Micro Mechanic

The app worked when I first got it a few years ago. The functionality is not as good as a cable scanner that you buy. For the past several months the app would not show codes that have been stored. I purchased the pro version upgrade and it too quit working. So I had to go back to the old cable style scanner to see and erase set codes. Unfortunately I purchased two of these so I lost about 50 dollars in the process.

i can't even download the app. i have had to delete numerous things and free up a gigabyte of storage and still not enough. it won't and there are no options during download to choose external storage. so i finally got it. But it says everything is ok. hook it up. 2006 jeep. check engine light on. it connects. scans. no problem. it obviously doesn't work. i got another app car scanner elm it had in instruction. has 4.7 stars. still couldn't get it to work

Horrible. It's a scam. Not working as expected. Once installed, the scan does not detect problems. Support said to buy the upgrade version for it to report. After purchasing the upgrade the dashboard worked, but the scan still didn't detect the EGR value problem. Called support again, and was told the upgrade allows the dashboard to function, but has nothing to do with the scan detection. All other listed apps never connected to the device. App connects and scans but doesn't detect problems.

tried on 2002 mustang. all I got was a turning wheel and never ending "scan in progress" message. tried it 3 times for bout ten minutes each time. each time I tried it, I removed and reseated device. at the end of each time I turned ignition off before removing device and when I did that a message popped up and said no problems found. that would only happen when I turned ignition off, otherwise it just says scan in progress."no problems found" is a lie because check engine light is still on

So app did sync to device 2003 chevy trailblazer, with my check engine light on, app still says I'm good to go. Which leads me to believe it don't work at all some may have different results however!!!... What they do is you can't access any actual features offered on the box the box works only when you Buy!!.. The pro version, Otherwise basic version is pretty much useless..

I'm a mechanic. My friend had this thing. I was curious so I tried it to compare to my old reliable battle scared scanner. It was very dissapointing. I wasn't expecting much. And it couldn't even pull up a simple cam sensor code, that I expected to find. I downloaded the useless app, I managed to connect to it. It didn't identify the vehicle or the trouble code. Completely useless. I felt lucky that it didn't actually damage the vehicles computer. Scam product! DON'T BUY IT! $20 PAPER WEIGHT!

Complete waste of time and money. Wont go past the pairing screen even though phone has paired with it. Though i will say i didnt have high expectations , it didnt even come close to what it said it could do. The only it did do was plug into the OBDII port. If i enjoyed wasting time and money, along with the stress of fighting with it to work... i would have stayed with my ex wife. Thanks for your bogus product. Only reason for one star is lack of options to choose worse.

No Issues Found, LMAO, I've got several lights illuminated, currently on my dashboard. Check Engine, ABS, Traction Control, Low Tire Pressure, etc. I hooked up the reciever, connected phone and device via Bluetooth, turned the car on, tapped scan, and it says everything checks out and is safe to drive. I know there's problems with my vehicle and wanted to see what exactly. I guess you get what you pay for. Wish I could get a full refund, but in the owners manual it clearly states "Product As Is"

The actual DEVICE works great! (Download OBD Auto DR instead of this app) The APP doesn't work at all! Unfortunately this app gives the device a bad name & the device is great the app is junk. I've tried this on my car for months and it never shows nothing wrong! It pairs with my device ok, but the scan results say no problems an vehicle is safe to drive, when it clearly has a problem. I took the advice from another reviewer an downloaded a different app and it told me my problem right away!

YOU'LL BE DISAPPOINTED The device works fine however use one of the apps recommended in your instruction guide. Most are free and provide a ton of information. This app is very basic and the pro version is not worth it. I wouldn't want the free version. Again, the device works great when paired with other apps.

Purchased the pro version. It simply doesn't work. It pairs with my Bluetooth okay and when I run a scan the app displays a spinning gear indicating a scan is in progress. At the end of scan it displays a "safe to drive" message and no issues found despite a known issue and check engine light. Worthless.

The app and the product it is associated with is absolute garbage. I have a conventional ODB scanner, so I'm quite familiar with how these things work. The Bluetooth will connect, but the app just hangs and displays no information. I have a check engine light on for a faulty O2 sensor. This app couldn't tell me that... Only my conventional scanner could. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. It should be pulled from store shelves immediately.

Update - This app no longer works for me. Entered requested information when opening the app, name and email address, after redownloading it, and I kept getting "invalid token." 2018 - Currently don't have problems with my vehicle, just wanted to check it out to see if it works and pairs properly as I've read people having problems with it. So far it works on my end.....

Purchased micro mechanic because the engine light has been on for months. Downloaded app, scanned vehicle and micro mechanic says there is nothing wrong with vehicle. Which can't be right because of engine light. Offered for me to put in the code for pro version. How much more do they want you to spend. If I paid for this then it should be the pro version.

