MINI Connected

I was able to get the app to connect and enter my new car. However, the app pops up to the warning screen every 10 or 15 minutes while I am driving the car and opens on top of my navigation app and on top of any phone calls. When it opens to the warning screen, you have to click Skip before it will present the login screen. It takes a bit to get it to minimize or close all while trying to drive and either view my navigation map or participate inba hands free conference call. Frustrating!!!!!!!!!

Asides from the initial setup not being smooth [seems that there's a delay in linking your car to your profile, but the system flags this as an error]; this app is most helpful for the basics. Great for quickly checking your car's status, to scheduling the comfort ventilation, and adding destinations to your Mini! The app will even notify you if the remote commands work or fail, so no guesswork! So the setup piece is the only reason that the review has 4/5 stars.

Completely useless. The car has Bluetooth, yet I have to plug in a usb cable to be able to connect it. Even when I connect the cable, it shows me the fuel level, mpg and thats it. I can see that in the dash of the car, why would I use the app to see that. Add some useful functionality please, this is ridiculous.

Latest update has killed my ability to use this app at all. It was barely usable before. I've deleted the device from the car, force quit the app, force quit Bluetooth, cleared cache, rebooted phone, turned off the car and tried connecting again from scratch... nothing. I can't control Spotify from the car, none of the Connected apps even appear on the car - no calendar, no destinations. Poop.

I only have a base 2016 Mini hardtop, so this app doesn't really do much for me. The destination feature is not useful and the time to arrival has a poor update frequency compared the products from Google or Apple. A modern smartphone has a wealth of info available, but this app doesn't take advantage of it or the features are not available to everyone. As it stands, this app is not useful and other competing apps provide much more functionality with a less clunky interface.

I have a 2017 Mini and this app is useful for planning multiple stops on a single trip, then dumping them into the nav when you get in the car. It does add some useful things in the Mini dashboard, like calendar, BUT... It does not have the same support on Android that it does on iPhone. The developers have chosen not to implement some of the driving excitement tools, etc... The noise it makes when connected is glitchy and annoying, it should be removed. Overall I am a bit disappointed that it is not a full version of the app compared to the iOS platform.

It worked just fine when i first bought my 2017 countryman, but just the other week I noticed that when I sent directions to the car with this app, they never showed up. Next, I noticed that my miles and fuel levels were off. So I signed off and back in and my car is gone from the app. I cannot re-add it. Re-installed app as well with same results. I made calls to MINI who then told me to call BMW who told me to call MINI. You call yourself a luxury company? Eff off.

Horrible. USELESS. There is a reason why the world rates this app at 2 out of 5. Now I cannot log in to the app. The app connects via bluetooth to my phone, but I can't do anything because I can't log on. USELESS. The "reset password" doesn't work because it tells me "...something went wrong" and will not continue to the next step after entering my email. USELESS

This is one of the worst apps I've ever used! Took almost a month for BMW/ mini USA to set up my account correctly, when I bought the car last year. Now I noticed the app isn't connected to my car. I click the app to open and it says it's a new app. But, not to worry they've carried over my username and password, all I have to do is click to create an account. Same BS as last year "an account already exists". Extremely frustrating!

The Spotify connected app used to work about 50% of the time. Now it doesn't work at all and hasn't for months; it just shows a blank screen. I've seen from some Spotify community posts that most of the functionality works now for BMW drivers (minus the HUD). It took updates to the actual Spotify app and the Connected app to get it to work. Any word on when we can get whatever updates that the BMW version received ported to the MINI version?

We love our Mini, but what a poor excuse for an app. I created an account, but the app wouldn't verify it. Tried several times with zero luck. It repeatedly gives validation error, please try again. I've reinstalled the app numerous times and receive the same error. I can change my password, but can't log in. I've never rated an app with one star, but this deserves it!

Love this app. I can check if my car is locked without getting out of bed. I can also send my appointments direct to the car even before I get in it. There are so many other cool features. If you lose your car in a car park you can get it to flash the lights at night or sound the horn by day. There is also a small fan that you can activate to remove some if the heat before you get in it. Brilliant app.

After reading some recent review, I think some issues need to be clarified a bit. You need the appropriate Connect options on your MINI. You need to activate the Connect option in your vehicles's setup menus. Up thru the 2018 model year, your MINI doesn't have the hardware required to support a wireless data connection (BT is voice only). No app can change that !!! For this, your only choice is a wired data connection (ie, using USB). On my 2016, I have the Connect option, I activated it, and I plug my phone in using USB. With this app it allows me to use features like accessing my Google Calendar on the dash's center 8.8" screen, and link my calendar into my NAV system for guidance to my scheduled events. Works great.

