Mirroring OB for KENWOOD

Has worked fine for me unlike the actual unit which works when it wants to after about 1.5 months. Videos look great to me. Samsung S9. Controlling the screen however via head unit can be a pain but you get used to it. Wish we could do two finger operations such as zoom and stuff but I ain't trippin about that so much. Hopefully they add that kind of capability in the future if it's possible.

I installed this to connect my DMX125DAB car unit to my Sony Xperia L1. Only 4 stars because there is no screen message on the phone saying "ready to connect", and on first connection using the USB input on the car unit there is quite a delay with the car screen just blank - it would be easy to assume the connection isn't working. Once the connection is made the app works fine, allowing the phone to be used from the car unit touch screen. I installed a "set landscape" app to ensure the car display is always in landscape format and I use Android Auto to give me Satnav, music and phone all in one place. A point to note is that the park sensor function switches off the mirroring display when the handbrake is off. Kenwood UK advised me that this is a safety feature to prevent viewing moving images when the car is moving.. The installation diagram shows that the park sensor wire is earthed when the park brake is on and the park brake switch is closed.

Hasn't worked for my Google pixel 4 since installed this afternoon. Heavily disappointed. Tried everything from reset, restart, updated software, uninstall reinstall, nothing works and it's highly frustrating because I've already paid for it and can't even send it back to swap it over. Going to contact Kenwood directly about this issue. The function is useless!

I have downloaded the app and when I open it it does nothing and there is no buttons to navigate. Extremely disappointed as have spent a lot of money on the new stereo for the car and can't use all of the functions. Also reading through other reviews it seems I'm not the only one. Why have kenwood not responded to these reviews and fixed the app.

I don't recommend this app. Only giving one star until it works with my note 20. I brought this head unit and spent an extra $500 redesigning my console so I could see the screen better to mirror the screen on my phone only to find it doesn't work. Everything else works but if that's all I wanted, I would have brought a cheap head unit and not changed my console. Again I don't recommend it until it's fixed.

Only worked once. No connection since. Absolute rubbish. So I contacted jvc kenwood customer services for advice because they clearly don't read this. They sent me instructions to do a software update and reboot of the head unit. Yep. It didn't work so no change there. Very disappointed with kenwood. Thought they were better than that.

Horrible app. Doesnt connect. When I go to the samsung website, it has a link to an app that looks exactly like this that doesnt have the OB on it. It says to download that app to connect, but when you follow the link to the app it says not available in the United States. Whats gives? I have a Samsung note 9, and a Kenwood DDX 8706s, both new, and compatible, yet it doesnt work. Kenwood, please help... other video sources play, like the dvd player and such.

sm-n76u (note 10 plus 5g) on android11 3.1ui touch screen and actual touch point is way off, is there a calibration or fw update to fix this? would the optional remote allow me to navigate the device? also for those having issues with streaming protected content and that annoying mirroring permission confirmation i wrote a review on bestbuys product page for a few workarounds

My phone connects, but it won't stream Netflix, or Hulu. It'll stream regular internet videos and YouTube, but but those 2. It's very annoying. You get a black screen, but you can hear audio and see subtitles in Netflix, but Hulu app won't display at all very disappointed with Kenwood on this.

Phone has better definition than the receiver(s9+ vs kenwood dmx125bt) 🤦‍♂️Would give higher review if streaming videos would play on screen when mirroring.. Netflix Hulu HBOGO etc video is not on screen (can see menu and loading screen and hear audio, but no video, just a dark screen) Some youtube videos will play and some won't. Videos saved to phone are fine. I got this kenwood specifically to watch Netflix during my downtime in the car. Completely useless unless this is fixed.

EXCELLENT MIRROR APP!! Picked up a Kenwood DMX125BT stereo for Jeep GC Ltd. Followed instructions for stereo and downloaded this app. Worked right away. Loaded a 125gb Micro SD card with FLAC files. Connected my Galaxy Note 9 (Android version 10/UI version 2) to stereo, the app automatically opens up and VOILA! Screen mirror. I play my FLAC files thru the USB Audio Player Pro app and works flawlessly!! Screen mirror Google Maps, Chrome, Texts, Weather and all work GREAT!

