My Bluetooth shows my misfit as connected but the app will not sync and update any activity. It then pops up asking me to file a report but when i try to submit that gives me an error. I used my misfit years ago and stopped because syncing became an issue. Today I decided to tey again and beyond the initial sync when I set it up (that did work) it utterly refuses to sync. Seems others all have the same issue. Idk if the misfits themselves are trash or the app is. But useless
Misfit was fantastic in 2015 when I first started using it. The activity tracker was accurate, the app was simple, but sufficient and reliable. Over the past 3.5 years it's gotten worse and worse. During that time the app and fitness tracker are unable to sync about 80% of the time. I've continued to try using Misfit with three different phones, going through a ton of debugging steps every time I want to sync, and it still doesn't work most of the time.
Used to work fine until the last update in July 2019. No app updates since then going on a year now. Most apps have pretty frequent updates, so this is bizarre. Often will randomly have difficulty syncing but then work fine with no issues. It's generally not your unit but the app itself. It will indicate that it's your problem on your end though when it's not. Frustrating but it's free. I've had my flash for many years so it's okay for the time being. Don't waste your time contacting them.
The watch is fine. except in bright sunlight, then it's useless. The app needs work, lots of work. Not very intuitive, lacks features, requires large amount of storage space. Better choices out there, but this one is quite economical. ---- 5/16/19 Had this watch several months now, and it's still working fine with the original battery. You don't need to carry a spare with you everywhere you go. Although the functionality is rather basic, honestly, it's probably all you need anyway.
It's ok. I got my device as a holiday gift, so I can't really complain about value - but I sure wish it was more accurate. For some reason it's not able to read tap dancing properly. I'm not sure if it's dismissing the rapid movements as errors or what, but it reads an intense hour-long session as "10 minutes of light exercise" (if it detects the exercise at all). Meanwhile, a leisurely stroll to the park is read as moderate or intense. Take the data with a grain of salt...
I love the app when it works. However, sometimes it won't synk and there are times when changing the batteries and disconnecting and reconnecting the Bluetooth won't work. If you send in a support request, 3 days later they send you an email back saying the are sorry you are having trouble. Try changing the batteries or disconnecting and reconnecting the Bluetooth. I have to delete and reinstall the app itself to fix it. But overall.... It's great.
I don't have other apps to compare it to, but I like it for my Ray. The recent updates though made me uninstall from my phone because it always wants to be on in the background and wants too many permissions (maybe they all do?). I use it on my tablet and sync once a day. With recent updates, it won't turn off when I close the app and my tablet says it is continuing to run in the. background, so I have to force stop it after use. I didn't have this issue before.
Regularly the Shine 2 is not able to sync with my phone despite multiple attempts and turning bluetooth on and off. Also, you cannot add other activities like using an ellipical. Poorly designed. I preferred my Jawbone...too bad they went out of business. As for using it as a watch...what a joke! the dial moves so much in the holder, it is impossible to keep it aligned so you can tell the time. I read Misfit is discontinuing the Shine 2...so not surprised!
Good for counting steps/hand movements and that's it. Put my weight in wrong because it doesn't do stones, but the only way to change it is to show a weight loss. I lost 3 stone in a day! I had a 5 pound tracker that did sleep, alarms, heart rate, calories etc. This expensive one does none. The only reason the band is the one I use is because the battery lasts months at a time. Wouldn't buy another.
This app is near perfect. I love being able to set the triple tap om my misfit shine 2 to fastforward my music (especially when im at the gym). The only thing I wish was that you could set an auto sync interval, like once every 12 hrs. If I don't manually sync often enough it stops responding to triple tap. by no means a big problem, and is definitely an easy workaround (take 15 seconds to sync) but it'd be nice.
Works well and a lot cheaper than other devices. Only problem I have with it is the leather strap could be better. with all the twisting when renewing the batteries I have gone through 2 straps in about 18 months. Still using the same device, but using the plastic type strap. Still using the same plastic strap obviously a better proposition. Otherwise everything going well.
I love Misfit products. They're practical AND stylish. I've had Misfit products for 2 years now, and I've used the app on both a Samsung Galaxy phone as well as an iPhone. The app is simple and straightforward to use, however I occasionally have issues with the app syncing to my phone. This is usually resolved after a software update which they do a good job of keeping up with. Their customer service is excellent if you have troubles with your device.
I have the Swarovski crystal and it used to work perfectly, but now it refused to sync despite every trouble - shooting steps recommended by customer service. EXCEPT if you uninstall and reinstall the app. A bit annoying as it was such a beautiful looking fitness tracker, but just might need to change to something else if you can't even sync with your phone...
Using it with a Misfit Phase. Love the look and functionality. HATE the CPU usage and battery impact! I don't know what's going on, but in the 2 weeks since I installed it my phone performance has tanked and my battery is hit hard. Several times my phone has informed me that the misfit app was taking too much CPU and recommended that I shut it down; when I do the problems go away.
When it works, it's great. Unfortunately it sometimes does not sync and closing app or restarting phone or just trying repeatedly may or may not encourage it to sync. Provides an overview of activity and sleep but I just take this as a guide because it's not very accurate. Overall, it's fine of you want a small simple tracker for a summary of your activity.
It's great for syncing my watch, and the notification settings work great, but some of the functions don't work when trying to use the bottom button. When I try to change modes to use the music remote or the "selfie" button, it does nothing. I can tag an activity or ring my phone, but I'd love to use it as a remote for my phone's camera or controlling my music. Removing two stars because the two features I want to use just won't work.
