Mindroid

Mindroid is an AVS (Auditory Visual Stimulation device
- aka Mind Machine or Psychowalkman) app for Android.
NEW
- Material design
- Unlimited number of programs
- Online program library
- External glasses (USB connector)
- Google Cardboard support

It provides each of your brain hemispheres with a signal (either audible or visual) with a slightly different frequency in order to stimulate your brain waves. For more info on this phenomenon please refer to this Wikipeadia article.

The aim of this app is to induce either relaxation, meditation, creativity or sleep state of your mind depending on the selected program.

Audible stimulation is full-featured and comparable with single purpose AVS devices. Headphones needs to be used in order for the audible stimulation to be effective!

Visual stimulation is experimental. In order to perform visual stimulation close your eyes and match the red spots on your display with your eyes.

NOTE: Mindroid is fully compatible and encouraged to be used with Google Cardboard or any similar or any similar home brew solution.

You are kindly welcome to use Mindroid for FREE if you are fine with the default setting. To take advantage of all the available programs and to mix them with the different environments, please consider purchasing the Mindroid Unlock for a minimal Play Store price. We will very much appreciate your contribution and use it for further improvements of this app. Please install the Unlock on top of the current installation (do not uninstall Mindroid).

Thank you very much for downloading Mindroid. Have fun!

CAUTION! Mindroid shall not be used by users suffering any epileptic or cardiac symptoms.

MIndroid is a great life hacking app which may helps you to relax, get more productive or with your insomnia, stress or sleep..

Great app, good support from the developer too.[ I had a bug where my wallpaper got stuck on the mindroid logo, that turned out to be a problem on my end, but he really thinks allong and helped to solve it.] If you need a boost I can recommend the energizer with C4 wave on 40% and Boris Brechja on 60% as music. Perfect match.

Great for trying to concentrate in a noisy environment. I love the option for setting the sound level beneath music played in other apps. Haven't tried the other functions.

Was able to add 40+ "Programs" under "My Programs", which is better than the 3 for free and 5 under "pro", which is better i suppose, but i don't know anything about this strobe therapy voodoo yet. Too early. Want to explore more. The first few felt surprisingly relaxing tho.

Best combo of ease of use and functionality I have found on Android..It's easy and intuitive to create complex programs, even allows you to use uetooth LED glasss and sleep masks, etc.

I like to use this for study - if I've been having trouble concentrating it definitely does help me focus. If I have any criticism, it's that I find that in a few programs some sections of audio are distracting. This is an issue caused in part by my own brain wiring: where a section of audio is distinctive I find myself anticipating the section's repeat. it's just not quite random enough, but it is not a huge problem, I can just stick with the cat purr. It's a powerful tool for me.

This is a great app but needs two improvements to become a 5 star app. There needs to be a random function which does different hz and switches between side to side flashing and synchronized flashing at random. And the built in programmes should also incorporate this side to side vs synchronized flashing style (at the moment they're all just one or the other all the way through which is quite boring). The excellent Mindlab machine had these functions so I hope Mindroid can be updated to match it

It gives me what laying in MRI tube does. Thanks to this app, I'm able to turn off my brain, see and feel "nothingness". My heart rate usually drops by about 20 beats with relaxation option. Unfortunately I get a light, tight headache from the lights therapy, but that's due to lack of appropriate settings and body position from my side. Wish VR boxes for 7" screen mobile phones was still easily available after they kinda died out in 2017.

I really like this app. I do, however, have a few questions. How do you activate "mind on steroids"? How do you actually create a program ? How do you get the sounds to go up and down? What are the meanings of the number and letter combinations? How can I create personal programs without sight? How do you know you've downloaded a program? Do you save the program by typing its title in the edit box? How does "my program" work?

Honestly I like the way you can carve out 10 minutes to focus on breathing, I'm not exactly sure how well the different frequencies actually affect your brain though

it turned the screen brightness way up. I closed my eyes and placed my phone in front of my face to try it anyway and it was painful. the flashing lights felt like they were searing my eyeballs even behind my eyelids. the rapid flashing and humming also made me feel really panicked. which was the opposite of the desired effect - I'd chosen the relaxation program to try out. all in all definitely not recommended.

