5/11/22 Update: Within the last week something changed and now MLB Audio when a game is in play (not archived) on a lot of the stations changed to "live" only, time bar is gone, no forward/rewind. So you can't start from the beginning or forward through commercials of your behind. This is completely unacceptable and needs to be resolved. App still needs resume functionality so when you close the app or it fails you don't start from scratch. It's very frustrating to loose your place in a game.

Waste of money if wanting to stream. Consistently crashes. Restarted 6 times and it's only top of the 3rd. That's just today, which made me finally rate the app, but trust me, it's everyday. I've submitted help tickets with version and device info and never got a reply or resolve. I basically have missed the whole season so far because it's not worth listening or watching because of the hassle of restarting every five minutes due to app crashing. Good for checking scores or news only.

I don't know who approved the new UI update. But, oh my word is it awful. Can't search for players anymore without jumping through hoops, everything is super clunky and glitchy. I've subscribed to this for a few years now, I'm glad I didn't resubscribe this year. One of the most UNuserfriendly apps I think I've ever used. Bring back the old version please. This is currently hot garbage, and a waste of space on my phone.

MLB still does not have android auto capabilities. Why is that if you are the same company that runs the NHL app (I think, could be wrong) and that has a very good android auto app. Other issues are just this app is incredibly clunky and slow. The formats for the score pages are kinda big and bulky. When you click on a game it's really slow to load, like there isn't an app version of GameDay. I feel like this app needs to be rebuilt from the ground up because it's not great.

I appreciate the attempt to update the app, but something has gone wrong. Ever since a March update the mobile app and Roku app are either buffering or announcing network errors. It has been impossible to watch any game straight through rendering the product fairly useless. None of the usual suspected fixes have worked. None of your suggestions have worked either. As far as the changes, I agree with many of the other complaints. & please let us watch MLB Network clips w/o turning off spoilers.

The update this year (2022) has made this app significantly less useful. The user interface in clunky and not at all intuitive. Poor design hides the useful features instead emphasizing unwanted or less useful items. Wish the app had not been updated. Hopefully they overhaul it again shortly as it can't be much worse than it is now.

The app works fine on the device. But when streaming to Chromecast it stutters every two or three minutes. It shows the banner for the game and a twirly white circle. This makes it hard to watch. Following the advice that the developers will undoubtedly post here does nothing. My Chromecast works fine to stream a dozen other apps.

Used to be a great layout & easy interactive experience but since the recent update it's very busy & hard to navigate. It used to have your favourited team at the top of the schedule no matter what but now it has the Free Game of the Day & even has ads in amongst the schedule. Only reason I updated was because it was still showing the 2021 Standings but I wish I hadn't.

Update: This update is terrible. They keep ruining this app more and more every year. The version they had in 2019 was good. When I am at work this app says I am in market and therefore blacked out for two teams I am nowhere near. But when I drive home, just 10 miles away, all of a sudden the app realizes it and lets me watch the games of the same two teams on the same day. Makes no sense. They got rid of calender view for schedules on the app. I dont want to look at a list, I want the Calender.

This season, audio Is an AFTERTHOUGHT. Get familiar with the menu, you're going to need it. App freezes. Huge battery drain and spinning wheel while listening. Can't control timing to sync with TV. WAIT, could you guys please respond to my review by doing nothing more than linking to an inapplicable webpage?? That will improve my review for sure! I love paying more than $100 to use an app that I hate. Makes me feel great. Enjoy my money for this last (shortened) season, I'm done.

Ste. N. May 22, 2022

Audio includes inane and repetitive ads that, in the course of a doubleheader, you will hear 36 times (twice each inning). And they increase the volume level from the broadcast level to make the ads louder. Why advertisers think this is effective is beyond me; it has turned me off to their products as well as to the app.

Current update is not user friendly. Frustrating that the app doesn't support auto-rotate. I want the app in landscape mode on my tablet. Period. On my phone, portrait is fine, but for crying out loud, support landscape! Also not a fan of relegating the audio feeds to the "more" menu. It made much more sense to have the audio and video links both easily accessible. It feels like a ploy to get more people to buy MLB.TV, instead of supporting the people who just want the radio broadcasts.

This was a great app last year. They messed it up this season. First, they removed the audio feeds that come in handy when your game is blocked out. Also, they set it up so you can no longer get info on other games while you watch a game. In order to switch back to the screen with info on the other games, you have to CLOSE OUT the app and then re-open it. There is no "back" button. Horribly inefficient and poorly designed, continuing MLB's trend of charging its fans more and giving them less.

