Mevo - The Live Event Camera

EDIT: With most recent update, app seems to be working better than before (kept crashing). However, the graphic overlay layout when "live" does not give an option for a lower thirds banner nor a left/right over the shoulder, just a full screen graphic overlay. I'm able to do a left over the shoulder counter, but only it I start it before going "live". It would also be nice to update the app with the "update" button instead of having to uninstall/reinstall with each update.

What a disappointment! After the recent update, I was livestresming an event, I thought, only to find out I recorded and Livestreamed six minutes of an hour-long service. At first everything seemed okay. Then I kept getting connection error messages, and when I attempted to reconnect, I kept getting a warning message, but there were notification and screen messages stating it was still streaming!!! Embarrassing and costly error!

Worked great until Logitech bought them and changed the app. First problem is it will not close, removes buttons and/or guestures so you can't exit the app. Have to reboot phone to close it. Second problem is when the camera is connected via USB the microphone no longer appears on PC, it was great to hear entire room for when we used it for zoom meetings in board room. Now there is no mic and one on notebook only picks up people next to it.

Original creators of Mevo, congratulations on allowing Mevo to be bought over by Logitech so that it can be turned into an absolute piece of TRASH!!! Barely connects anymore. Extremely unreliable. Always has issues connecting to the Facebook stream service that we had been using for years. Whoever is responsible for maintaining this app needs to be fired.b

Since last update I haven't had any troubles getting connected, much better experience now. UPDATE: My mevo plus will not update no matter what I try and mevo help page is useless. I suppose they decided they want to try to force everyone to purchase the start camera so now my 300.00 dollar plus camera is only good for throwing at the dogs when they bark at night.

It's great, when it works, however the latest rounds of updates, cause the live streaming to either be a hit or miss, I would say it only works 40% of the time. UPDATE: I downgraded my review to one star now. It constantly loses connection. I have upgraded my wifi to fiber optics, tried ethernet, and LTE, but at some point in streaming live it loses connection. Also, I am paying for the premium plan.

Connects easily every time over about 12+ months of use. no issues with the app doing what it is supposed to do. App is day and very powerful, and constantly improving. The app is a joy to use. The sensor is very small and noisy. Very high light levels might help. This camera must be EXTREMELY close, ABSURDLY close to the platform. NEEDS a narrow FOV, low f/# lens real bad!!!

Gets the job done for live streaming without the need for a PC. Some controls can be a little fiddly on a small touchscreen, but that isn't too do with the app One complaint is the time taken to load overlays from PDF. It usually takes about 5 mins to upload approx 20 slide/1MB pdf from my phone to the Mevo. It doesn't seem to be limited by the network, so not clear what is taking so long, but it does so every time. Would be very pleased to understand if there's anything I can do to speed it up!

It's great and helpful for what it does. The downside is that it appears to be native to iOS and android may be an afterthought. There are many features not showing for android that is listed in the Mevo manual. Hopefully the android app will get some updates to at least allow for as many options a d features as the iOS app has. Things as simple as editing a title from the go live screen instead of having to go into the gear icon for the destination (doesn't save unless you go live right then).

Old version worked great, BUT this new version (Mevo 2.0) is horrible! It crashed no less the 15 times during a live broadcast!!! WTH!!! It was LIVE! I'm running a tablet with plenty of power, and it ran great on the old version. If it ain't broke, keep fixing it until it is. Very disappointed!

Very unreliable. The idea behind mevo is a good one for people on low budgets. The execution leaves a lot to be desired. The biggest issue I've dealt with is stream dropping. We were able to live stream on youtube successfully 5+ times, then suddenly we can't get a stream to function on YouTube at all. My advice: drop more money on a nicer camera and use OBS.

This app used to work fine, but after a series of updates it no longer streams video to the phone without stuttering and freezing constantly. I contacted support, who did virtually nothing and then resolved my case after 10 days and without any other possible solutions than "umm try turning it on and off again." I'll never buy another Mevo product. They screw up their own software and the support is garbage.

