Every video on the app buffers if the playback speed is increased. This problem makes the app useless and frustating to use. Please resove it ASAP...i use it for educational purpose.
Three stars because I am thankful to be able to get to our videos hosted in Stream. Taking off two stars because the mobile app is nowhere near where it could have been if it had the same features (simple things such as skip forward, backward..) of other mobile video players that have been in the market for many years. Now that Microsoft is killing off the current version of Stream, I would not hold my breath that this mobile app would get any love from dev team.
Overall Stream is a great tool, but the functionality of the mobile app is limited. There are no notifications for channels, you can't find the channels that you "follow" in the browser version, and you can't easily filter out the types of videos you don't want to see. edited: reading through other comments, I look forward to seeing channel support this summer!
It's great as far as it goes. But what happened to Stream Channels? They are actually an essential part of Stream, otherwise there is no way of grouping or categorising the content. Since this is a standard feature of the Stream portal I'm dumfounded that it doesn't exit in the mobile experience. I guess this is only a v1 release, so lacks some things - even if they are the basics. So, I have joined the beta programme and will make a case for the improvements.
A useful app but 4 stars because of the limited features. Please consider the following: 1. Providing the group based video categories as available on the streams website. 2. Providing an option for personal playlists so as to sort out the videos for future use. This is the most useful thing that could be added to improve overall productivity. Otherwise, it is nothing more than an archive, which though useful, is limited in functionality. However, thank you for the good effort @developers.
This app has many issues. 1) No matter how fast the internet is, it buffers time after time, no matter you forward a video by 30s or rewind it by 10s it still buffers the video. 2) The offline download is very disappointing, some videos are saved fine, but some are saved with black screen and only audio. 3) There is no quality choosing options, just high quality and standard quality options. There must be a range of quality scales to watch a video like, 360p, 480p, 720p, etc. *Typing limit*
Trash application. Im a university student whos going to online class. The desktop version allows me to choose between which groups and classes i am in to choose the respective videos. Not with this. The mobile app is so lazily made, they just threw all the videos and content that you have access to in a homepage. The connection quality is also extremely poor. My mobile phone and wifi can connect very well to any other video streaming app. But i buffer every 20 seconds in this. No exaggeration
Room for improvement People all over the world are attending online classes via different platforms and my university has opted to conduct classes through MS Stream which works perfectly fine. But there is a problem; there is no option to download the videos. Which means we have to keep wasting our Internet everytime we view a recorded video. Please do something about it. It would've been a solid 5 stars otherwise.
Very basic app with minimal functionality. For me it is basically unusable due to the absence of groups view. Every video needs to be searched individually, which is near impossible when 50 videos in your organisation are called "meeting 5". Strangely this is not a problem on desktop. Wider range of video quality would also come in handy.
Playlists feature is missing which is essential for navigating the content. Otherwise all great and straightforward
Uploading from gallery never works anymore, when I tap the option the app doesn't react. It used to work just fine.
This app have many issues regarding videos play 1) The change of quality of video is on the option of each and every video. 2) It doesn't show all the videos of my teams aap. I think microsoft is the best, but microsoft stream app is not on that reach that it would be. I'm using Microsoft Teams aap it is one of the best app. But Microsoft Stream needs more improvement. I really Thanks to the whole team of Microsoft to introduce such wonderful app like Teams👍👍👍
Good to access video on the phone and I was glad to see a view offline feature. However few basic features still poor. Very small play button too close to the time bar. No swipe gestures to rewind was a real pain as I had a 1 hour video and trying to rewind 10 seconds was more likely to go 2 minutes :/
App won't open on Huawei p20 pro. Just crashes after a second, goes back to previous screen.
A basic version of the browser application, not experienced many problems, reasonably straight forward to use. The major draw back for me is the loss of channels and following together with the in ability to sort videos, so you have to scroll through all items.
Downloading takes very long time. Downloaded files corrupt automatically can't play anymore, you have to download it again. Half downloaded files stuck and asked to re download it from beginning. Takes much data. Can't stream on low network.. need +200kbps to stream a video
This App when running is 5* but the current update has rendered it useless to me. Uploading videos just hangs at the very first point with upload pending. I'm not sure if it is a bug relating to the rights to upload statement or not. For accessing content already on Stream it seems fine and is really useful for doing this on a mobile device.
I have installed and uninstalled this application trying to get it to work can't get past sign in keeps looping around and around( hopefully my password isn't stolen). starting to get upset with Microsoft because there's no way to watch the movies I purchased through Microsoft and if I use a third-party app I only get some of what I bought through Microsoft...
The app is good and efficient. It worked without any problems for a few weeks and then the videos being uploaded weren't visible. So please try fixing this glitch which would be very pleasing and helpful, other than this the app provides good quality of videos.
It is a great app for students to study in this app during these pandemic situations . This app helps us in finding the latest lecture uploaded on the app by our lectures. So, being a user I want to give a genuine advice of having folders type options so that the students can have ease in searching there preferred lecture. This will help us to get a better interface of the app. I know that your company is known for experiments and so I believe that you may take my advice in consideration.Thank u
It doesn't work off-line. After downloading videos they appear in the offline page but after a short time they disappear. However, if you download another video, all the missing ones reappear (for a short time). Also, it needs internet to watch offline (when they do appear).