The MLB app does not work with Chromecast. It buffers three times a minute. It is not a bandwith issue. I've tried it on multie Internet connections that are quick with everything else. And I've tried it with two different Chromecasts. Both Chromecasts have no problem streaming anything else. I can't cast games from my phone. It's super annoying.

Jak. C. Mar 22, 2022

Downloaded the app last spring for audio games. Worked great last year. Could turn off the phone and continue listening until the end of the game. I can no longer do that since the start of spring games this year. Everytime I've tried it this spring it stops after a minute or two. I've logged out, deleted the app and re-installed it with no luck. Even closed all other apps with no luck. Will be canceling my subscription if this is not fixed soon.

Don't get it if you actually want to watch your favorite team!! Crashes constantly and blackouts nearly every game! For the price they charge it's NOT worth it!!! Just this week I clicked on my team and it would start to stream the game and then suddenly say "this game is blacked out, wait till 90 minutes after the game is over to watch". $25+ a month for this type of service is unacceptable!!!

App redesign is terrible. It wasn't perfect last year but it was much more clean and better laid out. Now it's clunky, hard to navigate, and full of ads. Why is the schedule not displayed in a calendar format? It's impossible to read at a glance. A calendar with dark colored home games and light colored away games so you can easily see homestands, road trips, and off days. Come on guys. Baseball schedules have been that way forever, why change them?

Eri. C. Mar 23, 2022

Streaming game audio is very frustrating, and I would call it UNACCEPTABLE for a paid service. Aesthetically, the app has improved since last year, but functionally, it has declined. Have to give props that I like the new graphical redesign, and love the addition of a dark theme, something that the iOS app has had for a long time prior. Unfortunately, the audio streams will stop and stutter consistently. Sometimes it stops for 5 seconds, sometimes it stops for 20 seconds. Sometimes it stops and never restarts unless you go back into the app and start streaming it again. This happens whether I’m listening to grapefruit or cactus league games, so I know it’s not an issue related to the source of the broadcasts. It happens both on and off of wifi, and in areas I’m very familiar with having great reception, so I know it’s not an issue with my cellular data coverage. It happens between innings as well so it’s not just the broadcast from the stadium, but the commercials as well. The most frustrating part of it all is that last season the audio streams were very reliable! I don’t understand how the reliability of the broadcasts could have dropped so much. It’s so bad, that I WILL CANCEL MY SUBSCRIPTION if I don’t see an improvement to the broadcast streaming before the auto-renewal date. This is an unacceptable lever of service that is not worth paying for, not by a long shot. Also, there's nothing in their support page that helps the broadcast streaming issue.

Still a disaster. I am constantly using the scoreboard to see what's happening in other games. The MLB app geniuses now put ads in the middle of the scores. And not only do the ads take up half of my phone screen, but the pop in new ones every few seconds. And that, in turn changes the position of the scores you are trying to see. App is useless. Switching back to ESPN where it always works.

Gab. V. Apr 22, 2022

Listening to the Radio/Audio games is impossible, it simply stops working every 2 or 3 minutes. Secondly, I cannot watch a game that happened in the past. The app only works for watching games on that day, when I click the calendar to watch yesterday's game, it simply stays on a "Loading" screen. Very frustrating... And lastly, when I click on stats, there is no search bar to find a specific player's stats. List of the 25 top players appears, but no serch bar. Using a Samsung S21, Android 12.

ukb. Mar 18, 2022

The new widget design is terrible. I'm a fan of baseball, not necessarily just one team, but I have to pick a favourite, and all the widget shows is the next (/current?) game for that team. Take it back to the previous design where I could scroll through all games in progress or scheduled for that day. Or give us the option of favourite team only, or all teams/games. Even fans of one team would want to see how the other teams in the division are doing, without opening up the app (which is always an option in any case). Please, please, put it back how it was. Not broken, don't fix.

Pit. M. Mar 31, 2022

The app was so great whenever I listened to games. If I needed to close all my apps I could and the audio would stop. Now I can never get rid of the notification on my screen. Whatever update they did, is horrible. Update: 3.30.22, every 30 seconds or so the audio just cuts out and I have to hit pause then play every time. This updated version of the app is horrible.

Ale. A. Apr 11, 2022

At first I was really frustrated with the performance of year's version of the app, but after signing out and rebooting it's working much better. GameDay audio is now working fine for me. I'm a subscriber but for the free version the ads on the scoreboard are really obnoxious, and I think it would be in the MLB's best interest to have a better free version. Performance can also be slightly laggy at times.
