Mix - Rediscover the Internet

It's cool, but no where NEAR as interesting or stimulating as StumbleUpon. I'm absolutely devastated. eta- I'm actually still pissed about this. I'm deleting this until they fix it. It's no where near what it once was, and there's no reason it can't be recreated with all of the technology & information today.

The app is uninteresting and seemingly has algorithm issues. Mix is a far cry from StumbleUpon. I loved StumbleUpon, but Mix leaves too much to be desired. Despite my settings and preferences, the search has an overwhelming amount of female model photography and ancient sculptures. Neither art nor beauty/fashion are selected as interests. I have disliked every model photo, but every other new "mix" search is still sculptures and models. The interests I selected barely show. Just bad and useless

A watered down, hobbled replacement for Stumble Upon. I am so sad. StumbleUpon opened doors to interactive, educational, beautiful, and silly possibilities on the Internet. Mix is just a bunch of photos and moronic short videos. I feel like the intelligence level, cultural content, and exploratory feeling is completely gone. I was really hoping to like it, but it is just over-simplified social media, not the internet in all its complexity and potential. Too bad.

Mix has become a lot better and closer to the original Stumbleupon, which many people miss. Seems Mix made changes and is only for phone app now. They no longer offer desktop version ☹️. I liked using desktop browser version better than phone app. I originally gave it 4 stars, but I found out they don't have desktop version anymore... 🤦‍♂️ 🤷‍♂️

Excellent App. Beautiful pictures and interesting articles. Good clean material unlike a couple of other apps. out there. You know who you are. Definitely a must to download my favorite app.

I checked off all my interests like plants and landscapes and architecture none of which are in any way related to sex. Half the sites that popped up were sex how to's. There are plenty of sites for that. The mood set by magnificent views of the Alps or Iceland or Budapest is totally ruined by " best positions for a threesome"

No way to find friends via phone contacts? No saving of likes from StumbleUpon? No dual accounts? No StumbleUpon? :/ No dates on articles? Edit: I like the different file types now, like we had with StumbleUpon. BUT. The app's no longer taking shares? Whut?!? How do I add cool stuff? Why do you have to break everything? Esit2: in addition to no shares, they've simply deleted the categorised articles I'd saved?!?!? No thoughts or regards for the users AT ALL! Terrible service.

I have mixed feelings about... Mix. On one hand, I love the concept, but functionality is a problem! This app is unituitive, and should improve in a few ways: 1. We should be able to zoom in on images easily. Infographics are worthless on this app. 2. There should be a save button next to the like button. I thought I was saving posts by liking them, but now they're just. Gone. 3. Links to articles should go DIRECTLY to the article, instead of rerouting to pintrest, and it should take one tap.

This is not a stumble upon replacement. I loved SU. I loved finding random web pages and learning new information or reading an interesting story. "mix" doesn't capture any of that magic. Just like Tik Tok or Instagram it's simply a barrage of bright pictures and loud videos. I can't stand how assaulting on the senses everything has become. Is there a way to use the old SU? I just want an app that let's me scroll through text or simple web pages only WITHOUT dealing with people like on reddit.

Nowhere near as good as it was when it was stumbleupon. The videos literally don't load in the app, I just spent forty minutes trying to watch 2 minutes of a 10 minute video because it had to buffer for 30+ seconds every 5 seconds of video. The concept is perfect, tell us what you like and we'll expand your interests and find more things for you to discover online. But the execution is awful, I miss stumbleupon

Not even close to an acceptable substitute for Stumble Upon. First, it's incredibly slow. The app is essentially just the full screen version of the mobile website, that's a bad design and a waste. It's not clear how to add new interests and everything from the old SU was lost.The search turns up basically nothing useful. Not really sure why this site even exists.

Not a patch on StumbleUpon. I used to spend hours jumping from one random fascinating page to another. Pages were always timeless and bookmarkable. Now all you get is contemporary articles and news. To top things off, the pages you click on don't even load in the app. Everything I click from the Interests page shows something completely unrelated to the thing I clicked. Disappointing.

Stumbleupon was much better. This is frustrating and very counterintuitive. I used to have the option to in-screen play automatically. Now I have to click on everything to open. Also navigation in the app does not make any sense. Please just pring the full screen experience that we had before in the android and currently still available in the IOS.

Lol after reading the negative reviews i figured I'd install to see if was really that bad because i loved stumble upon and so i wanted to see what mix did with it and all that junk. But i found trouble even trying to find a random site based on my interests. Instead you pick a specific interest from your list of interests. Not complete randomness like it was meant to be. Users don't want to be restricted to just one way of stumbling. We use it so we don't have to choose. I'll stick to web vrsn.

