Miracle Modus

"It goes ding and you feel better." -
- Jesse H., noted fantasy author and spouse
The Miracle Modus is a source of hypnotic rainbows and soft bells. I'm autistic, and I wrote this because I wanted something to mitigate sensory overload. I find mathematically-patterned rainbow lights very soothing. After I showed it to a couple of friends and they had similar experiences, I decided to publish it.

The first time you open the app, it will make a bit of noise and draw a bunch of lines, squares, and hexes. Once it's done this it should have a guess as to how fast your device is, and be able to perform decently. This is a little unreliable still; improvements are planned.

More testimonials from users:"I can stop watching this whenever I want to, I just don't want to right now." -
- Magical Princess Lory, webcomic artist"It changed my life and perception. Whether it was for the best remains to be seen." -
- brightwave, app developer"I was so overloaded my face went numb and I couldn't get up off the couch, so he showed me the app and said to give it a try, and I felt relaxed for the first time in days. If you are stuck on the couch whimpering, try to slide this app under your prostrate face as soon as possible." -
- Luka D., webcomic artist"It's so cool I can't even look at it."
- Lerg, app developer

USAGE:Watch the pretty lights. Want different pretty lights? Tap in any corner, then tap the arrows to change modes. Most modes are at least a little interactive, but sometimes it is pretty subtle. After you've explored a bit, you may find you prefer some modes, or don't like some of them. We've thought of that!

SETTINGS:Tap in any corner, then tap on the gear to bring up the settings page. This allows you to change (or disable) the sounds, enable or disable modes so you only see your favorites, or re-run the benchmark phase if you think it got bogus results.

SUPPORT:See the support page. Feel free to email suggestions for display modes you'd like to see, as I enjoy writing new display modes. If you wish to report the app being slow or erratic, be sure to tell me what device you've got, and what it's doing.

KNOWN ISSUES:Performance is not as reliable as I'd like.

PRICING:The app is free. It used to have a donation feature, but it wasn't worth the effort of maintaining.

ABOUT THE NAME:The name "Miracle Modus" is used by kind permission of Andrew Hussie. It is a reference to a device in his webcomic "Homestuck".

I really like this app, with the exception that it monopolizes the sound system even when its own sounds are off, and its sounds don't work as best I can tell. I really wish I could have it up with music in the background. I'm running an old Galaxy S5 with LineageOS to keep the OS up to date.

Not built for younger devices. While it may have been a good app for us in the past, it just hasn't been maintained sadly. Would love to see it in working order on today's devices though.

Well, since I have an Amazon tablet it wouldn't work, but I tried anyway. It looks like a marvelous little doodad, and I figured it might help with my anxiety or just keep me occupied (I'm very easily entertained). It would be miraculous if this could be modified to be accessible for Kindles and such. Also, five stars for the Homestuck inspiration. I love it!

Really cool concept. Nothing happens when I tap anywhere but it's okay because I like the rainbow swirls I see. I'd love if I could be able to see the rest of the options. Thanks for making this! Edit: never mind I figured it out, you have to tap in the very very exact corner. I love the other modes! 5 stars!

Sadly doesn't work. Displays an error message upon startup that says "Detected problems with native app libraries". Would have loved to try this. Too bad.

I love this app. I'm Autistic and this is really good for when I'm overstimulated and need to focus in on something or when I need a distraction and it's also just really good for stimming. Best when paired with music

Man it's been a while since I used this, but I had a rough morning and almost punched myself in the head stimming, and this helped me chill out. Seriously, thank you.

As one that is also Autistic, I must say that your creation of this app is rather interesting, but more so attributes a calming effect to me regardless of sensory overload or if I'm having an off/bad day. Though both "Knights" settings could use an alternation to touchscreen reaction rather than having it on a setting of self action. But, apart from that, I grant you kudos on developing such a unique and wonderful application.

I really like this app. Chills me out when I'm super stressed. I think the only improvements that would make it better are customized palettes so you can pick the colours you want from a slider or something. Also I have issues with sound on my device, it won't work at all. I don't think that's a fault with the app though. It's probably my phone. Other than that, its great. Thanks!

The only thing that could improve this app is if you could replace the slightly annoying music with something of your own choice and have the images (can't think of the right word) match the melody. I'm Autistic. Edit: Just discovered one can turn off the music, so background play from an MP3 player app should work.

My favourite modes are Fire and Firebugs based on how much you can affect them, some of the others aren't interactive enough for me to really be calmed/distracted by them, but that's just me. Also, if you were ever to make a new version of this app, it might be cool for there to be some option of having the phone vibrate a bit, maybe in response to touch? I'm not sure how possible that is but I figure it would be a nice extra source of sensory input and could be possible since phones have the ability to vibrate anyway. :)

Then ran through constant spiral shapes that were very random and basic. The app never progressed past that point. It WILL NOT change to any other design by tapping or anything else. I have an ASUS ZenFone 2 Deluxe. It has plenty of speed and memory, but this app did nothing.Actually, it reminded me of the graphic level in 1980s video games. Bright colors, but no smooth operations that I could ever relate to being relaxing. Got it for my son, he watched it for about 30 seconds and said delete it. Sorry.
