Metal for Facebook & Twitter

UI for dark themes is horrible. It's like the developer didn't even test it before releasing. Some text is white on a white background! Can't select any text for copy/paste. Newsfeed scrolling constantly shows a group of the same posts over and over again. Lots of issues. Very disappointing.

Using this for Twitter exclusively. I honestly like it for the most part but it has a fatal flaw that just gets in the way too much: you can pull down to refresh on any screen (even pictures) and it will refresh everything, even your homepage. If you were scrolling up a thread and hit the top too fast, now you're back at the bottom. Want to go back to your main feed? You're gonna start back at the top and lose your place. It prevents zooming in and scrolling up on pictures too. Really bad design

Waaaay too keen to refresh when you scroll up. If you're editing a post, be prepared to lose it without warning as you try to scroll to the top of the text you've entered, only to be summarily redirected to a blank page because the app thought you wanted to refresh. The editing box itself also needs to be twice the size. Apart from that it's a good app.

I never leave reviews for things but I will for this app. When the app is working perfect its great and one of the best Facebook app alternatives. I love it! Less invasive and takes up less memory. But....when this app acts up, its barely functional and doesn't work very smoothly at all. It wasnt't working too well for several months, and now it started working perfect again. Not sure what happened. Giving it 4 out of 5 stars for being non-functional for so long and having so many bugs at times. Otherwise it would've deserves 5 stars. Conclusion: Get it ans if its working well for you then stick with it. If not, then look for something that works better without any bugs or glitches. This is one of my favorite apps now that its working well again.

This is a good alternative to the Facebook app. That being said, there's too many little issues to recommend it. The absolute worst has to be when you're writing a post and you want to scroll up to check what you wrote. It makes the page refresh back to the newsfeed and you lose everything you've just done. It does this everywhere and it's by far the most frustrating thing. The other is when you're scrolling and tap the screen to keep scrolling, it'll act like you hit the like or share buttons

I was so hopeful this app would replace Facebook, messenger and Twitter apps and still function smoothly. It crashes on some posts I'm creating. I have to do them again and then it crashes again closing that page. Unacceptable! Well so far it doesn't upload photos correctly, doesn't post my posts by mistake or whatever and I can only post one photo at a time in albums. Oh that's not good because Facebook app lets you upload 30 photos at a time. I won't tolerate that feature for long. WHERE'S FACEBOOK LIVE? I haven't seen the GIF feature which I used quite often. Twitter I couldn't upload a photo. I am not sure if it uses less battery, data or storage yet but still willing to try. Will use Facebook desktop site direct link for uploading photos & posting gifs. Make some improvements and I will increase the rating. I have asked others to give your app a try. Thanks for your efforts I think it has continued potential.

!!Insecure!! I attempted to contact the developer some time ago but have heard nothing back nor seen any updated version. Password lock simply doesn't work in this 'redesign', you can hit cancel, then go straight back into the app and it won't ask for a password. I believe this is occurring in the redesign due to how they implemented a timer feature for the lock. They've had long enough to investigate, now you know how insecure it is and how to bypass the password lock.

It's way more buggy version 9.0, maybe partly because FB keeps changing too. But none of the photos I save actually save. It shows "saved to downloads" but is absolutely nowhere to be found. Saving on a browser still works so I don't know what you developers broke? And now the app jumps all over the place while navigating between pages and scrolling, and sometimes the reaction buttons don't pop up. The header on every screen except the home screen blocks out the icon bar on top and the menu button, so I can't share the page or anything. It's either FB and/or the developer fell off the wagon, but since it works better in the browser, it might be time to ditch this thing.

Not updated in over a year. So it's worthless since they won't update it. Doesn't save pictures, says it does but they are nowhere on my phone. Also doesn't share webpages half the time, posts just disappear. Pictures in feed are not full screen, there's white space on both sides. No ability to search your profile. Needs work, has potential but really in beta stage. Use at own risk.

Misses notifications sometimes. Someone liked and commented on something I commented on and I wasnt notified. Also, when using the dark theme, cant easily see options at the top like notifications and friend requests. Buttons are completely invisible in AMOLED mode or whatever its called; couldn't use it. search bar straight up doesnt work. I do like that it saves battery and uses less space. Will continue using it for that, but those issues above are frusterating.

This "app" is nothing more than a web browser that simply displays the Facebook and Twitter web sites, with a few customizable features such as changing the display colors and keeping bookmarks. If that's all you want (and don't want to use an actual Web browser instead), then it would be acceptable...if it wasn't for a few critical bugs that make it unusable: Facebook photo posting doesn't work, Twitter sharing doesn't work from any app, Facebook sharing doesn't work in 90% of other apps (either shows a blank screen, no "share" button", or gives a "href should represent a valid URL error"). Clearly the developers are having trouble keeping up with all the changes that Facebook and Twitter make to their various web site versions, and that's why random features will continuously break.