Ruined a perfect app... Really depressing that stumbleupon is gone now 😭😭😭. It's just less efficient and not as good as the previous app. They also group certain categories together which I really hate. I also can't pick a specific topic to focus on and I can't easily switch between one site to the next. Horrible update... but aesthetically nicer I guess?

Like the concept. Wish it was more like stumble upon, it was the bomb. I like and appreciate the articles but miss the ease of browsing. I like sitting and browsing photos when I am stressed. Since the demise of stumble upon..have not been able to. So i guess i this is good program depending on what you are looking for.

They have a good idea going however it needs some improvements before it reaches the level of its predecessor, StumbleUpon. The good. I looks nice and flows even more nicely. The bad. #1 if I pic five interests I shouldn't get 100+ pages back and forth of only 2 of my interests. major issue. #2 it tries and makes suggested groups and then does not delete them if you remove all pages from the group that was made. #3 the UI may look nice but it is jumpy and not very clear on how it is used +More

This app is actually really well built, however it had a lot to live up to, seeing how StumbleUpon (it's predecessor) was a well made app and it was more intuitive and immersive, you really did get appreciate the level of randomness tailored to your tastes/interests, but with the Mix app, you don't get that same level of randomness, which is why it has a subpar rating. The app is good, it works well and looks nice but it doesn't live up to it's far superior predecessor, StumbleUpon.

Used to love StumbleUpon, its never been the same since it became Mix. And suddenly all its showing me are infographics that are too blurry to read. Its worse than pintrest

Touted as a replacement for StumbleUpon with improvements, but far from what I enjoy. I shouldn't need to follow a bunch of people to stumble on things I enjoy. Has some bugs and can be laggy even on a modern Google One phone. StumbleUpon was waaaay better. Based on the ratings I hope you take your consumers seriously and listen to us or failure is imminent. I will see where things go and hopefully improvements will be made or I'll bail. Too many social media based apps that are similar and my time is precious. Be unique!

Used to be great when it was Stumble Upon. New owners ruined it and deleted our accounts and our saved items. Why fix something that was never broke! Especially when you are unable to build something better. This is horrible and do not expect it to improve but will see. I am trying to find something I like about Mix but it isn't anywhere near as good as Stumbleupon.

Great concept, poor execution. I really like the layout and I think this would be a fantastic app... if it did what it is supposed to. It asks you for your interests, yet a second later it's like none of that even mattered as you are bombarded with articles from every topic but the ones you picked as an interest. Worse yet, most articles are advertising and market. If the app improves I may be back, I miss the days of stumble upon. But until then, the creators have some work to do.

Not enough variety. I uninstalled because I get 3 subjects: stimulus BS, pseudo-scientific BS, and ads masquerading as content. The thumb down feature has done nothing to decrease the stimulus articles, so I've had enough. Question for the team at Mix: what are you doing here? Neither the news features nor the social features are very well implemented. Maybe you should figure out what your app actually is and go back to the drawing board. This app offers literally nothing that isn't done better

I searched on Google for StumbleUpon since I had used that service years ago and enjoyed it. The site says that theyre now Mix. I downloaded the app and wow, what a disaster. It's just another algorithm-based social media platform, ans not even a good one. It's cluttered with ads, articles, and clickbait-y websites that otherwise would probably get no traffic. I concur with the rest of the reviews, bring back StumbleUpon!

I might come back and edit this review after using the app more. So far it gives me almost entirely articles with clickbait titles. Maybe not a fault of the app, and there have been a few gems, but wading through the fluff is really annoying. I am trying to discourage the app by down voting everything that I don't want to see but I'm not sure it's making a difference. Overall, I like the concept of the app and it has been bringing me articles that I didn't know about. Just lots of clickbait.

YouTube sign in option via the app is not working.

The functionalities of this App doesn't meet with standards that Stumbleupon once held. Stumbleupon used to give a variety of different content at random based upon your interests. The algorithms in place for Mix appear to do the exact opposite, and will more or less repeat the same interest. This loses its flair for randomness and makes the App feel quite repetitive

It's not StumbleUpon, which was the best internet tool I've ever used. This doesn't show you awesome websites. This is just pictures and videos, and most of them aren't that interesting.

If I wanted a more infuriating version of pinterest I would just use pinterest. There is no search option to brows by category or just browse. The layout is incredibly frustrating to use. Please come to your senses and just relaunch stumbleupon. I'm sure the new generation of users would love it. Invest in marketing what was once a wonderful discovery tool instead of wasting resources on a dumpster fire of an app.
