On my Galaxy S7, most of the time, when I try to load a soundfont, even if it is the default one, it will just sit on a loading screen. Same thing happens when trying to browse through folders. EDIT: I have noticed that this issue only happens when very large midis are loaded. This issue still happens on my new phone, a Galaxy A32 5G running Android 11. Also, it seems like this app doesn't run too well on Android 11.
This app is extremely useful for analyzing the harmonic structure of some favorite songs. If you are a composer, you are curious about how your favorite musicians wrote their material and you can find accurate midis, then there is no better app for this. Even better is you can treat the songs with a soundfont of your choice. Thanks for this app.
It took me a while to grasp how this app works as the user interface is quite unusual. However as you discover all its features it becomes remarkably useful: especially the ability to change the pitch and tempo of MIDI tunes as well as just playing them, and to export as WAV. It's the most capable MIDI player I've found for Android. Recommended
Need to be able to adjust background colour and the very light grey background text colour. I am able to change the currently played text but being able to see what is coming next is hard on my eyes. I use this app whilst outside most of the time. I need to be able to see all text clearly.... overall this is the best app on the market by far. I have in the past made other suggestions of which you have followed through with....
Great sound. The ability to add multiple sound fonts is awesome! The only thing I wish were better is the scanning function. It is not as straightforward as other apps like poweramp. I have already used it to transpose several pieces for guitar
Am using the app as a practice tool for myself and a little group in my neighborhood. I use Musescore to create our sheet music, and then have it export a MIDI file containing each of our parts/instruments. Then each of us able to independently use the mixer to mute different parts to help us practice our own part. Plus, of course, adjust tempo, set repeat loops, etc. We also use a custom soundfont as the Mountain Dulcimer is not in the general MIDI; and that feature works flawlessly.
Extremely well built app. Supports midi fairly well, however playback does have a problem. For some reason, instrument changes do not get sent. All the channels get played through midi as piano, despite the file and/or user settings being set otherwise. Yamaha PSR-240 with generic MIDI/USB converter.
Love this app. But: With Android 10, the features for downloading from a url in the clipboard seem broken. And, while I'm thinking about those downloads, it would be nice if the files were saved using the decoded path from the url. The url encoding makes filenames with (eg) spaces (%20) hard to read.
This program is really well done. UI is intuitive, the perspective modes make the tedium of editing and analyzing rather interesting, a lot of time was put into this. Well done. Kudos to the dev.
This software accomplishes far more than you'd ordinarily expect. I just wish one could more easily capture & save the results, including audio straight off my sound card. Oh, & I'd love a few more effects, beyond the Moons & Stars.
Just got some feedback from the devs. Missed an option in another screen. How to fix the issue: check if the following is enabled: "Always apply note transparancy..." (in settings "visualisation" -> "Black Midi - Use streaming mode" button).
Great! Works with many soundfonts. Although an issue I have with the app is that sometimes when I load a soundfont for a midi it uses the wrong instruments. Is there a way to revolve this issue?
Decent but unreliable Ever since this morning I cant properly load midi files, it's very bugged out on the pro version. Reinstalling doesn't do anything, needs an update to fix whatever is broken.
THE BEST midi app there is for Android PERIOD. I do have one issue however, when exporting to audio, it doesn't show up in the folder I saved it too.
One of the most, or even the most versatile MIDI players on Android - specially for people who want to understand the music.
Not like I thought it would be. Exported loops don't play right in other apps and exporting wav audio clips results in 0 size files.
I use this app for making 8-bit covers of classical music. the concert pitch really helps with my knowledge of standard frequencies.
Well done. Have installed a free soundfont sgm-2.01.sf and all my midis sound terrific. Very impressed with what I can do on an android smartphone. 5 stars.
Awesome stuff! It would even be better if I could export the midi files to high quality mp3 & if a playlist could be shuffled.
USB midi always play as piano sound. No matter what sound you choose (strings, brass etc) it always play as piano on usb midi device. I checked it on synthesia and it works fine there. Midi device is roland fp30
Very classic orthodox midi app for having fun fast. Loads standard usb drivers !!! Amazing!!!
I recently bought this app, having used the free version for a few weeks. I emailed the developer last week with some minor suggestions and have already had my feedback realised. Can't recommend this app highly enough - as a musician who needs to learn a lot of music in a short amount of time, this app has already proven and invaluable tool and far better than other MIDI players that I've tried. Having such responsive technical support has only made the experience more enjoyable.