Wants access to everything for something that should be a desktop app.

Application is getting cracked. Multiple times I have to reinstall. Concept is amazing. UI is good. Can be used in multiple ways. But not able to use it. Kindly look into the issues asap.

This was recommended to us for use in Church to livestream the service and we can see why. Simple to set-up, easy to use, rock solid reliability for us (once we got the in-house Wi-Fi sorted out). Recent addition of graphics and countdown timers make things look more professional. More advanced users can integrate this via NDI or Webcam App (separate) to use with OBS and other streaming software. Have also used it to simply record to SD card for later editing and uploading.

Hi Mevo, After the last firmware update I cannot connect the camera to the smartphone app. I only can do it by reseting the camera to the fabric defenitions and configuranting it again. But After the live streaming, I can seem to Connect the camera again. I'm using the android app. I tried with several phones and the problem persists. After launching the app, i click on the button connect and the app doesn't go further. The app closes. Can You please help? Before the last firmware update it worked fine! Thank you

Connection issues Always do updates and reboot devices before new session. All goes great and at worst time looses connection between phone or tablet. Can't connect. Try to reestablish connections to no avail. Both on same network and strong signal. Have to reboot phone or tablet to resolve. Happens every week at church service. Switch networks same issue. Need to fix app or device Looks like other people have similar issue Please resolve

Fix the crashing. It's really annoying. I've used this during a live stream. And the app completely closes itself in the middle of a stream. The whole time it works just fine until that. And I used to think the app was great until this started happening

when the camera works it's great. I have to spend 15 mins before I go live trying to get the damn thing to work. it always says lost connection with mevo or some other message. u cant set this up and immediately get started. if u are required to hurry up and capture footage ur screwed. I bought the bundle with the boost etc and I'm pissed at the functionality

It's the second week we used this to live stream our Worship Service. Today, we had issues with the sound and then it cut off. We had to restart our Service...not acceptable. I rather just live it through my phone without using MeVo. It's cool to use it, with all the different things that you can do, BUT, I don't like the interruption with the live streaming of our Worship Service. we'll see, if we are going to continue using it. Maybe we have to be patient and keep working with it.

Good features, however plagued by constant crashes. In a one and a half hour session, the app crashed about a dozen times and stopped streaming entirely about 4 times creating 4 separate videos for the one event! Really not happy Mevo! When is a fix coming???

I must agree with others. You need to fix the problem with crashes. I cannot continue with this product if this issue is not resolved. I hold services weekly, and this week I had to post 3x to achieve a 45 minute service. This is not acceptable. It its not broken don't try to improve it. It was fine the way it was. Can I get my previous version back?

I have to say that this is a useless app for an expensive piece of kit. The app will constantly not find mevo and then crashes when found. I am sitting on top of my router and mevo and am using the latest Android flavour. Someone needs to sort this out quickly otherwise I have a lump of lead. Thanks

Truly awful waste of money. Software always gives error messages and constantly loses connection even in pristine networking conditions. Lens gives terrible wide angle zoomed out look to everything, built in audio sounds tinny and diffuse. Stuff streamed from this is practically unwatchable.

Poor experience! App is not user friendly at all. it seems to be simple but doesn't really do what you want the way you want it. The full features come with a purchase, something that was not explained on the box of camera. so you think the camera is equipped with the features that you see in the ad, but it's not. I'm not happy that the manufacturer was not clear and honest about this. I returned the camera to the seller.

These last update have been HORRIBLE !!!! I depend on Mevo to stream my shows. The app was connecting fine yesterday 12-14-19 and today the app want even open up. It continues to force close. I paid to much for this camera and service to have these issues.

This camera works well. I am able to sit in my living room and Livestream a church service by myself with only my phone and a wifi connection. The picture is clear and the sound is clear. I only had to reduce the streaming speed one step to keep it from freezing up.
