Ugh! New annoyance for this year: subtitles that I can't make go away appear at the bottom quarter of the screen! Yes, I have auto-captions turned off in my Android preferences. Usually completely covers the view of second base in the games I watch. And they still haven't fixed problems from last year.
Completely nonfunctional. I loaded the app and used it during a minor league game. It seemed nice. Every attempt to use the app since then has been a fail. No box scores, no 'at bat' function, no ability or link to buy tickets. This is a great idea with poor execution.
App is basically useless. Can't watch any video. It just keeps saying "There is an issue with the content you're trying to watch. Please try again." Tried updating the app, tried on several different days, no luck. It provides a hub for game schedules, links to buy tickets and merch, and links to buy food at the stadium, but that's about it.
Update from a review I wrote last year. The developers did exactly what they needed to do: revert back to the way the app was. Having play by play "gameday" on the app instead of sending you to the website was precisely the reason I use the app. That in itself automatically bumps this app from 2 stars to 4.
Very frustrated! I was watching a game on my Samsung Galaxy 9 and accidentally closed it. Then it wouldn't reopen. I called tech support and was on the phone with them for over an hour speaking with a gentleman who could barely speak English. He was very nice but had no idea what he was doing. He then connected me with his supervisor who I could understand but nothing he suggested worked. He then said he'd have his supervisor call me and no one ever did. MILB.TV doesn't work on my laptop either
I pay for MiLB.TV. I can no longer watch games on the app as all I receive is "there is an error retrieving content". I've uninstalled/reinstalled, cleared data/cache...nothing. It's unusable right now.
App hasn't allowed me to watch any game this year. Just gives me an error. Works on the laptop just fine, but the phone app is garbage compared to last year.
The update fixed the ability to turn the subtitles off finally but got rid of the ability to advance the video by a few seconds making rewatching games pointless. Also clicking on the gameday button to open the box scores on andorid doesn't work
Box scores and game days don't load. Just go to the team's website instead - this app doesn't work. Trying to load any Brooklyn Cyclones games and it doesn't do anything.
The most pathetically inept app on my device. If I didn't have to have it to manage my tickets, it would be deleted with pleasure.
For the second year in a row, seriously deficient. The GameDay and linescore links don't work, and neither does the link to email support to report the problem.. Very poor for a professional organization.
Can't watch games with a subscription. What a waste. Don't waste your money. You'd think with all the money baseball makes, they could make a functionable app
Playback controls are unusable on Android 12. Interferes with system navigation. No full screen or PiP? Copy the code over from MLB...
Can definitely tell MLB doesn't care about MiLB. The difference between the 2 apps are as different as night & day. Really hope MLB retools MiLB First Pitch to mirror the technology and ease utilized in the MLB App
You have to use app to get MiLB TV on your phone. But app won't play video. Keep getting "Try again later..." errors.
2 years after pisting my initial review, you STILL can't cast games to TV. Have to pick favourite team every damn time I open the app. Is this a professionally made app?
This app used to have forward and backward buttons for five or ten seconds. Please update the new version to include the forward and back buttons.
One of the reasons to have the app is to be able to order food. That doesn't work. Standby for other features that don't work.
Love this app, but wish there was a Roku version for my TV and an apple TV version fo my other TV and a google TV version for my 3rd tv.
UPDATE: two years later, some of the things I mentioned in 2019 still have not been fixed. Just... Wow. Original review: Truly a terrible app. Navigation is unintuitive, the screen is not automatically set to 'always on' when watching games (seriously?), the notification bar doesn't disappear when watching games, clicking on the 'More' menu shows a screen that has two screens overlaid on each other, making it unusable... This is a stunning piece of terrible app design, especially in 2019.
There is absolutely no reason to download this app in its current state. 1) Does not send push notifications, even when all permissions and settings are set to allow on phone and in app. Troubleshooting that has worked for other apps does not fix the issue. 2) Nothing is internal to the app anymore. every option links to the website in the web browser. Previous versions contained everything in the app.
On the website accessed via my laptop, I can see what games are being played and a t what times. This does not seem to show on the app. All we seem to have is the list if games in each 'class' and the word, 'scheduled' or 'live' appear. Far better being able to see a list of ALL games and times and then you can plan and not miss.
I have tried emailing, calling, etc. You still refuse to help or fix the app. Every game I try to watch on MiLBTV on my phone the video plays for a minute and stops. Then I have to press play again. Then it runs for another minute and stops again. The time on the lower left of the video screen is only a minute behind the time on the right and that is how long it runs. However, when I watch on laptop thru website it works fine. You idiot! I just told you I have emailed many times with no help.
This app is pretty useless. Used to be pretty decent, but I swear, they made it less usable. They're leveraging a lot of web pages instead of a true app, and those web pages don't work. For example, the Standings page - you cant look back the first half standings. It defaults to the AAA team, and it's a pain to switch teams. The main page is a the score of the latest game, tyen you have to acropl down past three huge ugly for sale buttons, and then you get to the other teams. Nav is just bad
The new layout design of this app is terrible. everything looks more scattered around. The old version was easier to find and see stuff. plus so far since ive been using the new version it hasnt been sending me notifications of the game after i have turned the notifications on for my teams. plus when i click on things to see stuff about the teams it sends me to the web pages instead of seeing it within the app.
Totally worthless since it was "improved." You can't even look at a boxscore without leaving the app. You can't switch between games without jumping through hoops. The app wasn't perfect before but at least you could access boxscores and easily look back and forth between games.
Every since the most recent update, the video streaming does not work in app. I typically can only watch minor league games from my phone. It is very unfortunate that I bought the season subscription and am unable to use the one feature that I can't already access for free via local radio stations.
