About Miami:

For someone from the United States, it could be said that visiting Miami is almost like visiting another country without actually going to another country. The name of Miami’s premier NBA the, The Heat, captures the spirit of the city almost too perfectly. From sunny beaches, to beautiful people, to the mix of Latin cultures, to the hot club scene, Miami is truly a unique city situated on the Florida coast. It has been ranked as the richest and the cleanest city in the United States, and has the second largest hispanic population in the country. Music and art are spread throughout the city, but the beauty doesn’t stop there. To the West sits the gorgeous and unique Florida Everglades and the blue of the Atlantic Ocean is to the East.

Getting There:

-By Air: Miami has two airports, Miami International Airport (MIA) and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. MIA is one of the busiest airports in the world, and receives the second most international passengers in the United States, only behind New York City’s JFK International Airport. -By Sea: Miami is also a busy port, and hosts many cruise ships. A multitude of cruises either embark, visit, or end in Miami.

Getting Around:

-Rental Car: Renting a car is highly recommended in Miami. -Taxi: Taxis are also readily available, but costs will stack up unless you plan on staying within the South Beach area. -Public Transit: The Metromover is a good way to get downtown, and offers great views of the city. Otherwise, public transportation is normally used by locals getting to and from work.
