It's much like the old "Choose Your Own Adventure" game books. The creator found a perfect blend of story and game here. The look of it all is just right. Simple, yet beautiful in a way. The layout makes it effortless to read/play. The combat is fun, the writing style was great, there weren't any immersion-breaking grammar or spelling errors... I think I've spent a total of $14 or $15 on donations. It's worth more that, so surely everyone can spare $2 to help this talented person create more.
This is an incredibly well-written digital gamebook, reminiscent in many ways of the Lone Wolf Saga which I enjoyed so much as a boy. The characters, even the one-offs, feel unique, the mechanics of the game elements are interesting, and there is a great aesthetic created by the simple visuals and rich musical score. If I had one suggestion for the developer, it would be to have some kind of alert happen when the player tried to leave an area with an unopened chest. I accidentally skipped some.
I must admit that I love this game. I dont like paywalls, though. The first was only $2, and I really liked the game, so I let it slide. Then I saw four more things locked behind four separate paywalls. Nothing mandatory to complete the game, but it was still extremely annoying. I don't like to be constantly reminded by huge banners on the main screen that the dev still wants my money. $@#% off. Still, it's a very fun, cool game with lots of promise, and best of all, uninterrupted by ads. !-_-!
I actually played this before, and then deleted it, and after some, "cycles," I've stumbled upon this, and I've played it again. 4 stars for good play-style, and good narration. 1 more star, if only the free version is longer, ▪w▪, also IDK if it's because of the difficulty level or not, but whenever you meet an enemy, you are forced to engage battle. There should be a flee, or hide feature. Anytime-cast-able spells like soul reave should remain active until spent/exhausted in battle.
Bought the full version of this short/decent game. It plays like MUDs of the good old days; the player navigates rooms described by text, and interacts with mobs and environments by simple commands (which are buttons). The big difference between this game and that heritage, is that it is not multiplayer and that the character build options are so simple as to cripple replayability. In particular, your character can only have one buff/debuff, which is a major drag, especially in newgame+.
Maaaan, do I love this game. It's got almost all you need in a choose your own text adventure style. Maybe some more endgame stuff could help with replayability besides just restarting to go down different paths? Either way, it's amazing. All of your games are generally good, but this one shines vibrantly. I'm downloading it again for a fourth time to play through'cause I think I saw something about an Expansion, dunno yet, though. I've already bought the full game so hopefully it won't be too pricey, hah! Kidding, this game is definitely worth it. Kudos to you and all your future projects! Keep on rocking out 👍
This game is so very fun, although its paced more like a MMO then say a text adventure. My one problem is that the controls are a pain! Each action takes a few seconds to load, and clicking on an item sometimes doesnt work at all. It's practically game breaking for me.
At first I thought it was kinda repetitive in the beginning and wasn't sure of controlls but once I got into the rythym of things I really got into it, its quite brilliant but in my opinion the story and game play was too short. I think it was still worth the buy, just disappointed that it ended so abrutly but I do undertstand that it takes allot of time to develope game play. good job! and Thank You! I had fun I hope it continues endlessly! Lol.
By far the best text-based game I've ever played. A great mix of story, adventure, and action. Gameplay is balanced but not without its challenges. If aspects seem too difficult or easy then you are able to change the difficulty level. I also applaud the attention to detail! Only complaint I have is the grammar in some areas, but it's not bad enough to take away from the game. Overall, I enjoyed the experience and hope the developer considers making more games like this in the future.
I love this game I purchased it so I unlocked the entire story to support the developer and it was well worth it. I would definitely pay 5 to 10 bucks for it. It's also a great read as well, but I enjoy reading and text adventure games. There are some grammatical errors, but nothing that should hinder or bother you while reading it. I do recommend at the very least purchasing "no wait times" if your in a hurry and some of the forsaken arts as well. It makes for a very interesting game. All in all a job well done , such a good game like this is gonna spoil me and make me be rather critical of other games from now on.
No restore purchase option! I used to love playing this game and had to uninstall it a while back when I changed phones. Just got a chance to reinstall the game, where I had purchased everything available before, and now I have to pay for it all again... I'm not happy.
Good game, good concept, but much to rushed in the storyline and it's far to short even if you add in extra subquests. I finished everything in about 2-3 hours. Also for a game that costs about 6 bucks to play the full version it is kind of lame. Doesn't even include half-assed pictures.
Good start but disappointed by the greed of the developer. Almost everything is locked behind a paywall. You would think you bought a full game only to find out that yet another option to skip wait times is another paid option. Yet more content is behind paywalls. I bought the game and realized I still don't have all unlocked options. It's almost like getting cheated.
Love it, worth the $2, with one gripe. Some gear has amplificaton that increases the damage and mana cost of spells based on a dice roll and i hate it. If it was reduced and affected only damage it'd be balanced and good, but as is i find the mana increase far more trouble then its worth. (I understand it make battled shorter and on most spells increases dmg more than cost, still don't like it)
Very good game. Only problem I see is that you don't get enough health. Because of this you are forced to use the gear with the most protections since if you wear anything else you will die in like two hits. Even with good protections you end up having to spam pots to survive. Especially when fighting creatures with like 400 plus health when you have 22...
It's a nice game but there is something part of it that i didnt like. There's no like exp thing and level level at the screen its so hard to determine because if u fight monsters or wolves it be pretty hard to find or something thats the only thing I didnt like but I like the concept and the story especially the mechanics but its pretty hard if no exp thing by i mean exp is a exp counter on how much or when will you umm level next. HOPE YOU READ THIS!!!
I've played a lot of text based games in my life, but this one is one of the absolute best. Challenging, customizability, and an interesting story make this one worthwhile. My only complaint is that there isn't more of it, very eager for new updates!
One of the best games I've played in a long time. So simple yet so fun! Played for years, half dozen iterations in, level 104 and rising. Every quest, every beast, every treasure, every spell. Though if I had to give one critique, The basic 3 spells of the inspirations being identical, especially with most of them lacking a fancy passive like fire and wind have, does get a bit bland. Otherwise? Worth every penny I've spent on the spell dlc's and the full game.
