I love it. Ads arent really much of a nuisance with this app, at least not for me. I think my favorite part is being able to use it in conjunction with the apps that allow you to pinpoint in the sky where the shower is coming from. Personally havent experienced any real issues or crashes. 5*👍from me
Reinstalled this app mainly because it's the only one out there. Had issues with it during the Perseid meteor shower where it had the incorrect peak day ( off by several days) and I missed the shower. I am now distrustful of this app. It's just over a year later.....and the Geminids peak date is off by 3 days. Seems no one is going to fix this issue.
Amazing App Been using this app for years and while it's simple and intuitive to use, the regular updates make it easy to learn more if you want. Items like quick links to Wiki pages or sky-maps, weather forecast and moon phase make it so enjoyable to watch out for meteor showers. Even in a small city we've often found showers thanks to images of the star constellations and a chart of upcoming events. Did struggle a bit with the "brightness" values - nothing to compare with. Great job however.
I've had this app for years and it was great, until they changed it. The ads that appear at the bottom of the screen cannot be closed now, and when you click on a particular meteor shower for more information it goes to a new page where the ads block the details of the meteor shower at the bottom of that page. I'd like to be able to see all the details. Not well thought out. I'll wait to uninstall in case they fix the problem - then I'll come back and upgrade my review.
I've had this app & M.S. Key (I paid to remove ads)for almost a decade. Now? Full-blown ads; CCWs other apps are all gone. I relied on this for star-gazing. I just recently noticed all the ads & have been racking my brain for over a week trying to find the Key on my Play library, which is also MIA with those updates. It's prime stargazing time again for me & my group of friends. Guess I'll attempt to find a usable one, as this has not been updated since 12/2019.
UPDATE #2 (2021): No update for 2021, so dates are off again. Really like the app. Just wish it were updated more regularly. UPDATE #1: Back to 5* after the latest update to the database & added chart view. Thank you, CCW! Old: 5* in the past -- & hopefully again in the future -- but the 2019 calendar seems to always be a few days off. Otherwise, it's a great app with useful features & nice design.
This app is easy to use and personalize. Before this I would miss many meteor showers, but now I get reminders. The app shows or takes me right to the other info I need to watch the sky at the right times. I need to update my review and say that there seems to be a problem with dates that most showers in 2022 are listed as 2023. Please look into this! Thanks🌞
App is almost useless because the dates are inaccurate and you will miss the peak dates if you rely on this app. Who cares what it looks and functions like if the information is wrong? No one seems to care and fix the problem either. Better off searching the internet manually for meteor shower info.
It was really useful, but now it doesn't depict any 2022 dates and begins with 2023 meteor shower dates. As of this writing, the widget depicts the next event as 343 days away. I'll hang on to it for now and hope the problem will be resolved. If so, I will also increase my current 1-star rating, but as it stands right now, it's fairly useless.
Wonderful app that's worked great for years. Although I did notice when I just checked it that old is that that all the dates show 2023 instead of 2022. So it essentially shows there's no meteor showers this year which isn't correct. We'll definitely give 5 stars when this is resolved
Overall, a really nice app which gives useful info for astronomers/meteor watchers/astrophotographers like myself. However, if your app dev. is interested, I did find about six+ relatively large bugs within the first ten minutes of having the app open. I did get screenshots and can replicate. I've spent almost a decade working directly with the Dev's, bug hunting the Front end and back end of the main website as well their testing area and on their apps using Facebook, iOS and Android. This was for a site with over 35k members.
Peak dates are wrong. The peak dates listed are 2-4 days off. Just as an example, The Orionid shower peakes Monday night/ Tuesday morning (Oct. 21/22 2019) according to multiple sources, yet this app says that the peak is Oct. 24th. If you follow the dateson this app, you may get lucky and catch a few straglers, but its doubtfull.
PLEASE COULD YOU UPDATE THIS APP ! WE ARE MISSING SOME GREAT METEOR SHOWERS ! Sorry to write in block caps but I'm not getting a response from you and you're not updating this app yearly, which is what you need to do, as not all meteor showers fall on the same date every year. I really enjoyed this app before because you included the smaller meteor showers that other apps don't show.
Update - You claim an educational app!? Proof education system is it's going to hell in a handbasket. Are you people going to fix the 2023 dates or what? The app was perfect otherwise. 2023 Dates???? I contacted developers, no response. It was almost perfect until this happened. Very disappointing.
PLEASE FIX 2022 meteor shower dates! The app is only showing the meteor showers in 2023. Therefore notifications are not occurring. Which is one of the best features of this app. Would rate this up at five if they would just fix the dates!
I enjoy being informed about meterite showers. I love the plan/schedule that you put together so I can plan ahead to watch. Learning a lot about what goes on in space that can be seen, and that sometimes impacts the earth. Zuper app.
Excellent basic easy to use no frills app makes it easy to plan and catch showers.its nice that it adds moon phases at peak and weather info. Quick look up for more Info takes you to Google.
Your app is ALWAYS a few days LATE of peak dates. Example: December geminids 2019, your app shows December 16 to be the peak date. Google shows December 13 @ 8pm - December 14 @ 5pm. (USA Central standard time) If I trusted your app, I'd totally miss it again. Besides that, it's a good app. Please fix this inconvenience.
I have used this app for years and loved it. However, I do no receive notifications anymore. Although it's set to sound "on", you have no options for alerts.
This is a great app except that there are no 2022 dates. They are all listed as 2023 which makes it difficult to figure out exactly when the next shower is going to be. Please fix this!
Quite frequently, I get no notifications from this app. I have the settings set accordingly, but often unresponsive. I honestly haven't found a good app formonitoring celestial activity.
Just wanted to know what's up with the dates in the app now. All mine are showing the start dates for 2023 so I'm confused. First problem I've ever had with the app but I still love it and use it everyday! Just wanted to let someone know!
Love the app, have used it for several years but I'm currently having a problem of it showing meteor showers for 2023 instead of 2022. Next shower is 369 days away!! Please help. Galaxy s21 phone with latest Android
Used to be a great tool, But since 01.01.2022 the next meteor shower is in 2023. 300+ days! My time is set correct. Why is 2022 missing? Device Samsung S8 with android 9. No meteor showers this year 🤔 ?
I'm not sure what happened, but I quit getting notifications for this app and 97% of the events are for 2023 in my list.
It's truly nice to be aware of the different meteor showers throughout the year... BUT! The peak dates shown are often not correct. For instance, this listing says the Geminid meteor shower will be "peaking" tonight, 12/15/2018. This is incorrect. The ACTUAL peak occurred 12/13/18 - 12/14/18. So, I actually missed the best viewing night because the info listed on this calendar was wrong. This has happened a number of other times as well. So, I'm uninstalling this app, and downloading a different one that actually has the CORRECT information.
