With every version of the app, you will get new features. In other words, MIOPS is a platform for high-speed photography rather than a gadget with firm capabilities.You can use MIOPS either as a stand-alone device or you can enjoy the capabilities of MIOPS to the fullest with the Android application. The basic modes are Lightning, Sound, Laser, Time Lapse, HDR and DIY. The advanced features are the Scenario and Cable Release modes.• The Lightning mode will enable you to take pictures of lightning events. You can also use it to take pictures of events like fireworks as well.• The Sound is the perfect mode to take high speed pictures using the capability of triggering your flash unit with MIOPS. • The Laser mode is the solution for taking pictures of high speed moving items like wild animals, birds etc. When the laser beam is broker, MIOPS will trigger your camera.• The Time Lapse mode takes all the pictures need for a time lapse video with great precision and no hassle. MIOPS will do all the work for you.• The HDR mode takes pictures with different exposures, so you will get a final picture with great exposure all over the frame.• The DIY mode is the mode where you can hook up external sensors to your MIOPS. Your options are endless: Temperature, Pressure, Humidity etc.The advanced modes are Scenario and four different Cable Release modes. These features are only available if you control your MIOPS with the Android app.• The scenario mode enables you to combine different sensors to create custom scenarios to be executed sequentially. Each scenario can contain up to five steps to be executed and you can store up to three different scenarios • There are four different cable release modes in the app: Cable Release, Press & Hold, Press & Lock, Timed Release. All these modes will let you to control your camera using your smartphone.

Just recived my MIOPS Smart, updated the firmware, and started using the app with no problem. The only problem I get is when I turn off the Bluetooth on my phone then on again, the app can't reconnect anymore, and I have to restart my MIOPS Smart for the app to reconnect. Finally, I wish you add a confirmation dialog before the app closes, when I press the Back on my phone.

I just received my smart trigger. It says I have to update the device however everytime I try the app crashes. If there is no app there is no ppoint in having this trigger. . Ighfbas well by a $5 wired trigger. I'm using a Huawei P20 Pro

Just got it, tried to update the trigger and it constantly crashes. Useless app. Devs said to reinstall app, still crashing. Cannot update and therefore cannot use full functionality since my brand new device is already behind in firmware and a new feature requires a higher version than I have. Also, you cannot update from computer anymore which is unfortunate. Beware.

Whilst the MIOP Smart itself is a great gadget and the iPhone version of this app works flawlessly with it, the Android app is unreliable when linked to my Galaxy S9+ via Bluetooth. More often than not, my camera screen blinks when triggered via this app but doesn't fire the shutter. Bluetooth linkage is hit and miss too.

Can't keep bluetooth connected. Phone can find it and connect to miops, but disconnecting it in 2 seconds, when trying to use app. Says device not connected.

I used to love it! I didn't realize it started requiring registration until I was at the top of Mt. Fuji! It was just work and now it is collecting how I am using it? I hate it, 101%

I agree with the previous reviews that said the recent December update has broken the functionality completely. The App now refuses to find the MIOPS even though the device is transmitting. Edit: This issue has now been resolved. Increasing rating.

I was fist disappointed my new miops trigger would not work with my Samsung Galaxy S 5 because the app was not functional. The new updated app works just fine. Thanks guys.

I have waited 4 months for this update to fix scenario mode. I have just installed the new version and now the App will not even find the Miops. All i see is the Demo option. The Miops unit is transmitting Bluetooth because my phone can see it in Bluetooth settings, but the App can't see it. So now i have lost all functionality. Not a happy customer. 😠

Increasing rating and updating my review: The developers responded and kept working to find fixes for the issues. I'm glad to say that the app is now working as it is supposed to. Still hoping for some new features to be added in the future though.

It's always disconnecting. Only one time did I get a + sign in senernio mode. Like so many vendors they make apps for ISO device and never fix it for android. Using on a Galaxy 6. Maybe an update is coming.
