Works well for what it is, I main use it for Share functionality when articles don't have a Facebook share button, or YouTube videos. It's definitely time for some updates though... Hasn't been updated in almost 4 years. Hopefully it's not abandoned by the dev. Options to hide either elements of the site, like Stories section or types of posts, similar to FB Purity Chrome extension.

Overall, the app is disappointing. Navigation is awkward and inconsistent. If I hit the "wrong" back arrow (and the wrong arrow VARIES), I'm completely out of the page, often with no way to return as the feed has already moved on. Want to open a group of pictures? Good luck. I regret paying for the app and I don't recommend you pay for it. I thought I was supporting someone who would support the app. My mistake.

Still has a problem opening photos in posts. For example, in a post there is a collection of 15 photos. You press the one that has a number on it (which means this should open whole collection), and it opens just one title photo, others are unavailable. This problem drags for some time. I remember that people complained about this issue a year ago, and it suppose to be fixed, but it didn't, at least for me. Developers stopped supporting it. You can find similar and functional apps out there.

I really liked this app at first because it mimics the desktop version of Facebook and I can check my inbox without needing to download that messenger app. But there are a few things I discovered. For starters if you pay for the pro version, nothing changes. There are no enhanced features for the money. Secondly I am unable to upload pictures in comment threads. This is annoying and gets in the way of the social media experience.

Loved this app until development stopped.. Don't get me wrong, it's still a decent app for simple Facebook browsing, but if you're looking for security, reliable notifications, or continued development and bug fixes, look elsewhere. Also, keep in mind that the fingerprint authentication is complety busted and can easily be bypassed, so don't rely on it. Emails to the dev went unanswered and as the app hasn't been updated in over a year, I can only assume it's not being maintained.

Don't buy the pro version.I've been using this for a long time and the app in general is fine. However I got the Pro version and there is no difference. In fact the are a few bugs, which i have contacted the developer with but no response at all, nothing. So lack of support, Pro version cost money with no extra benefit, stick with the free one.

Bought this for the lightweight. But it looks like this app has been abandoned. Even I am a very occasional user of FB, this app seems to be confusing now. The ads blocker doesn't work (sponsor app is showling). When I scroll past a few posts, and refresh then suddenly Metal pro just displays an empty feed. The navigation to the comment of a photo album is confusing.

Im using as a Facebook app replacement. It needs ability to block ads. Dark mode is broken, background of stories is solid white. It would be nice if we could hide the stories altogether. The app feels like it has been abandoned for a while, I hope the developer finds passion into this project again to update it. Also, I bet Facebook has done no favors. Seems every change they have made for the last 6 years made their website worse.

Best alternate Facebook app! If you are looking for a app for Facebook that that doesn't drag down your tablet or phone and is real easy to use with no ads then this is the one to bet. I've used this app for a real long time and can say it really works well better than the original app of Facebook. There are two versions of this a free version and a paid version. Get the paid version if you want no ads and want the full experience.

Great, but needs work. A battery and data friendly alternative to the two main social media apps. Allows both feed and messaging for fb but it can be slightly more difficult to use and certain advanced features (that don't really matter in regards to keeping in touch on the go) don't work as simply.

This app is great for the basics of FB, but it is missing all the new features/apps added to FB: Live videos, Avatar, and plenty of others that I'm not even aware exist. But there is one feature that has actually been REMOVED, and it frustrates me. Where is the "see translation" button for posts and comments written in a different language?! I haven't been able to read any posts from my friends in other countries. Please bring it back!

This used to be a great application. I loved having an alternative to Facebook app, but the lack of updates in over a year has taken a large toll. It is still adequate but the menu buttons don't seem to work consistently - now only take me to 'back on this day' rather than the menu to get to events, groups, etc. Many other functions lacking now too for any smooth use. Overall, I can't further recommend this unless new updates come through to make it smooth to use again, especially the paid app.

I really want to rate this app higher but it's really frustrating navigating Facebook with it especially when going to marketplace. For some reason, whenever I check out a post on marketplace, when I try to go back to the main listing page, it takes me back to the main FB page, why? It's really annoying and for a paid app, it's inexcusable.

sometimes the app updates the newsfeed by itself and throws you out of what you've been reading. not that handy. the rest is great. And now, in 2020, the app obviously needs an update: FB changed the web interface a lot and these changes are not followed up. Also the messages have just stopped working

Wish I didn't buy pro. This app has not been updated in nearly three years(June 7th 2018)....safe to say it is abandonware now and it shows, as various little glitches have shown up. Used to be awesome, though. A nice alternative to the official FB app.

Nay. L. Oct 29, 2018

It's functional and probably worth it if you don't have heavy Facebook usage. It's a bit clunky though and I can't seem to see how to go live with it which means it doesn't have "my favourite feature" as advertised. Undecided if I will keep it.

T. L. Oct 18, 2020

Update: Now, the app won't let me scroll thru my direct messages in Twitter. I can only see the most recent message, and when I try to scroll to older messages, the page refreshes. So can I miss entire conversations, or I can download the Twitter app or use Twitter in my browser, which defeats the whole purpose of this app. Please fix! Previous: So far so good. I liked this app well enough to upgrade to the pro version, which is something I rarely do.

I rarely use Facebook anymore. I would love to browse FB marketplace on it at the very least but it's the most frustrating thing the world to use for it. Not enough words to describe what's wrong, just BAD.

Bil. C. Dec 19, 2018

What in the world is the obnoxious and large emoji bar that randomly seems to pop up when clicking on a post/status....BE GONE. Other than that stellar work lads. Saves battery, has a clean interface, works about 90% of the time.

Edw. N. Oct 5, 2019

Recent bug that's very frustrating where the top right three dots only displays "On This Day" page instead of Shortcuts, Groups, Events etc. Clearing cache doesn't resolve it, pressing back just goes back to main page. No way to refresh. Once this is resolved, I'll add a star.

Jas. C. Sep 24, 2019

App worked great until upgrading my device to Android 10 / Q. After upgrade, app crashes when trying to download an image. Throws error java.lang.IllegalArgumentException with source as readExceptionFromParcel. Error reporting method in app description is Google Plus which has been shuttered. Emailed Dev with error instead over a month ago (as of Sep 23 2019). App last updated in June 2018. Not sure if it's abandoned or not.

Anu. K. Aug 24, 2019

I like the speed and responsiveness of the UI but there are so many features that just don't work as intended. I had to download Facebook lite anyway which defeats the purpose of having this app. Going to have to uninstall this even though I paid for it.

Adv. S. May 9, 2019

Great overall with 2 exceptions. The ll down to refresh is obnoxious and way too sensitive. also when scrolling to the side on some areas in FB it tries to scroll to the next window. maybe ditch pull to refresh and add a refresh button. otherwise this app is very nice.

Lou. K. Nov 14, 2020

It's ok, but since it wraps Facebook's own web interface it need occasional updates to keep up with changes. Sadly it's been neglected by its developer for 2.5 years and counting. There are other better supported Facebook privacy wrappers.

And. T. May 1, 2022

Quite good. Definitely better than FB web and lighter than full app, but occasional render issues with dark theme, galleries, etc. Hopeful for improvements.

Every time I log into Facebook with this app, Facebook locks my account and forces me to go through a time consuming security procedure. What's the problem?? Also, as another reviewer mentioned, it keeps automatically refreshing and kicking you out of what you're reading. The only reason I keep this app is because it's the only app that allows me to share from YouTube or other third party sources directly to Facebook, as their own Lite app does not allow this functionality.