Useless. Very difficult to connect. Once connected pretty much all it can do is show you how much gas you have. Might come in useful if the gas gauge ever fails, I suppose. Does not remember trips. Forgets saved favorites every time. Usually loses a trip during the trip, so any use there evaporates. Doesn't do anything else. Apparently vehicles made before 2018 cannot connect by Bluetooth and your VIN won't be recognized in the account. Try putting that message in the app instead of here.

I finally got it work on my android. At first I thought it was going to be the same as the experience others were having. I deleted the app and deleted the car I downloaded and reinstalled the app. I got a bunch or error messages or it couldn't register this car. I was getting frustrated and even thought I might get an iPhone (Lol). I persisted and finally it allowed me to register my car and opened up remote services. I think there's an issue with the software. My advice is to be persistent

Doesn't work at all Cannot register to my account. Same as a lot of others. 2019 countryman, so it should work. Seems to be just a gas gauge, again, like a lot of others. I agree Mini. There are a lot of android users in the mini universe. How bout showing us a little love. This looks like a nice, useful app. BUT IT DOESN'T WORK!!!! If you can get it working, I will give more stars. Keep trying

They removed the functionality on my model. It is on my 2014 navigation model, but they now claim that I cannot associate the app with the car and now I have software on my computer dash that is bloatware. What a load of rubbish. These people need to understand that waving old features in front of of their faces (or in their cars) just puts a consistent, bad taste in their mouths.

Worthless. Embarrassing for BMW. Used to connect to Spotify-now Spotify doesn't show at all. Occasionally app will connect and I can access the app itself and my calendar. Can't even read car data. Have deleted vehicle, went through stupid proof of ownership/re-registering process, deleted app, re-installed app several times, cleared cache, etc. All a colossal waste of time.

This app is awful. It literally tells you what you find on the dash but even less. It has a last location function but only works if you are actually in the car. What is the point of the app or its functions. BMW would be better off deleting this app. It is an embarrassment.i literally cannot think of any function that makes it useful

I had nothing but issues so I uninstalled the app. It constantly asks you to log in every time, it wouldn't register my Clubman using vin, but each time I'd connect it in the car it could connect and get my details. The fact there's no android auto or Spotify connection just makes it pretty pointless. You expect more when you have a premium vehicle!

Used this app with a 2020 Countryman and had no issues. On Nov 25 I added a 2021 model and I don't have access to remote lock/unlock, headlight flash, horn, climatize, or send location. The only info visible is driving stats, fuel range, and last location. My spouse has a Galaxy S10 and has no issues. I have a S9.

I love the new to me Mini but this app is putting a sour spin on my feeling for the car. No matter what I do, it keeps telling me that it can't register my vehicle with the valid VIN numbers that I've entered over and over again. The worst thing is all the effort I'm putting in and from what I understand the app doesn't really do anything with Android.

Disappointed in this app on Android. switched from Bmw to Mini and had the bmw connected app. Thought because the developer was the same the app crossover would be similar in my Samsung s9 but i was so wrong! While the remote, lights, locking/unlocking and horn service works i can't play Pandora or Spotify through the Android version. my gf has an iPhone and the app works as described. Guess Mini does not think it drivers use Android phones?

Not sure what exactly people use these features for, I never had any urge to send maps, locations, playlists, etc. all I wanted was to unlock my car while standing in front of it, and it could not communicate with the car. Truly useless

I could not get the app to run on my Moto g6. it starts to open and then shows a White screen and appears to lock up. The Connected Classic works but I was hoping to be able to use this version with my 2017 Cooper S. If this app becomes usable, I'll give it another shot but until then, I have to give it one star because it doesn't work.

I have a 2019 mini s Florida edition, (i think) will I ever be able to use my SAMSUNG NOTE 9 Android phone with this system? YOU TOLD SOMEONE TO WATCH FOR UPDATES, BUT WHEN ARE THEY SUPPOSED TO COME OUT? are they working on anything for Android support? also the only thing I think is really weird is that my note 9 does not fit in the charging spot. In fact a lot of phones don't fit in the charging spot.

Initially had a very difficult time getting this to work. Turns out their systems were having issues for quite a while. i finally received an email on my registration to the connected program. Now the app is working. Remote services are fun!

Bizarre Android app... Needs iOS app to register your mini properly and to gain functionality. Had I not accidentally stumbled upon the Alexa option in the car menu, I would have missed that altogether. After registering with the iPhone app, I can lock and unlock the car and set climate via my android app...

2016 Clubman with navigation, app is absolutely useless, the VIN is established within the app, but when connected via USB nothing works, the app hasn't updated in over 10,000 miles and none of the apps work. totally useless app. not even worth the space it takes up in my phone.

The android version of this app is different than the apple version. You don't get the hub in the android version which limits what you can do. It's bad enough the Mini Coopers don't have android auto, you could at least give us an app that has the same capabilities as the Apple app.