Works on my phone with Android 9, but doesn't work on my wife's phone with Android 11. Have followed instructions in the app to ensure background running etc as I did with the older phone. Head unit recognises a phone is plugged into usb, but instructs to down load the app (which is already installed and running). Such a disappointment considering the headunit was an xmas gift for my wife after her factory unit died. Emailed them, will wait and see.

Works on anything up to android 10. If you have anything above that then don't bother. I contacted the developer who offered no solution. And stated that there was no plan to update the app further. If there is an update it should include Bluetooth connectivity mirror. Currently a very poor app

Hello again, few days ago I wrote about the problem with mirroring the screen. I sent email to Kenwood and their answer just helped me to fixed the problem. "Have you connected the park lead (green) to the handbrake so that it is earthed ? With out this no video will be displayed" I posted here just in case hopefully helps to others with the same situation. My apologies for my first post here when I gave you one star. Now the app works fine but four stars because can't change the aspect ratio.

App has stopped working. Plug phone into the radio, app starts and then tells me there is a problem with the app. Uninstalled and reinstalled several times. Still don't work. Horrible app support on Kenwood's part. Phone is a pixel 4 just upgraded to android 11

Good one. But when connected to car touch screen, you shud give option for phone display to turn off, Also, everytime I start the car or change gear from reverse, phone alerts to enable the mirroring. It shud happen automatically

App worked on 3 year old phone. Changed phone to a much newer model and it doesn't work at all. Tried uninstall, reinstall, changed permissions, battery saver and so on - app just won't work.

Really annoyed with Kenwood. Never usually buy their products. Wish I hadn't now. Specifically bought for the android mirroring. Updated the firmware on the headunit and still my Galaxy S21 will not connect via the USB. The instructions within the app don't seem to apply to my phone. Pay the extra money and buy a head unit with Android Auto.

I hook my phone up and asked me to go through the disclaimer then tells me the app is no longer working. makes me force close it. very aggravating this thing is not been great since day one constantly asking me if it's okay to mirror the phone I wish there was an override so you could just get through that option and why the hell hasn't this been updated yet. Now all of our phones are four or five updates in and this thing hasn't updated since August very disappointed

Doesn't work at all. I did everything the app said to do. I turned on all necessary settings and permissions and still nothing. The whole reason I bought my car stereo was to get this feature. I will never buy another kenwood product again.

Poor app. Disappointed. Whenever plugged in have to agree to a disclaimer. No longer syncs with the stereo. No longer does what it was advertised for on Google pixel 2 xl

This app works when it wants to it's always kicking my phone out and I always have to restart it and that's even when I use the USB cord it's frustrating and it's more irritating due to this being a upgrade from what I had it's not something I like having and I wouldn't suggest anyone to buy it

Cannot get usb screen mirror to work whatsoever. Have tried 3 different brands of android phone and when connected all that comes up on the screen is "parking off" really frustrating and disappointing

Terrible, not working with p30 android 10. Waste of money buying the head unit. *UPDATE* have now updated firmware on head unit via Kenwood support site and a usb stick. Now working as it should. Would be nice to have it full screen rather than the aspect ratio it is though.

Had the pixel 2 and it worked great but upgraded to the pixel 5 and it doesn't work at all. Never opens. Last updated over a year ago so any phone that's come out recently probably won't work

Can you fix the new android update. Was working great until my phone updated to android 11. Note 10plus No update been talking with kenwood about this they are aware of this problem for the dmx125bt, some of the kenwoods other models work with android 11 after debug tree node was activated. But with the dmx125bt model it does not work, and also the update firmware they have is dated back to 2019, i have the 2020 model of it so it already has the update included. This app needs to be updated.

Works as advertised. must connect phone to HU via USB for it to work. it's not clearly stated in the ad and just read manual carefully.

Working great on adroid version9 galaxy s8. Connected phone and within a few seconds it displayed on the screen and also allows the touch screen to control the phone.

Worst app experience. Poor connectivity and no stability while establishing connection. Not at all stands for 1⭐ also. Hopeless and useless app for my OnePlus Nord Android phone.
