„Spy app catcher“ feature requires access to microphone to execute security test.Microphone protection can't be technically done without direct access to microphone. (In simple terms: We can't close or block doors if we can't touch or manipulate these doors)
- Can application secure / protect from spying by security agencies ?
Application can secure and protect your android phone from listening and recording you by other applications that are infected by spyware, malware, virus or security agencies spying code, but can’t protect you from recording your calls going through “telephone line”. App can’t secure “telephone lines” so once your voice leave the phone we are not protecting you anymore. (If security agency decide to record your calls on the “telephone line” or “operator” we are not able to protect you).

Really good app, but not perfect. It would be great if I were able to select how long to turn off the blocker, to select which apps are able to use mic and or when...such as only when I manually push microphone button preferably. And one last minor but laughable thing.. All the Danger/Risks I had was this app using the microphone. Lol. Otherwise, I believe the app does what it says it will do. And I do like it, but I especially want to turn it off for a while without needing to uninstall.
Does not work on Android 12. Paid for the full version and it stopped working when Andriod 11 was released. I emailed the the developers and they replied stating there is nothing they can do, it's an issue with the way that the new android versions handle the mic. I kept using it because you could get it to finally work after about 3 tries to enable it, not that bad. After android 12 was released, no luck at all at all. Emailed the developers, no response. Uninstalled it today.
I think both apps are working fine, although I couldn't know that for sure. There is simply no real way I could think of to test each apps feature when enabling both "Microphone Block" or the "Camera Block" apps. This reason alone is why I didn't give them a perfect rating, just couldn't justify giving both apps a five star rating when I don't even know if each is actually working like the description dictates.
Great UI but I don't think it works. I had it activated so that my mic should've been unable to pick up my physical conversation with my dad around storage solutions and the next day I have ads for storage solutions. So it doesn't work. I don't know what it blocks actually. Another example I have: I was using a tuning app to tune my guitar and it blocked sound from the guitar. So what does and doesn't it block?
Automatic blocking doesn't work when in screen lock. Also after the 2 hours period when using the free version. Minimum setting for automatic blocking is 5 minutes, supposed to be immediately after an app is closed. 6$ each (micro and camera) is too much. I would suggest a 5$ bundle for both.
IT WORKS, it works X). To test this if android u tap on microphone on Google at the top of home screen and speak into it when block is off, the result should be obvious. When u turn it on is when the magic happens, it allows u to go into the microphone but it picks nothing up, I LOVE IT 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰, if apple just try to record something with it off and then with it on, the one that u had the block on for should be muted. Edit: if apple record with videos to make results believable.
This App, even when you have it set to block, will unblock and allow all other Apps use of the microphone. I woke up at 3 AM and while checking something else on my phone found this to be the case. This is completely separate from the agreed to 8-10 PM unblock which happens daily.
Well... I thought that after going through so many mic blocking apps this is the one. It actually worked. That is - till the next morning. To test it, I said "hey google", and Google pops right up. This blocker was showing that it was still on. So what happened? (Note 8, android 9).
Always notified when apps attempt to access my mic. This is awesome. I already know about prying eyes, but ears? The AI out now is SPOOKY to say the least, so it is more important than ever to protect what your phone might hear you say. Love it!
Great app, does what it's supposed to, blocks the mic from being used by background apps. Please implement a quick block/unblock feature where I don't have to open the entire app on the screen. I will update my rating to five stars once that can be added to the app. Thanks!
Full marks for presentation, but this app actually performs a very simple task - you can build your own version using something like Automate. £5.99 for the pro version is a bit steep!
Phone's alarm and internal/external speakers stop functioning with this app, no more bluetooth music. :( Customer service will not reply to my request for help... had to uninstall. Wish I had started with the free trial, even though they were up front about selling my data.
This app TRUELY, ACTUALLY, 100% OF THE TIME (when one has it turned on) BLOCKS THE MICROPHONE!!!! I have tried other apps, they would work sometimes (like right after I turned them on and checked them) then later I would go to google to look something up and check googles microphone while I was there AND WITH THE OTHER APPS I TRIED IT WAS ALWAYS LISTENING! NOT SO WITH THIS APP!! IT BLOCKS WHAT IT SAYS IT BLOCKS!!! THANK YOU A THOUSAND TIMES OVER!!
Excellent app! So easy to use, just quickly swipe down from the top of the Android screen and tap to unblock and tap to block. A neat perk that is not annoying and is absolutely vital is the brief notification which pops up and lets you know "on or off". Thank you for one fine app. You did it perfectly.
Disables the microphone with just 1 tap And really disables it like it does not work at all till you turn it back on. Thank you for this app i tried others but they just lower tge volume of mic not disable it
Good app but as soon as a call comes in it should deactivate automatically and reactivate after a phone call would be a good update I'd like to see...but all that said it does what it says on the tin works fine and dandy 4 stars it'd be 5 if it automatically did phone call off and on
What good is blocking the microphone if other apps can still use the microphone. Apparently in order to block all mic usage, you have to remove apps who already have permissions, which would block them from using the mic in the first place, which leads me to ask what this app is actually doing if it can't override permissions and blocking permissions would do exactly what this app claims to do...
Didn't work for me. I had a conversation on another cell phone with work in the same room as this cell. Literally the very next time I pulled up YouTube, all the ads were related to work. I've never received ads like this before but I was on the phone for over an hour talking about the stuff
If it is working, it is good. I wish there was some way I could verify this. I'll just have to take your word for it 🙂 Take two,,, I have used this app before on a different phone... And it worked great.. Without the app, I told the mail carrier where I got my fur hat,, and the next day I got adds from them..
Oreo 8.0: Galaxy S7: Disabling microphone also disables speaker In Most Secure and Battery Saving modes. Leaving Normal and Mode 4 as usable (but both seem to get through quite a lot of battery).
It works, better than others I've tried, but not all of the time, on Samsung note 8. In order to work, the app needs to actually stay open. If I do close all apps, the mic starts listening again. It's not like a service that works in the background. I've also been experiencing issues with YouTube playing sound in the ear speaker rather than the phone loudspeaker when the app is active, so I need to stop the app to be able to hear the videos' sound. App is also shown as high power consumer.
