while the app is great when it is working it is very frustrating because it will let you answer about 5 of the questions before it crashes and you have to open the whole thing up again. it loads rather slowly but it will load.wish that you could read without it having to be landscape. makes it very hard to read on a mobile app I've noticed that the same complaints have been made for a few years now without any corrections being made to the program. and no reply from them either come on McGraw
the interface is so outdated. it's ridiculous that, considering the amount of money the company makes from ripping off college students, they can't update the app to modern standards. the app should not be locked in landscape mode. the app should be combined with the smartbook app; there's no use for 2 apps. the file size of the apk is not that large. the UI is clearly outdated, the theme is silly. There's probably more, but this is from 2 minutes before realizing i need another app.
The application would not open past a white blank page. Multiple attempts to refresh and reinstall the application proved to be ineffective. The concept and idea of how useful this application could be for students is wonderful. However, investing some time into additional technical support and/or software developers to improve the applications poor performance is necessary.
This app is absolutely useless. It is not at all optimized for mobile use. I have a black bar on the side of my screen which can't be used because the app doesn't support the aspect ratio of my phone. The interface is clunky and clearly just ported over. It's like if the app simply opens a tab to the website in a browser.
they need to split up assignments to make them fit the phone or be able to zoom in and out as well as move around the page if its too big. at any rate the browser works better as it has these functions. i couldnt move the answers across the screen at all making it literally impossible to use. also for the laptops, please make your site touchscreen compatible.
Absolutely worthless. I cannot believe McGraw-Hill bothered developing this app - for people to use - knowing they weren't going to allow access to material. Instead of viewing old assignments to study for an upcoming quiz, the app told me the pages could only be viewed on a computer. And, no, I do NOT want to read everything in landscape view. A waste of time. UNINSTALLED!!!
had to install this to do my homework on my phone, because the laptop was acting up. the first assignment I got was a simple drag-and-drop vocab assignment. thanks to the faulty Hardware of the app, the drag and drop became next to Impossible. I couldn't drag words to matching definitions right beside their boxes because it decided "Let's scroll an entire page up, and mess up another line". Needless to say, I'll take the loss of points than deal with this BS. WORK ON THIS.
Awful. Crashes constantly and does not allow you to review chapters for days after completing the assignment. There is no way to get to the "self study" portion so students are forced to wait until the "recharge" is ready to study. The constant blinking in the corner is extremely distracting. The only reason I am continuing to try and use this terrible app is because the website won't even load on my computer. Good concept, terrible execution.
This app is terrible! I deleted and reinstalled it twice. Interesting chat w/tech quoted below: "I checked the list of books accessible via the MHE Connect app and verified that the book your instructor set up for your Connect course is not listed. Some assignments require specific plug-ins which a mobile device does not support, so I highly suggest that you use a laptop or a desktop computer" Really?! #if no phone then why app in play store? No reply #2 not just assignments no book on app
horrible, horrible, horrible! can't use on my Android phone or iPad. I like to read my texts when I'm free, but it says that the class is only available on a computer. I don't always have that with me! not designed with the current student trends in mind. pay a programmer and get a proper app!!
Really!?!? Nested scroll bars???? Not using those is design 101 Not to mention it isn't uncommon for the four choices on a quiz to be there four wrong answer s The drag and drop sections are horrible to try and use The only reason I am using the app over the website is because I can't install flash on my'03 computer anymore Also, looking at the comments on the app, it looks like this will be as ignored as the rest of them. But maybe if a software engineer can point out what exactly is wrong they may fix it
The fact that I can't complete assignments and study from my phone is unacceptable in the current digital world. I'm a good student, and I will pass regardless. However, everyone in my class is struggling, and it's because most of our assignments are through this app. If you are a teacher/professor debating whether or not to use this app in the future, please find some other option. This app will not be helpful to your students.
Worthless app. No Smartbook (it's a separate app), and all of the assignments for my classes are "only available on computer", and there's virtually no other functionality Connect has to offer. The mobile website, while still bad, is better than this.
This is no joke the worst app I have ever used. I have never been more frustrated than when I have no choice but to use the app when wifi is unavailable and the app either doesn't work at all or literally gets rid of every blank I put into the homework assignments. Don't waste your time.
I like that this app is exactly the same as the desktop version, which makes studying on the go very easy. The only thing I dislike about it, is that the orientation is fixed to horizontal mode. I would much rather it be vertical because I feel like you're able to see more of the material on your screen.
It won't rotate so i have to have my phone sideways, which makes it hard to see everything on my screen while being able to actually see the words. Like my quiz? I can't see the questions and choices at the same time, nor can I see all of my multiple choice options at once.
Download as suggested by the website so that I have more options for my class content (ie my phone and tablet) for when I am on the go. open app and login to find that the class is only available to browse, complete homework, and view power points etc from a desktop computer...where you would have no need for an app... Bummer.
Garbage app, tried taking an anatomy exam and every time you go to select an answer it becomes near impossible to put it on the right blank. You can't rotate the screen, can't zoom out, it has so little functionality it shouldn't be considered an app.
It simply doesn't work. It is locked to horizontal display only, and the buttons to view the books and practice questions doesn't actually work. The app might as well be a static image if the first menu, because that's the only thing that you'll ever see. As usual, textbook companies are terrible at everything, despite basically mugging every single college student for hundreds of dollars. They're worse than Hitler, because at least Hitler cared about Germany or something.
this is the most difficult, unfriendly user app I have ever seen. honestly, the phone version is completely useless. the computer version is a little better, but still a complete failure. terrible programming all around, I can't believe this is what so many schools use.
Shame on you, McGraw-Hill. This is an embarrassing excuse for an app. The only options on the screen when opening the app are to view your To-Do list, for which it showed only one course which expired months ago, and to click the sidebar which had options only to "view profile" "log out" and "contact support". I wish I could say I'm surprised.
Lagging and I can not get it out of landscape orientation. It's basically useless on my phone. I haven't tried it on my laptop or tablet yet. It would be really helpful to make this app usable on a phone, so we have the option of accessing our material on the go.
Not optimized for your phone. This is the most frustrating learning app I've ever used. It is not optimized for phone use in the slightest and frequently has issues whether it's an inability to scroll past a picture or to return to a previous screen or even locate the next highlighted highlighted section Jesus! It's terrible! Only use this on a computer or you might want to break your phone!!
