5 stars for price, service, switching, plan, and everything. I switched from a major carrier, and haven't looked back. The actual app, though, leaves a little to be desired. I LOVE the interface. The easy view of my remaining data is great. But the app rarely loads properly! It's like I can actually see my remaining data maybe 10% of the time. Usually it's just a gray, empty graph that hasn't loaded. Keep up the great service. Please make the app less glitchy.
I switched from AT&T because of poor coverage and to save money. Activation went smoothly but I couldn't make calls or texts and coverage is worse than AT&T. Spent 2 days going round and round with customer support trying the same things that don't work. The app kept disconnecting because their service was so bad and I would have to start customer support session all over again. They also made it as difficult as possible to get my account number so I can transfer my number back.
(Update): I finally fixed the account issue and all seems to be working fine. I can log in the do what I need the app to do... I cannot log into the app whatsoever. Also whenever I try to set my password (yes after almost 3 months of service I am still not able to finish setting up my account) after typing my new passwords and verifying that they meet requirements the button does absolutely nothing... I have tried on multiple phones but still nothing....
I've had Mint for almost 2 years now. I love it. I haven't had any service issues, even when I completely moved states. I also haven't had any issues with the app. So far I've earned $215 in renewal credits and just renewed for another year, plus shortly after I joined Mint increased the data on all their plans for FREE. No rate increase, just data increase. The only thing is I wish you could make payments of any amount prior to renewal, that way I could pay monthly instead of all at once.
Great service! I have had Mint since late 2019... and I have recently renewed for this year. The app is very easy to use & has a great design. I love that I never have to worry about coverage. Have moved and service is just as reliable. I also have referred 3 family members (all in different states than me) they all have praised the coverage and have been customer with Mint for 2 years now. I also love their commercials and emails. Funny, great price, & easy to use.. winning combination! 👍👏
Activation nightmare! Waited almost a week to receive the SIM card, and it doesn't even work! You have to use their app to activate the SIM card it crashed four times and I had to call the customer service twice. After spending an hour on the phone they tell me they'll just mail out another sim card. So now I'll be 2 weeks with no service, what a wonderful experience so far. 1,000% regret switching services
So easy to install - I'm 80 and did it myself. I didn't lose a thing when I transferred. Best customer service on 800 number I've ever had. Best phone service. Of course, best price. Wonderful never having to remember to pay my bill each month. I've been using the service for 6 months and now it's going into another year. I got the 18 month plan when I started. So glad!
I gave them five stars because it was good service and I had them for a little over year. but I'm looking for something that has more actual unlimited data in terms of mobile calling, texting and mobile hotspot. Visible. So far the only annoyance that I've had sometimes you'll lose signal but considering what your payin it pretty good coverage and if you try to leave or switch you have no access to your account number which I feel that you should always have. You have to contact customer service
Edit: App doesn't work on wifi/VPN for me. I need it to work all the time. Ok, it is just making me login again. Works fine after that. Has worked fine for me for a year now and has went smooth to setup another year (after relogging in). Has worked well for me so far in 4 months switching from Cricket. Gained hotspot, volte phone, and it's been faster in my situation.
Save your time and money. Zero customer support, I've been hung up on several times. Trying to resolve an issue of terrible network connectivity (data, calls and text) but no one seems to want to help. Have been trying for days to get assistance with the matter. I highly suggest sticking with the cell phone provider you currently have as this feels like a big scam. Worst part is I'm out money for buying 12 months service. Will be going back to Verzion as they actually have a support that helps
I only have two main problems with the app 1) the apps just stops working for at night and keeps telling me to check my connection even when I have bars.(I live in the west coast of the us) 2) for some reason my hopspot speeds becomes slow when I use up my personal highspeed data even when I have highspeed hotspot data left. Other than those problems the app and service is okay.
I've been using this provider for almost a year now and it's been pretty good. 5g in a lot of places. But they no longer offer $15/month unless you buy it a year at a time. This was the one reason I switched to mint. It's a shame prices are rising. Coming upon my nearest renewal and my app starts glitching so I can't see how many days I've got or see my plan so I Uninstall the app thinking it'd fix but instead I can't log in and it says my number doesn't exist.
getting service in some areas that were hard to get with at&t but the trade off is my service goes in/out sometimes at work and switches to LTE. But compared to what I used to pay and now it's great!! no network is perfect so save yourself some money!! no problems anywhere else so far!!
Both my wife and I have Mint Mobile. I have a Pixel 2 she has a Samsung. My wife's service works great, mine is absolutely horrible. My phone will always attach itself to mint's "edge" bandwidth instead of LTE. Edge provides zero service. Occasionally and with effort (turning service off, airplane mode on, airplane mode off, service on) I can get it back to LTE for a few minutes. LTE works great, but again it will always switch back to Edge. Otherwise mint is abysmal and very frustrating.
