I just hope that this app has also the delete and chat head function like the original one.
It is said that this is a lightweight app and uses less from your storage but it doesn't. Messenger Lite actually takes up more space than the original Messenger app. This app took up 1GB of my storage when I checked file storage and even on settings. This app is only light when you download it. I only used this to send files easily on my private messages but they will all be labeled as "local media blahblah numbers." I would rather choose to suffer sending on the web than this SCAM APP. TRASH!!
Too bad it's not on par with the regular messenger. Messgr lite does not have the video conference/call "easy tap to join" button. I just experience it minutes ago and it's so annoying that i need to move from msngr lite to the regular one just to join a video call. It's very disapointing
There is no dark mode, yet this app claims to be a battery saver? Considering that dark mode has been a major functionality request on the vast, incredibly vast number of apps out there for more than 5 years, it seems a slap in the face when dark mode isn't automatically a feature in an app. Especially one that many users stare at for countless hours. Even more so when the apps developers use "energy saving" as major selling point.
I prefer the light version a lot. There's too many useless things in the real version. However 2 very important features are missing from the real application. 1. Can't tag people using @ in group chats. This would be extremely useful even in the light edition. 2. Can't reply to messages or see that some messages are replies to other messages. This is a little weird because everyone else sees the reply if they use the real version, so this feels like a must imo. Hope to see these someday!