Used to love and recommend it, but about to uninstall. I'm also frequently experiencing the bug where you type a long FB post and only a fragment gets submitted. Hugely frustrating. It also can't handle live streams, and responding to friend requests is harder than the native FB app. So I think it's time to say thanks for the memories, but I need a more reliable app.

No updates in years. Can't see friend requests anymore. Slow. Have to click on comments to navigate group of pictures. Crashes on trying to download linked pictures. Never did notify of messages. Don't even try to access Facebook site settings. Doesn't update anything including chats without a manual refresh, except when you go back to feed and then totally refreshes where those other posts are removed as seen (they weren't). Anyone still using this needs to quit!!! There are better now.

I have enjoyed this app for a while, I appreciate the minimalist approach + power saving....but it is in bad need of an update. It has this bug where whenever I try to post a comment, only part of the comment is sent, while the rest is cropped off. This bug is specific to this app alone as accessing facebook through the mobile browser doesn't have this issue. To developers, pls contact me, I'd love to help sort it out.

Terrible stability. Search window doesn't work without showing "Page could not be loaded", feed view snaps back to the top spontaneously on a consistent basis, like/reaction windows won't work often, the keyboard does not automatically pop up when entering text sometimes, and other GUI issues. In my eyes this app needs serious improvement.

This app used to be great. It's not well supported and has gotten worse over time. You need to close and reopen the app to see new messages people send you most of the time. It will duplicate messages you send, there's no effective way to view marketplace, there are no notifications, etc

Great alternative to Facebook Lite app, had to use this on a friend's recommendation because it refused to work via wi-fi, and I love it! The app is very non-intrusive and perfect for people like me that use social media to stay in touch with a small groups of friends and family without needing to check their phone constantly.

Works....kind of. UI in dark mode is useless, at least for messenger. All my text is visable, sent text is not. Messenger notifications dont work. Messenger has no option to update like a pull down and it automatically refreshes (have to kill app and reload), so unless you have an active conversation on your screen, you won't be updated. Again notifications don't work, so whats the point of this app. The UI for your wall works nicely though. Galaxy S9+

UPDATE: Appears, at this time, to be abandonware. Slow (taking multiple seconds BEFORE loading / refreshing / posting a status update or comment. Often times, only the first word, of a status update or comment, will post. Does nothing, to deter Fb, from listening through your phone, for ad targeting. At this point, aggravating and mostly useless.

had quit the platform but decided to sign up again to keep up with friends since it is really hard to convince people to use something else to talk, happy this is still around. Can be a lil slow, but knowing how apps like these work that's going to happen, just learn patience for like .8 seconds longer. You browse Facebook on it. I mean, does what it's supposed to without the clunkiness. Simple as it should be, gg

Clean beautiful layout everything going well. Few things noticed: Facebook search shows no page found layout at first until u do a search then it shows result. Facebook should have inside video play inside the post like twitter opening the full post should be in same page and doesnt take me to another one with poor adjustments. When u want to view more options for a post there is no copy link option which is needed. video download would be nice i dont know if its available in premium.

I use this app alot and have done for years but im about to look for an alternative since bugs are never fixed. Firstly when get a tag notification - clicking on it doesn't take you to the comment but to the top of post so its impossible to find your tag if it's a big public post. Secondly, vieiwing and saving images is just terrible in every way (youll see what i mean). The "most recent" news feed button isnt on front page and somwtimes broken. Never see posts from friends any more either.

Doesn't seem to be working properly these days. I can't see messages ("The link you followed may be broken, or the page may have been removed.") Also, trying to exit from Metal is almost impossible. Have to repeatedly hit the back button, maybe 20 or 30 times.

I like the concept but the integration is getting worse with every update. Searching is downright impossible, viewing photos is a miss most of the time and scrolling through them is a bad experience.

I've used several FB alternative apps before and i gotta say... this one is the fastest of all of them. however, two things that really annoys me with this: downloading videos isn't an option and whenever i try searching for anything it gives an error mo connection. it's not my internet and to prove that I went to my browser and visit the FB website and everything worked

So far runs fine. I haven't measured battery saving. It would be nice to be able to use in power save mode. Interface tweaks for the future should be better integration into Marketplace and chat. Other than those, it offers a clean and natural UEX.

I get no notifications. Notifications don't come through until I randomly decide to go to the app. By then, it's too late. Notifications are supposed to let you know if you need to go to the app for something. I've had Metal for over a year and it has ALWAYS been a problem. Please fix! Thanks.
