This is a good tool if you know the mineral name. I just found this app, and I'm impressed with the number of minerals and content on each. However, I don't see any way to search for a mineral based on crystal habit, hardness, streak, and color. Regardless, I will purchase it.
Wish it wasn't quite so full of ads. But the information is pretty good. They also reference the source of the information incase you wanna cross check. You really NEED an option for search by image though. I really need to look up my own collection too.
App has some great photos and a lot of information. But way too many ads. 2.99 to unlock ads? Why don't you just charge for the app so that I don't have to waste my time with it. The ads are intrusive and annoying and you know it!
Its just a collection of wikipedia entries of crystals. It's good if you need to have a list of crystals, but other than that you'd have more info on each individual crystal looking it up on a search engine
A VERY PRETTY APP. Earth's 103 natural elements just did their thing, combining in different ways to form compounds, when the Earth was young. MUCH MUCH LATER, we came along. We dig around and find the minerals. We see them with our eyes. Some of us find them beautiful. THE APPLICATION ITSELF is VERY NICELY DONE. BIG THANK YOU to the developers.
An excellent app that is very useful to the novice Rock junky. It made me capitalize that. Anyway, it's a great app and I download it over and over when I lose my phone because it is that good.
To be frank, I thought I was downloading a completely different kind of app. Even though it wasn't what I was looking for, it had information that I needed. An excellent app despite the fact that you can't exit out of the bottom ad.
Where's the entry for Citrine (ie. yellow quartz)? I'll use the app for a while before reviewing again. But the 1st thing I looked for, wasn't there. I have a Citrine and wished to know more about it. Its probably not listed, because there's no Wikipedia entry for this stone. That should tell you how much effort went into designing this app.
Tons of minerals, but I wish you could sort by rarity. It would be nice to see the most common ones.
Really fair for easy to learn and effective research. I would think that mostly everything you need is explained therein through a Internet source but then what else would you want! Thank you for this great wellspring of knowledge and resource.
Informative, however I need to occasionally take photos and have them identified, so adding that as an option would be awesome.💚💚💚
Its a "nice" app, pictures refuse to load no matter what, the information half the time if FALSE, and its copied from diffrent websites. It looks nice but still.
Outstanding app!!!!!😞 Great opportunities for All age groups to research and find precious metals and stones on free field trips. 🎥 🗽🎄🎄😄😁🗽Glad all the schools and colleges are closed, giving parents and All concerned to re- orientate the abase thinking of the masses!
Fantastic app, the information is brilliant I'm so glad I found this app, I would like to see some for Gemstones aswell as I collect a lot of Gemstones and would love to know more on them too, however this app is definitely going to be one of my favourites, thank you
So much more to know about the world of the earth's earth than that of the things that I have observed in my long history of living on it all the time and times in which I was able and willing enough for me to have a better chance of getting to know I was looking at it all the time when it was the first thing that happened to look at me Too and my mind has changed and I don't want it to go away but I feel better about myself as I am putting my feet on the ground up to a different angle of dirty!
It's helpful but the pics are too small to really try to compare so it's more time consuming clicking the link.
Informative. I would give it 5 stars, but if I have no idea what the rock I'm holding is, I have no way of looking it up. In other words, it gives me good Intel if I already know what it's called. Give me the ability to identify and this rating will go to 5 stars.
Awesome for keeping a list of your crystals on favorites. Missing some man made crystals. Overall a very good app that describes the stone as well (nacl).....so you know if you have a sulfate or phosphate crystal.
Brilliant app. Very comprehensive. Fantastic presentation. What I've been looking for, for a long time. Thank you.
Very good amount of knowledge a little bit lack of images. Especially the real size of the crystal.
Full of very good info. I wish there were more pics. If you're a newbie at rockhounding this is a great app to have.
So far, I'm impressed by the detail, the amount of info and chemical compounds. It even describes where they're found. And has a large variety, and links to similar substances, and categorizes each mineral, including the formation types and laboratory findings.
Very instructive for new horizons, except images are too small and quite clear.
informative and interesting. with historical references and scientific explanations it covers everything you would want to increase your knowledge of any particular mineral
Quite detailed history about individual species .its full of information, great work..thumbs up for the team who did that
Since the worst app I've ever installed and pictures that were accurate if any of The Rock's some of them are not even even really rocks it's horrible
Has an enormous list of minerals and crystals images could be better and easier to see up close.
Not only that it's full of annoying adds. The pictures do not match the stone. When I opened it, there was a few pics of stones next to the wrong names. For example, there is an amethyst cluster in place of Allabogdanite. Not informative at all, every description is ripped from Wikipedia.