Such a terrible service. The calling over Wi-Fi doesn't work somehow. It always drops the call after about one word. I've also now gotten 10 texts telling me to text Setup for it to set up messaging "automatically" but texting Setup just sends another text saying to text Setup. This is that only carrier I've ever seen that doesn't automatically work when you insert a sim card. You have to go through the settings and add the network manually. It's ridiculous.
Support has long waits and don't really know what they're talking about. Chat support with their bot is beyond useless. Wasted time and money buying a phone from them that didn't have the features promised. Also can't start the next month early if you run out of data, can only buy overpriced data packs. Only actually worth the price if you pay by the year.
Made the switch a year ago! I'm so glad I switched. Now I've had a newer phone and a full year of service. I was with Sprint before paying $1050 for my line a year. Mint was one payment of $360 and I didn't have to worry about the bill all year. I was able to put my "phone bill" money in a saving account so I got interest on my money and had easily paid for another year. Service has been better! I used to drop calls all the time with Sprint. With Mint I've had great service.
I just switched to Mint yesterday, and what a mistake that was. Their WiFi calling doesn't work at all, even though it's enabled in their app and on the phone. I've tried all of the fixes their support people offered and then some, but it will just not work. Now I have to get a refund and find another carrier yet again. WiFi calling is necessary for me because there is no signal at all where I work, but every time I try to make a call, it says my phone isn't registered on a network.
Same service as the big guys for me in this area. Glad I started with 3 months instead of the year, but wish I had started with a month. Once you get your service, your stuck with your choice until your time is up. And if you misjudge like I did, it is way too expensive to add more data. Other than that, I've been happy with my choice to switch to Mint. Wish they had better English speaking customer service, but that's par for the course anymore I guess.
Excellent experience for half the price! The app is nice and straight forward, although basic. I did not have any problem with speeds and calls. I brought my number from my previous carrier and it only took 5 min to set up, if you have everything ready. Mint does what it promises and that's why they got 5 stars from me!
The service worked well from October 2021 to around March 10 2022. It didn't matter where I was -- city or rural towns -- I'd get a fast connection, much unlike my previous provider that had huge outage areas. Now Mint's data connection is slow and constantly dropping in north-central Iowa. I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt for this being a temporary thing (tower maintenance), but I'm going to shop around for a new plan when my renewal date comes up if it's still this bad.
Horrible service, horrible customer service, horrible business practices. They turned my phone service off on the morning of the day my 90 day trial ended. The sent me two notices to renew prior. I was planning on getting it done when i got out of work. They didnt wait, they didn't indicate in any way. I get bills all the time and everyone has a grace period. These guys caused me to lose customers and business. They demanded a payment for 90 days plus another activation fee. I would never refer
If you expect to use all the "high speed data" before end of month do not use Mint. I chose unlimited but they still throttle your speed after 35gb of use and when they do it becomes almost unusable... can't watch videos and pictures, emails, and websites take forever to load. They offer a 7 day trial but no refund/return after... well this issue would not have revealed itself within 7 days and that's where they get you. Customer service provided no help just essential told me I'm out of luck.
Update: they sent me a new sim card, took way too long to activate it which was this whole frustrating process, and my calls still drop all the time. DO NOT DO IT. My calls constantly drop. CONSTANTLY. I have never had such bad service since I've owned a cell phone, it's not worth it at all. On a 15 min call it almost always drops at least once, if not more. DO NOT DO IT, ITS NOT WORTH IT.
On the 7 day trial now on my compatible unlocked phone and the service is trash. I bought the sim card at one of our local Targets this past Saturday night. Data did not work until around 19 hours later and then it stopped today! No problems sending and receiving text messages. No problems with making outgoing calls but all incoming calls goes directly to my voicemail. I have called customer service twice and I spoke to someone outside of America each time. After troubleshooting my device(resetting my network etc etc) over the phone, both calls were disconnected or dropped. Good thing that they have a 7 day trial period for just $2. No need to waste any more $ securing any of their plans after the trial period ends. #Totallydisappointed
They when I joined mint they took my number I ported over to them and accidentally gave it to another new customer. Now my data, information, etc may have been stolen or accessed by a random mint mobile customer. Also the app requires a password to login even though you can't create a password when buying a plan by default. Do not use their eSim method, it is very dangerous if things go wrong.
I switched from Boost Mobile because their "upgrade" slowed my data to almost useless, and could not get anything resolved. I switched to Mint because it appeared to be a good deal, and the coverage was supposed to be great in my area. Not the case- it's painfully slow, and and my hot spot is pretty much useless. I gave up trying to get any help from Customer Service, and realize that this apparently the best Mint can do, and not to expect any better
Excellent service. Love that I don't have a monthly bill anymore. Never experience any lack of quality, clear calling. No problems when not connected to WiFi having to worry about data on the unlimited plan. It is especially nice being single as I get the best rates without having to have multiple lines for it. Highly recommend!