Flashlight feature needs a frequency limit adjuster and/or temperature limit adjuster so it doesn't bring down the entire OS.

4 stars for the extremely relax feeling it provided. 1 star lacking because I wish it allow users to modified the blinking point, not only horizontol but also vertical. I use it before sleep, phone over my face and the phone edge has put much pressure to the nose when Im trying to lay my eye below the blinking point. If i could adjust the blinking point vertically, then the phone bottom edge could be placed a little bit higher and wont hurt my nose anymore. Thank you

I've been using this for a few years and I love it. My kid has mental health issues, and I turn it on when she is upset or fighting with her brother. It always seems to diffuse the situation without them knowing why. I even used it once when my mom was upset. Took 2 minutes before she took a deep breath and calmed down. 😄 I've also been using it to manage my anxiety and, placebo or not, it has always helped. I just really wish there was am iOS version so my daughter could have it at school

I love this app. Really helps me to meditate, sleep, increase energy, relax, depending on what I am doing during the day/evening. I paid the tiny bit extra to get the other options and very happy I did. I've tried many sound wave apps and this is my far the best.

I like this app so far, it really does help me fall asleep faster. I've only used the audio portion of it, so I can't comment on whether the flashy lights do anything, but I can turn on the relaxation mode with monaural beats, and I'm out like a light.

Wish I could give 6 stars. It's the best app of this type in the store. Being able to adjust, add/delete/subtract, and fine tune to your personal ear and mind taste is what make this app head and shoulders above the rest. Well worth dropping some money into but works great as freeware. Thanks devs!

Love the app and helps with my adhd. I would give it 5 stars if there was an option to turn on Do Not Disturb while a program is running. I have the mask led light thing from their website. Always been a pleasure to work with.

This App is just unbelievably brilliant! I discovered it soon after a bad head injury, where I fractured my skull and got knocked for six! I developed a sensitivity to light and spent alot of time with my eyes closed. I knew my brain had been knocked out of synch and knew I needed help but none was available on the NHS. I remembered years ago trying out the Dream machine.which is pretty much the same, butindroid is better! I couldn't believe my eyes when found this app! What a journey! Thanks X

I've only really used this to help with sleep, but has been reliably effective in helping me fall asleep after waking up in the middle of the night and being unable to fall back asleep on my own. Has helped save me many hours of sleep I would've lost otherwise.

I have been using mindroid for more than 3 years now. I primarily use it for sleeping. Haven't been able to get the Mindroid goggles in India yet. But even without that this app is amazing. I use it with Bluetooth speakers for maximum audio range

Loving this app! I purchased the external sleep mask to go with it and it's very intriguing. I find that it works as advertised. Very effective! Highly recommend getting the sleep mask or glasses to go with it.

I used to use this type of therapy with special glasses during appointments with my neuropsychologist. I was having trouble with sleep at the time, and I still struggle with it every once in awhile. This is amazing and nearly the same as the office treatment!

Why does environment sounds like the noise is cut into pieces? Is incredible annoying and ruins the experience. It's like it pauses for 1/3 second and then increases the volume, constantly.

Dre. M. Nov 1, 2018

While the jury is apparently still out on the science behind mind machines like this, I can only speak from experience and Mindroid absolutely works for me. The programs work fantastically, and the integration with Sleep As Android and wearables really help a lot too.

I've been using this app for a few years now (and other apps from Urbandroid). This is well worth the payment - a clean UI, functional custom programs, and a bunch of pre-installed ambient sounds for meditation. Highly recommended!

So your options are to balance a phone on your face or purchase a 100 dollar mask. The mask is preferable if it works. Take it from me, ive purchased two types of mask now (wired and wireless), they don't work. They "blink" off and on randomly disturbing any sort of meditation it is supposed to help with. No, its not the program, im talking about full on, 1 second blinks, randomly. Waste of money and time.

I've been using this app for straight up years and it even caused to me write a literature review on psychology's current research on brainwave entrainment through auditory stimuli. Play around with it and see what settings work for you. Don't expect miracles but over time you'll associate each rhythm with a different consciousness state helping you dive deeper during meditation or take a power nap.
