A good Sudoku implementation, but not the best. The first puzzle I tried on each level was much harder than it should be, but then got more doable after that. Also you need to highlight the pencil marks of each number as well as the full entries. It is tedious having to click thru to convert all single entry pencil marks as you near puzzle completion.
Great sudoku. Challenging games, minimal design and plenty of settings to make for a great experience. The only minus point is the repetitive, off-tempo background music. While I appreciate the ambient feel, it's a little annoying. But it can easily be switched off, thus not enough of a drag to remove a star from the rating. Keep up the great work!
Great selection of sudoku. This app is good for anyone who wants a challenge. I also love that I can switch to night/dark screen mode. One possible suggestion for the developer is to consider having an option where a player can watch an advert for a free number. This is because some of the games are very tough and I currently have to just abandon for a new game if I'm stuck.
I'd definitely give this app 5 stars if it wasn't for all the levels of difficulty being generally the same. It is nearly just as hard on easy as it is on hard. The design of the app is amazing. The minimalist features are really visually pleasing. It's just weird that sometimes medium is easier than easy. Other than that, it's a great Sudoku app.
OK. This game is about as perfect as a free sudoku app can be. Three caveats. First, I do not like generic app controls for number entry, but I see the reason for the way they are. I will adapt. Second, though I am pretty good at this game, the first 'easy' puzzles weren't at all easy - though this seems to have improved. Lastly, I would really like an easy way to save the progress on multiple puzzles. A really great app. Glad I found it.
The game works great, but it can be very difficult to change screens when you need to navigate to something else temporarily or even exit the game when done playing. The normal three buttons at the bottom of my screen disappear when I'm playing and I often can't get them back unless I shut off the screen and turn it back on. But I like all the features built into the game.
probably the cleanest and most well designed sudoku game out there. All the others try to add too many visual flourishes and distractions, but this one focuses on the game while still looking nice! Would love to be able to save ges and come back to them later, tho. Right now, starting a new game will delete an existing game. And it doesn't always sign into Google Play Games at startup, so Im not getting achievements properly (not that thats a big deal).
Really really good. Excellent minimalist UI. which is awesome considering this game requires you to focus. The gameplay is phenomenal. That being said, here are a few suggestions I hope the dev would take into consideration: 1. Introduce daily challenges; one for each difficulty. 2. Could we have an option to highlight the correct input like we get for double entry/wrong? 3. difficulties need tweaking. I found some hard ones are inside Medium.
I absolutely love this app version of sudoku. I've tried several others before downloading this one and, I must say, they pale in comparison. This game is relaxing, offers a calming dark theme, and includes useful and easy to use features such as the pencil, row highlights, and - of course - the ability to turn off features you don't want to use (i.e. the timer). Also has optional duplicate number highlights and error highlights if you're a newbie trying to get into the game. ☺️ 10/10
Great little sudoku game for those of us who just want simple sudoku and nothing else. My only annoyance is that if you accidentally hit a number or some of the buttons like erase, it will put that number or erase any box you touch after that. The first few times it happened, I got very confused. Now I get it but I wish I could turn that feature off. I also hate ads that automatically start blasting music without a way to stop it. Really loud and annoying.
This is an excellent sudoku for a strong player. It has a very nice interface. There's a lot of control over what it shows you. It allows both number-centric and space-centric entries, which is nice. The games are hard enough. I don't think you can pause a game to try a different game. But otherwise iy see no missing features.
The graphics are fine. Gameplay needs improvement as the hard level is not all that hard, typically only one maybe two challenging moments per puzzle. Game controls would be great if accidentally touching too close to the edge of a square or somewhere outside the puzzle didn't force you to reselect the number you were using. This is beyond annoying.
ads are to invasive, you could place ads, but best not to combine them with a request for ratings. some kind of hint system might also be good. also saving the game from time to time so that you don't lose it all when Android shuts it off for some silly update and now it doesn't run anymore, crashes every time I open it
Awesome, fun, minimalist game that is created with love & can be played offline. Other than the full page, 30 second, intrusive popup ads displayed after each game is won, this is my first choice in Sudoku play.. I get that dev's believe they need ad revenue to offset the cost of maintaining an app. Smaller ads that don't take over my phone would be great. Keep up the fantastic work.
I love this app. super entertaining. I dont use any of the extreme solving methods, so the hardest mode is not really for me, but I am very impressed with the fact that I can almost always find a logical way to solve these puzzles. I despise sudoku puzzles in which guessing is essential to solve the puzzle and I don't run into that with this app very often. 5/5 👌👍
Awesome! Simple game that doesn't have features that get in the way. There are enough features to do what i want though which is take notes, insert and remove, and validity checking. I find the medium difficulty usually takes an understandable amount of time to finish, so I think the variety of Sudokus is good.
A beautiful and intuitive (but not exactly "minimal" - does a sudoku app really need music?) sudoku app. Good and mostly consistent difficulty range (except for one ridiculously hard "Hard" puzzle that I had to take to a solver.) Reasonable one-time pay-what-you-can for premium. One request: option to highlight matching pencil marks when a number is selected (like the blue highlight)
Minimal Sudoku is easy to use & fun to play. It is very easy to switch to and from 'note-taking' or rough draft mode. The undo button is a nice feature. Some of the 'EASY' level puzzles are easy while some of them are more like moderate levels I've played elsewhere. The game has not had or caused any problems on my Nextbook tablet.
I have only had this sudoku game for a short time, but it's already the best sudoku app I've used. The layout is super clean and easy to use. The difficulty of the puzzles is more challenging than other games I've played, which I enjoy, because I like challenging myself. There are also a variety of changes you can make to gameplay through settings, some of which cannot be found in more popular sudoku apps. Overall a great game, which I can see myself playing for years to come!
I'm so impressed that this is a single-developer job. The interface is really clean, and the puzzles are well designed. I'm playing on Easy mode and they are still head scratches. I also love the amount of choice in settings, it makes the playing experience very personal.
Very minimal and I appreciate the night mode because I usually play before bed. It helps relaxes me and the night mode is much less jarring than the regular white screen. I took one star off for gameplay because I find that not all the puzzles given for their respective level of difficulty are consistent. I play on easy mode and can finish a puzzle in about 5-10 minutes but sometimes I get a puzzle that I believe should be classified as intermediate.
Overall, I really like the design of the game. The controls work really well, and there's a lot of freedom to use as many or as few digital aids as you want. The biggest issue for me is the difficulty rating. I really have to question where the puzzles come from and how they get rated, because I've definitely come across "easy" puzzles that require a lot more time and effort than I'm used to. Usually I like a challenge, but if I'm selecting the easy puzzles, I'd like them to actually be easy.
Really pleased we this game. Simple and clean graphics. No adds! Love it. I would love another level after the insane mode. Edit: I reached a point where the achievements do not unlocked anymore, so I do not have challenges anymore and the insane mode might be a bit too easy... So I will find another Sudoku app but I did really enjoy this app a lot and if the achievements come to get unlocked I will certainly give it another try. Thanks for this game!
Inaccurate difficulty ratings. I am unable to complete hard without really advanced techniques. so I leveled down to medium. Towards end of puzzle once again, called for advanced techniques. Also upon uninstalling and reinstalling realized puzzles aren't given at random. Same starting puzzle for hard. This is lazy. Can't believe high scores aside from nice interface.
Great game. Dark mode is wonderful. Game plays extremely well. Best sudoku game I've played. Numbers are large making it easy to see your hints. Hints are easy to place and remove automatically if one of the hint numbers is used in the same row or comes up in it's line of sight. The blue highlight to show all of the same number in the grid is a great feature.
