I don't know what happened to my old review, but here's my answer to their reply: I understand ads are essential, and I'm not complaining about ads in general. I'm complaining abouts ads that go full screen and make the app unusable. If the solution to this is purchasing in-app, I'll gladly use one of the many other free services with reasonable ads and comparable accuracy
This app is extremely frustrating to use if you are a Meteoblue user with an iPhone and an Android tablet. I already pay for TWO subs - on the desktop and the iPhone app. As if having to pay twice wasn't enough, the Android app, despite looking horrible on a tablet, not supporting landscape mode and not supporting login to sync favourites, wants me to pay a THIRD premium price in order to remove ads. They REALLY need to unify their subscription model and work on the Android app.
I really used to like it. And i didn't complain about the amount of ads. But when they use ads that use full blast audio that is absolut a no go. And the inaccurate forecast doesn't justify the price. Removed
I recently discovered meteoblue on my desktop browser and enjoy the richness of info provided which kept me coming back. When I learned there was a mobile app, I had to try it out. Honestly, it's one of the better meteorology apps on the Play Store and so worth the reasonable yearly subscription which I paid. To be fair, it is missing some features (e.g., weather alerts issued by my government weather office) but my other weather apps have that covered since all apps can't do everything.
It used to be great until they increased the price of the ad free version. Granted, they added new features that were unwanted. I wish they had more than one tier of premium. Works great with ad blocker. It's a true shame because I would love to support the devs but the price increase by 300% is just too much to look passed.
4 stars beacuse of the background photos: aome of them make the text hard to read. I would preffer a simple color that doesn't change. All that eye candy is actually eye strain.
No better than any free weather app. Weather constantly ends up 5 degrees off the forecast and the widget doesn't update properly.
The most detailed weather information (model comparisons and maps) of ANY app. Not just for the person who wants to know the immediate weather. This app provides greater nuance - if you want it - so that you can truly take into account the complexity of weather event probability.
Still getting ads. I don't mind paying 2.99 for no ads. Except I'm still getting ads. After paying I no longer see the big full page game ads that used to take over the screen. But there is still an annoying Google ad banner at the bottom , moving and changing and causing distraction all the time. Your publicity says clearly "no ads in the app" Am I missing something??
Reply to meteoblue AG regarding the annoying cookies: I want to Agree or disagree once to storing cookies, not every time I start the app. I am OK with ads, but if I want to set the app to show less relevant ads, I want to set it once and remember my option permanently and not being asked and annoyed every day with the dialog titled "About cookies".
This is such a great app, however is spoiled with this experience & leaves a bad tastte. I paid for this app so that i don't have to receive advertising and yet it keeps on giving me adds I contacted meteoblue admin. I restarted my phone as suggested & it stopped for a while but is starting with ads again. Please forbid Google to place ads if its a paid app🙏
The app is fine. The graphics are cool and the forecast is generally accurate. I don't like the fact you can't receive upcoming maps, radar , and satellite of weather to come. I haven't found any settings to correct it. I don't understand the excitement for seeing the previous 24 hours.
Update: Awesome for weather forecasting! This is great for planning weather related activities. For my astronomy hobby, Meteoblue, will forecast cloud cover, giving me the ability to plan nighttime viewing sessions days in advance. Update #3... Previously I noted that the price increase is a deal breaker... however after using several other apps, I'm going to reinstall this one because MeteoBlue is just that much better than the others and the subscription is a lot less. I'm giving back the 5⭐'s
It dosent make sens to increase the price 300% , i used this app for many years and right now i just unsubscribed, They dosent care for their costumer's, because if they care , they will create diferent subscription plans to be flexible (i use 4 diferent application, and the only reason why meteoblue was installed in my phone is that the only accurate feature was only cloud/fog, nothing is changed in years for the weather forecast, it mean that it isnt accurate).... Rip meteoblue...
Widget doesn't work anymore, although I bought the app. New version is way worse than the old one.
Not at all accurate. I understand that the weather is difficult to predict but day after day this App shows sun when I am sitting in a tremendous thunder storm again. With hail, yet the radar and satellite show there is NO rain!! App shows rain at 5pm it is now 2pm and it is coming down in buckets, in fact one of the heaviest rain storms we have had this season.
The best weather app hands down Edit: A year and a half later and I still stand by this. I keep finding new functionality and it's got everything I didn't know I wanted. Amazing.
An excellent app, but with an unreasonable annual subscription increase which led me to cancel.
New version with picture in the background makes the app very unclear.
I like the app. Sadly there was a feature that used to work and since about half a year ago it was changed through an update. In the maps view the arrows to the left and to the right of the timeline did/do three hours steps. Manually I could have gone in one hour steps. That is not possible anymore. I would really like that feature back in the app (especially for the clouds and precipitation map). I'm using the app on a Samsung Galaxy S9
Weather station forecast list app, but it doesn't have as many as Windy. It also has cloud and rain radar, which works as a overlay layer over a standard map. Basic when compared to Windy, which uses an in-house map engine designed to animate the radar changes. Windy also has a larger selection of data to overlay and animate, as well as different data sources. The only advantage I can see of Metro is quarter hour averages of the hourly data. Good weather app, but the system does this already 🤔
Good but could be much better. Main page shows current temperature and sky conditions only: Wind, humidity and pressure are missing. Under "Radar" section, "Satellite and pressure" layer doesn't work and the app is stuck showing a notice alert (a bug for sure). Charts under "Meteograms" section are interesting but they really need better graphics. It's a pity because the website version is really well done. I'm really hoping in an update!
This is a very good app where it contains hourly and daily forecasts. Having snowfall amounts by daily is useful to look at the trend. However there is one issue that I noticed in the map section. When it is first started it display the correct day of the month but the wrong day of the week. It is one day of the week behind. I am in North America. Not sure if it makes a difference.
Very useful and best weather forecast, I know of. It would be great though, if maps would respond continuously, while swiping on the timeline, to visualise the change of weather in the dimension of time. I encourage the devs to get inspiration from the WarnWetter app, where such a timeline is already implemented (albeit with nasty rough transitions). Furthermore I don't like to get back to the weather of the current day after switching apps, when I previously had looked at another day's weather.
This app is probably useful in areas where the weather is fairly predictable but where i live in northern part of South Africa it is totally useless. Predicts clear skies when it is raining cats and dogs and vice- versa. This isn't central Europe and the weather is very unpredictable and continously changing..I however find the satelite data which shows troughs and fronts approaching thousands of km away, very interesting. Forecast for now partly cloudy and were having a cloudburst.27mm!
This is the most accurate weather app I have found so far! As well as the basics for every day for a week, there are radar & satellite views too! The only downside is that they DON'T have a key to their symbols or colours... If the developers can sort that out - should be fairly easy to achieve - then I will give it 5*!
