What is Mister Barista?
Mr Barista is your personal 'third wave' coffee brewing sidekick for the Aeropress, V60, Chemex, French Press and Moka pot. By perfecting your grind, water, and technique using Mister Barista; you can make the best coffee you've ever tasted at home. Coffee that's full of flavour and delicious rather than burnt, bitter or sour.
We provide recipes from all around the world and special recipes and techniques from the winners of the Aeropress championships too.

How Mister Barista works:
Choose a brewing method, Aeropress for example; select a recipe that appeals to you and view the details screen to see what size to grind the coffee beans, you can even place a small amount of your ground beans on your devices screen to make sure your grind size is correct. It will show you what temperature your water should be and amount of ground coffee to use too.
On the recipe screen, tap go as soon your kettle has finished reaching temperature and follow the instructions as they appear. The advanced timer will count down each stage, even dynamically calculating the time to let the water in your kettle cool before pouring on to your grinds. Mister Barista will guide you on when to pour, steep, stir, plunge as well as provide useful information for each step.
If you have a temperature controlled kettle like the Bonavita then there is an option to use it in the brewing process too.
If you settle on a favourite recipe for your daily brew, just tap the 'last coffee' button to jump straight to it in future.

Very nice little app that helps to make a great brew. I use it with my aeropress. Would be good to have the ability to add your own custom recipe.
Very nicely done app. The ability to compare grind size on the screen is brilliant. Helps make a great cup of coffee when the fog of sleep is still on you. Well worth your money.
I live this coffee app! I use it all the time for my favorite ways to make coffee. Only thing I would add is the ability to make notes in the recipes. It's an app worth paying for!
I like how simple and easy to use the app is. I like that you have a comparison of the grind size. I mostly brew using V60 and this app has limited recipes. You can't customize your own brew i.e. select how many grams of beans or water.
This would be a great app if it allowed you to make your own custom recipes. From what I can tell you can only follow pre programed recipes.
Love this app wish it was easier to add my own recipes.

I enjoy this app, but it needs development. The timer should be in the background when brewing so the timer doesn't stop when you leave the app; the last brew button should give you a list of last brews, not the very last brew; the recipe collection should be constantly expanded; and there should be a message board attached to each brew so users can comment and share variations and how they personalized the recipe.
I paid £2.39 only to be disappointed. The design is great don't get me wrong. However the receipts are free and widely available online. The app is basically a posh timer. I wish I could get a refund. Definitely not worth the amount I paid. If you have access to google search and a kitchen timer save your money. I've uninstalled it to save phone memory for something more useful.
I have lowered my review a bit. There doesn't seem to be happening much with the app and there are some things that I would really love to have added. A way to scale recipes (where it makes sense) would be good. A way to adjust recipes to your personal taste is also needed. So is the option to add your own recipes. And having a list on the front page with favourite recipes is very much needed. And more professional recipes should be added more frequently. Ideally you could also make a section with user submitted recipes and the ones with the most votes would get added to the main part of the app. This isn't a cheap app. But to me it is worth it. But it should continue to develope, and not stand still to make it worth the price. It has so much potential.
Great looking app. Timers are crazy short for certain parts though and I always find myself rushing to catch up. The app also crashes every time it finishes a recipe. Still, the timing on the pours is very helpful and the large amount of recipes is nice. Update 9/2/17: app still crashes after most recipes, which can get quite frustrating. Also, PLEASE add a feature to make our own recipes or modify current ones and save to our own list.
Pretty great and I like the design. App crashes sometimes when the brew finishes. I submitted a bug report through the pop up though. Don't know if that reaches the dev or not. Edit: The Dev is very responsive and Im glad to see active development for the app. Changed to five stars to reflect this. P.S Might want to add a donation button within the app. I'd be glad to donate a little as the app progresses!
There's a problem with recipes that have longer descriptions: the typeface is so big that you cannot see the recipe quantities, they're out of reach completely. Problem persists in new version, and on both my cellphones, a Sony Xperia and a smaller Samsung. Would it be too hard to have a setting to adjust font size?
Love the app but it times out when the process is finished not a big deal as I'd already have my coffe, also a more detailed description for some of the recipes would be nice for example the iced gives no mention of ice in the instructions
Great app, easy to use while brewing a cup (press start and wait for the beeps). The grind preview screen is a nice idea! The only thing I'd like to be able to change are the instructions all in capital letters. I find it's harder to read... Maybe add this as an option?
After buying better grinder i wanted to experiment with grind variations. This app gives you an easy way to repeat brewing recipes. I got it based on colleague advice and recommend it to others.
Very informative and great collection to access in one place. Not sure about £2.00 for the app, if like to see loads more to say I've spent that wisely but hopefully more content soon will make it worth it 😊

Does what you want it to. A little disappointed in the small number of available recipes and the lack of being able to add custom recipes considering the price.
I got this app for Aeropress as I only use my it when traveling and thought it would improve my technique. It has helped me to achieve this goal. My daily driver is a Cona vacuum brewer even though I am proficiently operating it would like to see how others operate theirs. And yet still no siphon brewing recipe.
I find this app very helpful. It's basically a fancy timer but it's not asking much. It would be nice if I could add my own recipe.
This app is very useful and we'll designed. I really like the interface as it tells you every single step you have to do for brewing. I'm giving 4 stars, because I really miss some others popular methods like kalita wave and clever dripper. There are no recipes for a small chemex. I think it's a great app and some improvements will make it perfect.
I love the integrated timer. It would be great to be able to start the timer at a step in a recipe other than the start. also, if you could log more than one recipe used and even take notes, it would be perfect.
