Key Features:
• Starting point: You will always encounter an open area with your first tap
• 5 game modes to choose from: Easy, Medium, Hard, Extreme and Custom
• 25+ gorgeous retro themes: Unlock these themes by earning coins. Earn coins for flagging mines and winning rounds
• Quick Flag: Turn this mode on to tap and quickly flag cells
• Zoom & Pan: Pinch to zoom and drag to pan around. Use the Overview button to reset your zoom
• Tons of Settings: Customize your game with tons of settings. Change your zoom sensitivity, set the functionality of the New Game button, customize the top bar to quickly access your favorite buttons, turn off the 'hold to flag' option or set your desired Minesweeper theme along with many other settings
• Stats: Keep track of your high scores, win percentage and total play time
• Hints: Are you stuck? Press the hint button to highlight the area you should focus on. The hint button only shows you areas where you are certain to progress. It won't show areas where the outcome is unknown
• Save/Load: The game will automatically continue where you left off from upon being launched
• Continue: If you hit a mine you can continue from where you left off for 50 coins or by watching a video ad
• Leaderboards: Keep track of worldwide player scores
Functions:
• Flags: Press and hold on a cell to deploy a flag. Press and hold again to remove the flag. A cell will never open if you click on a flag
• Question marks: (Disabled by default) Press on a flag to turn it into a question mark. Press on it again to turn it back into a flag
• Hints: The hint button will highlight the surrounding of a cell which is already opened, and from which it is guaranteed to make progress
• Tap number: Press on an open cell to reveal the cells surrounding it. This will only work if the amount of flags placed around the open cell is equal to the number on that cell
Coins:
• Earn 1 coin for 1 correct mine flag
• Earn bonus coins for completing a game
Save & Restore your themes with Google Play Services:
• Save your themes by logging into Google Play Services so you can restore them if you happen to switch to a different device
• Make sure your themes are saved by checking your achievements. If an achievement is unlocked for a particular theme then that theme is saved
Make sure you are logged into Google Play Services (if you are not automatically logged in):
• Click on the leaderboards button located in the Statistics window
• If the game doesn't log you in or prompt a login window after a few seconds close the app
• Go to your device's settings and login to Google Play Services from there
• Open Minesweeper Classic: Retro and click on the leaderboards button again and it should log you in

They thought of it all. Rotated numbers for fun landscape mode playin. The customobility of the game means on the go I can have a quick brain teaser or at home a long drawn battle of wits. I think its also the cleanest and simplisted mine sweeper out there to enjoy. I use a dark mode easy on the eyes and can play for hours!! Nice way to end the night after a long boring day!
Simple and Satisfying. I would prefer less ads but I don't mind having to watch an ad to undo a mistake so I don't lose a game. It's easy to build up coins anyway. I love that the grid can match your screen size. Would recommend if you're looking for something to keep your brain busy.
Great fun. Guess-free games have arrived. The only gripe is in finding the setting to retain the flagging mode. Algo timeout of thirty seconds on preset Extreme game is too short to play a guess-free game and so it refers to random. The graphics in the settings are a bit too extremely low res for my tastes. Great gameplay otherwise!
Absolutely loved this game, its perfect to waste a little bit of your time between doing some stuff. Also the guess free mode is great because it helps with clearing the 50/50 chance on the tiles. Im putting it on four star before because the ads where an ad gonna play and after you close it the ad kinda pop out again making the ads experience kinda annoying, but after the update it seems this doesn't happen. Still putting it on 4 stars because i want to ask can we make the row bigger than 30 ?
amazing app, i've been playing for at least two years now and i still love it just as much. only issue i've ever had with it is a recent bug (?) where vibration turns on by itself when you open the app, but i'm sure it's easily fixable. otherwise i love it and i love the new daily reward system!
Fun game, mostly true to classic. Customizable layout is neat!Fun themes to unlock. Seems like an abnormally high proportion of random guess situations compared to what I'm used to. Idk if this is bad programming, or intentional to get you to pay for "continues"... And yeah, ads with sound - boooo
Nice, configurable Minesweeper with original feeling. But WHY does it take 800 Megabyte (!!!) storage space after a week??? Game scores, settings and in-game coins are not being saved into Google Games. All data lost after flushing the gigantic cache space. Sorry, it would have been, but it's not.
Super customizable, premium isn't too expensive as a one time payment. Would love to see the option to change the size of the numbers on the tiles. Not a single theme that is easy on the eyes with jumbers that big. Font customization would also be a nice addition.
Too bad about the ads. Game would have been good. After a game it plays a video ad with audio, you can't skip the ad, if you touch the screen during the ad it goes to play store, when you finally get out of play store and back to your game it makes you watch until the end of the ad. Screw this I'm done. Uninstall.
The best minesweeper app on the play store. Custom games allow you to change the rows or collumns (9 - 30) and the mines (10 - 270). There is a coin feature where you can purchase themes as you play more (the first theme to unlock is a dark one). There are heaps of settings that you can choose to customise your game or visuals. No other mine sweeper app contains this many features. Suggestions: Seeds to share boards with friends. Better stat infomation about custom games.
