Metal Detector is in the 3rd set of the Smart Tools collection (EMF detector, ghost detector).Metal Detector app uses your devices magnetic sensor to measure magnetic field values and turns any Android into a real metal detector. Data is displayed in µT (micro Testla). 1µT = 10mG (milli Gauss). The magnetic field in nature ranges from 25 to 65 µT (0.25 to 0.65 G). Any higher measurement is an indication of metal in the area. When there is metal in the area, magnetic field increases. App works best detecting ferromagnetic materials, such as iron and can’t detect non-ferromagnetic materials such as aluminum.The magnetic field level (EMF) in nature is about 49μT(micro tesla) or 490mG(milli gauss); 1μT = 10mG. If any metal is near, the value of magnetic field will increase.Usage is simple: Open the app, and move it around. The magnetic field level will constantly fluctuate. That's it! You can find electrical wires in the walls (like a stud finder) and iron pipes in the ground.The accuracy depends entirely on the magnetic sensor (magnetometer) in your device. Note that it is affected by electronic equipment (TV, PC, etc.) due to electromagnetic waves.When the app does not work properly, it means that your phone's sensors are damaged, broken or non-existent. To initialize the sensors, point your phone up towards the sky and move it in a figure 8 pattern.Metal detector cannot detect gold, silver and coins made by copper. They are classified as non-ferrous that has no magnetic field.Ghost hunters also use Metal Detectors for ghost detection as they claim that ghosts have an influence on magnetic fields.