Garbage... pure garbage. I got it as a gift. App doesn't connect to device. All it does is turn your Bluetooth on. Says it's connected when it's not even plugged in. Then you run the scan, it says "safe to drive". Now I know for a fact I have more than 5 codes on my truck, check engine light is on and has been on. Ohh... but I'm safe to drive.

A waste of 19.99 plus tax. I bought this tool back in 2018 for future use. I pulled it out today to check an icon on my dashboard. Tool wouldn't pair up with the app though my phone recognized it. Tool required a PIN: did NOT come with the item, nor was it referenced at all in documentation. Tried everything recommended in Troubleshooting list: Still didn't work. I wish I'd tried the thing while I could still get a refund, but who expects a BRAND NEW item to fail right out of the box?

Horrible!! You can't get the device to pair with your phone's bluetooth. Tried 2 different phones so it's not the phone. It's the device and the app. DO NOT BUY THE DEVICE BCUZ you can't get the app to work with it! Can't return to Target where it was purchased bcuz never tried to use it until now 6 months after purchase. Waste of money!!

This app is completely useless!! The app claims it will scan your vehicle and translate trouble codes back to the user but it does absolutely nothing!! My check engine light was on and my car was flashing several trouble codes but this thing continually reported that all stars were running perfectly, it's bogus and a waste of time, energy and money!!

Damn thing was dead on arrival no pairing at all. Just found out the housing is too deep you have to put the micro mechanic just barely in for it to pop up....once you get in there there's a pro upgrade that you have to spend $10 on top of buying the physical device to upgrade to the pro version to get any sort of use out of it. Then when I called their help desk and asked them is that not included inside the price when you buy it at the store she cursed and hung up on me.

Trying to connect via bluetooth sucks. Installed app waited 5 minutes for bluetooth to connect, and after connection appeared, entered password via directions, and doesnt connect, I'm just waiting and waiting and waiting, AAA showed up before I could connect, will provide a higher rating when the stalling is fixed. And AAA usually shows in 90 minutes. That's telling you this thing sucks.

waist of my money. scan scans for hours and still doesn't pass the scanning screen. it shows nothing wrong and "says" scan finished after the vehicle is turned off. update your app or upgrade your device and give me one that works if you do so. this is stupid. I'm doing it with a 2003 ford explorer and it won't work

Paired without issue when following instructions. Ran a few scans. Everyone came back No Problem Found, Safe To Use (concept, no necessarily the actual words). I tried entering a known code from a repair manual. In fine print it said it couldn't access the internet. I sent an email both to the email listed. Response said to try one of the recommended alternative apps from the manual. I just checked for ODB ll apps. "Car Scanner" app looked good, works great.

When the app informs its "connecting to the device please waiting" the dev does not likely have a grip on the english language. This device was supposed to be compatible with other BT ELM 327 software yet none of those listed in the device packaging seem to connect to thedevice either. I have yet to see the device recognize my vehicle information. Nothing but the connecting screen. Mentioned above. Even ran the bwttery down in my car waiting for the software to connect to the hardware device. For that i would rate in the negative -3 stars. Do not waste your time or money if you Purchase this device keep your receipt and and original packaging so you can return it. After 3 months of trying trust me you will wish you had returned it sooner. Sn95 1998 mustang .

These crooks are banking on your ignorance. The device doesn't pair with the app no matter what phone you download it on - but that doesn't stop the app from spinning its gears to give the appearance that its communicating with the (unpaired) device. So, what did your car tell your phone? That everything's fine, it's safe to drive your car.

Car wont start (not a battery promblem), check engine light is on. Tried this device, said no issues, car is safe to drive. Actually useless. However, got it working with the Carista app(have to select Carista as the scanner when prompted), so its possible just this app is useless.

Can't even start to work with it... because it says non of my emails are valid then after it did take an email, scanned and said no problems and safe to drive even though I have to clear every time I start the warning of fix stabilitrak and service traction control system. All 4 tires sensors are dead or broken, some don't read or others are reading 0 lbs of pressure.... this is junk! Would not recommend this product.

Connected the adapter with micro mechanic, it was stuck at Paring after entering the code. Then tried Carista with settings to "Carista".. Came back with an error message with "Faulty Adapter". Sending it back. Why do the apps require "GPS"? It's reading an engine code... Save the $20 and put it towards a $60 reader.

The device would not pair with the phones Bluetooth. I downloaded the app on two phones and could not get it to work. I even tried the device in multiple vehicles, one of which has less than 4000 miles and the device still did not work.

Says car is "safe to drive. No issues found," but the car is running extremely rough with the check engine light flashing. If the check engine light is flashing, that means there is something extremely wrong and you should not be driving the car!

This app is piss poor quality. Only works with a small selection of vehicles And its very simple as well as basic. It is good only for a code scanner. As far as the pro version it is help but only if your car lacks having certain gauges like a Temp 1 for example.