This is such an amazing classic game. I'd say that the only down side is the ads, BUT they are very short and Skipable. If the rating wasn't a star system I'd rate it a 10 out of 10. You can't go wrong with a game like this and the casual experience you get feels really good. Personally I think that this game is worth the download and massive thanks to the creator of this great game.
Great minesweeper game. Minimal ads only when you fail or end a game. Board skins are an added bonus and give you something to spend coins on. Coins are pretty easy to get as well. Overall I enjoy the experience.
This is the classic Minesweeper app I've been looking for. The graphics are pixel-perfect and the extra features are great without being overkill. The ads are also non-intrusive.
Probably my favorite of all the minesweeper apps I've tried. Only thing I have issue with is that there is no way to reset stats if I'm interested in stats over X number of games unless the option is hiding from me. Otherwise, great minesweeper app, thanks!
This game borders on being illegally addictive! If you remember, and enjoyed, the classic Win-95/Win-98 Minesweeper from Microsoft this is essentially the real deal. Even the adds have a purpose: They allow you to drag yourself away from the game so you can get work done and/or get some sleep. 😉
Been playing on this app for two years, but the "best time" stats broke in the recent update deleting all my best times and I can't even make more Edit: Thanks for the response and the fix. You guys made a great app, and I use it all the time
All of a sudden the game has a weird border that allows me to see the grid under the settings which is nice but it's become glitchy and won't let me move the board around when zoomed in. Minus 1 star until fixed then 5 again
After further playing, this app might be the greatest iteration of minesweeper there is. There's an insane amount of features, themes and if you scroll down in the advanced options, you'll find an impressive amount of small options to make the game what you want it to be. I have played over 3,000 games. More often than I win, I lose due to multiple guesses needed per game or accidentally click trying to flag. Currently working on finding ways to play fast and work around the phone handicap.
It's great and it has the cutest graphic. Its retro style makes it all the more thrilling to play. It brings you bacj to the old times, but if you never knew ehat minesweeper is before (like myself), this game will help you understand the game and you will enjoy it. It only takes little storage capacity and it could be played offline, so it's the best game to play on airplane flights. I guarantee you'll have a good time playing it, even as a beginner.
this is the best minesweeper game, it has that classy look while looking... retro, it's so good that this is the only version I wanna play, it's not buggy, doesn't have many ads, you can change your themes, it has like a lot of customisable options, and I meant a lot. you can set it to your preferences. I am speechless get this game if you want to become better and have a good time whilst doing so
Occasional pop up ads(suprisingly not often) do bug me. This game would be unplayable if not for the zoom function, which i wish i had in regular minesweeper. The game, has a fatal flaw that sometimes requires you to randomly guess which square has a mine on it, as it is sometimes impossible to work it out, but that isn't this games fault in particular, that's just how minesweeper is. Optional and easy to obtain currency lets you purchase "skins" for the game.
It's exactly what it says it is. It works well and has useful features. Very nostalgic. Also has a sizeable selection of themes, though most require unlocking or purchasing. Works well on both larger screen like tablets and smaller screens like an iPod touch. Also works very well with a mouse on small screens as you have more precision.
I loved playing other Minesweeper games but yet this is the best one! The gameplay is of course the same as many others, but the design of it and animations make it way smoother and visually appealing. Also I like the themes feature, it helps a lot if you're playing in a dark environment so if you choose one of the dark themes it reduces eye strain. Good job!
Update: This game is great! At the start, I've faced dozens of frustrating guessing moves on Hard and Extreme, and decided to rate only 3 stars. The devs actually contacted me so fast, and told me there's an option to generate guess-free board. I can consistently win ever since, and I love spending time on this classic game. 10/10 would recommend. *contact the devs for the option. It's not perfect yet, so it's kept as a secret/beta testing for now
So far so good. Overall perfect. Unskipable vid ads. But not too frequent. So thats fine. Lots of settings available. You can set it up to personal taste. Including themes. An option to save few custom layout would be great. When the game is complete, little window showing gold should also include best and average time of that tile set. (saved custom layout included) Couldn't find the right setting first but dev gave the tip. Thanks man(/woman/Apache helicopter)
Great app that's just a simple game of minesweeper with tons of customizable options. Ads don't appear very often and when they do it's when the game ends. Only minor downside is that zooming in and moving the board seems very choppy on my 90hz display. I hope that it would be possible to fix this but otherwise the work here is great. (Also the dev seems very responsive to the reviews and such)
Usually I dont review games but I figured I'd make it short and to the point for anyone reading. It's literally the original minesweeper game, that's all; and that's what makes it as addicting as it has always been. The developers dont feel the need to pump it full of ads, or add random "features" that change the game in any way. Sometimes the best thing to do to an old game is to leave it alone, and that's exactly what they did. So thanks for that developers :)
The perfect gaming app and the only one I have installed on my phone. I unlocked all themes already, and I'm now grinding my way to the top of the leaderboards. I played hundreds of games already, and never came across a faulty board, don't trust them negative reviews. Not many ads which is fantastic. I've become a master at minesweeper thanks to this, and I'll keep playing until I'm top 1 in playtime.
