FAQ
Q: Does my Android device need to be permanently plugged to the OBD port?A: No. Once a flash is performed you can unplug your device.
Q: Do I lose my licenses if I delete the app or the Android device breaks?A: No. licenses are stored online by Google, you can use your purchases on another device as long as you use the same account on Play store.
Q: Do I need to purchase a new license each time I flash a map?A: No, you can ref lash as many times as needed.
Q: Is a battery charger required?A: It is highly recommended for long flashes (install, uninstall). A healthy battery will handle short flashes (map changes) fine but the use of a battery charger remains recommended.
Q: How can I determine if the DME is directly flashable or needs a one time bench flash?A: got to http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/select and enter the last 7 digits of your VIN in serial number. Click Browse parts the ENGINE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM and check both CONTROL UNITS > MEVD1726 section. If the it says "No parts found matching your car." you have a MEVD172 which is directly flashable.

Had a few ossues within the first few months due to running n26 plugs/delphi coil combo. For some reason the voltage/amp pull would wig out the the dme. However after updates has resolved itself. Love the options and updates. The application and twisted tuning maps are great for more power and daily driving use. Currwntly fbo and run stage 1+ for daily and stage 2+ for fun. Vehicle seems to get better fuel economy in stage 1+ than stock.
MHD is the most efficient way to tune your BMW with an n55 engine, unfortunately the developer is not updating the maps very often. and you don't have any option to revert to an older version, would be nice to be able to backup an older a map ,, even if its vin-locked, and restore it on a newer mhd gui version.
The MHD app is such an amazing tool to really give you that extra power! I had the JB4 installed already but wanted a bit more power. I bought the MHD Backend Flash for my N55 135i and the results were great! I am on the BEF mode (4/2) & on MAP 5 on my JB4 (0/5). The results are amazing! I have been pushing up to 20.7 psi. Super satisfied and Momir from MHD was very helpful in answering all of my questions. I would definitely recommend! If you want more power it's so worth it!
Most amazing tunning app available for E93 N55. Allows more control than other tuners for more money. Will not be disappointed with this app. As a club president we have all switched from a competitor to MHD. APP is easier to use and offers control of more features than others. We have used almost all of the apps and find they are all as easy to use with as much control. This app is under priced for what it offers. You can not buy a competitor for the price of the MHD.
IPhone only. Here's why I tried with 2 different android devices to write a flash using my super license, neither worked with the orange wifi adapter. In fact the google phone I used crashed the DME, the car wouldn't even start. I finally came across a forum thread where someone ended up using their wife's iPhone and was successful in re establishing and fixing his broken DME. SO, my wife also has an iPhone, and you guessed it...no problem. Fixed the DME. Car runs again. That was sketchy!
I have a 2012 135i. I was having issues with the car idling horribly and even stalling when the air conditioning was on. Flaahed mhd and the problem has disappeared. This app made my car drivable again!
Had fun with the tune, but in light of some failures with my cooling system, the tune keeps the car from notifying you if your car is overheating, and now my block is damaged. The moment I removed mhd the car would notify me if it was overheating. Wouldn't recommend using.
People who don’t have this app don’t know what you are waiting for . From stock to stage2+ it’s amazing . All I wanted was a bit of extra power . Stage 1 was how these cars should of came out . Let’s just say it’s so addictive and best safest tune out there that I have done all the mods and have stage 2 + now . Worth every penny easy to use great features like burbles etc and customer service is a+ . You will not regret . Best tuning platform for our bmws .
Works perfect when you follow the instructions ;) The Stage 1 map on my 2011 BMW X5 xDrive 35i (e70/N55) is pretty sweet! MHD support is awesome as well. I had some issues at firat and they had been quick to respond and very helpful!
All cars should come with an app like this. Sure it could be better in some ways, but its still probably the best and easiest solution available. I hope that support continues and they do more vehicles in future.
Power delivery is awesome was running 1+ OTS tune and enjoying it most of the time. But, it does have some issues. Such as throttle and boost spike at 10 - 15% throttle. Throttle surge when cruise control is active especially around 60 - 70 mph range. Last but not least, when putting car in park the engine just about dies then revs up and down from 500 - 1000 rpm. Mashing on the gas a bit to about 2500 - 3000 rpm gets this to stop though and car will idle fine. Removed tune for now until fixed.
I have a manual car, the power delivery is poor, I don't think they have tested this tune on a manual car. Only really feel good power when you wot, kinda feel like I have wasted my money . I've driven an auto with MHD and you feel great power no matter the throttle position! Also need an update it's been a year
App works well, no issues after several months of use. Generic maps seem good. Play store can cause issues for in app purchase, best to buy Google Play gift cards and use those.
Easy tuning! One of the better tunes you can get, and change, and have control over. Good price for what it is and what it does to.
Fantastic customer service, prompt email responses. Easy to use interface with tons of benefits for tuning, or even small jobs like battery registration.
Everything about this app is awesome and only it gets better with updates and new additions!! Don't cheap out.... You will probably need new sparks plugs and injectors if yours are too old. FBO status. Stage II + Do it all, do it once, and do it properly. Cheers to MHD for making it all possible!!!
OBD unlock confirmed with 2012+ N55 X1. Stage I tune successfully flashed on 2014 X1 xDrive35i. Process was straightforward, and was 4x quicker than the S55 flash operation
Ever since newest update can't flash with Android. Only with iPad. Tried both phones. Not fun getting stuck at gas station.

Easy to use, effective and clear menus. Resetting adaptation was an excellent feature
Went from using only JB4 to using a Burger Motorsports BEF tune installed via this app and it changed the cars driveability 100%. Playing with burble and other options via the app are also a plus. I can't speak to the OTS maps and their quality, since I'm stacking BMS products, but I'm thoroughly satisfied with this app. Now to just get E8x/9x N55 the standing burble. :) Car: '11 135i N55 DCT Suggestion: popup notice if device isn't in airplane mode before flash to remind user before starting.
