Enter the current balance, if any on the card, and select the Fare type.
- Displayed list shows the "Reload" amount to achieve the number of rides.
- High-lighted items have "Reload" amounts that the Ticket Vending Machine (TVM) will accept.
- Other amounts listed will need to be rounded up to the nearest 5 cents for the TVM to accept the transaction. If this is done, a small amount will be left on the card on your last swipe (less then 5 cents).
- Otherwise the odd amounts can be added by a ticket booth clerk.

I like to see more derails for example how to apply or renew senior discount cards and creating automatic charging of cards.

Useless app
Thought it allowed me to reload using my bank. Save me a trip to the train station. Since I take buses every day.
Its main difference is that it can show you all possible refill options, not only those rounded to five. This is particularly good for cash refills if you want to get rid of your coins. Four stars because the app calculates some values incorrectly, for example, if you put 14.86 you will get 16.49 and not 16.50.
This app helps me have no money left on my card , I used to have to struggle to find out how much I have to add on to make it 0 , I never got it right , but now with this app I can! Thank u !

Calculations are incorrect as of 7/7/16.
I don't know whether anyone told you, but MTA gives an 11% discount when you add money to your card. This calculator app doesn't account for the discount, so the app is essentially useless. A for effort though.
Was hoping this app would allow us to reload our cards, it doesn't. Someone should invent an app that will allow this to be possible...hint hint

This app is fine and does what it's supposed to do. If you want to reload your metrocard, put some clothes on and go to the train station.
