Would be fun if it was a bit more realistically simulated. Its fun if you are a fan of Boston or California teams. If you like Detroit forget it. They obviously no nothing of baseball history. I tried playing 1972 season several times only to have the Tigers finish 20 or so games back everytime. Very frustrating to play. Not very satisfying knowing you have no chance at a successful season.. For example at 20 games in they could only muster 36 runs...out of 20 games? Not very close to realistic.
Total garbage. Its full of bugs, never been tested apparently. Why is the financial system unable to properly project even one season ahead for the purpose of contracts? Baseball mogul is superior, better simulation, better control, and they've actually tried it before release. I wish there was a mobile version. I've played this a lot, won lots of championships, but it isn't baseball. Its battling the interface and manipulating the poor and skewed simulation. OOTP is the untested knockoff.
Awesome mobile experience of OTTP as it takes the game and makes it accessible to mobile devices. Not as many features as the PC version but still plenty deep. Allows for player customization which is awesome since I wanted to update the farm system to reflect my teams accurate prospects.
I think the developers should add a little more in depth to the game. For example: Waivers, The Rule 5 draft, scouting prospects. I wish this game could be more in depth to the detail but other than that it's really good .
This game was great but it DOES NOT work with Android 10. It crashes instantly when trying to launch it. I wish I could play because I love the series but it looks like I will have to wait until next year.
Frustratingly good until now. I had no problems with this app. I've played most of the series (even though the only real update to the release was rosters). But on the latest Android update (10), the app won't launch anymore. RIP
UPDATE: Given the fact that OOTP has ditched the series for something "new" (I sent and got a reply back via email from them, which was generic), the very least they could do is update the MLB Manager series for the newer phones. Been enjoying the "MLB Manager" series for awhile now... Unfortunately with no MLB Manager future releases (that I've seen or know of) it's a letdown. There was news floating around that a newer series was being developed and to be released, but I haven't seen it...
Doesnt translate well to mobile at all. It takes too many taps to see the data you need and do the things you want to do. The interface forces you to do too much work.
Meh. It crashes, and when it does so, it loses the stats for the current game you were in the middle of playing. The game also randomly loses stats somewhere else, and I have never figured out where, how, or why.
The game crashes consistently when attempting to open any of the roster screens (active roster, disabled list, etc). I cannot play the game at all.
Great baseball simulation game. As good as classic Strat-O-Matic baseball. The final 2019 rosters need to be added. The last update was April, 2018. In 2019 the Yankees blasted 306 homers and the Twins 307. So, it would be nice to see the increase in homers throughout MLB on this 2019 app🙂
Love the game, but Im in the 2025 season 20 games in and it reverted back to Jan. 2025. All players I traded for and signed are not on my team. A player that I traded, ended up on my disabled list and its telling me to activate him, but I cant because his card says he's on another team. very frustrating that i will have to start over
DO NOT SPEND MONEY ON THIS. The game will not launch on my Mate20 Pro, and from the other reviews it looks like any newer versions of Android are no longer compatible. If it's not working, it should be removed off the store.
Came to the party late on this one and was warned but took the chance as I have enjoyed previous versions. It is quite buggy.
Not supported anymore and seems buggy on newer Android version... Sad because the game looks exciting edit. Bought it again... Cannot be refund even if it doesn't work anymore
The game won't open on my phone (Pixel 3a). Says it was made for an older version of Android. I've played the series before and it's great but this is disappointing
Its a fun sim. Must be a problem with saving because when i finish a game and come back to play it again it has me play the same team again
Cannot even resign player contracts. Get constant mail saying players want to resign and no option. Game is a waste of money and unplayable.
Was a good game but no updates. Now useless and want all my money back. I paid for a game i could play for years not just until android updated
As others have said, DO NOT BUY. Game does not work with new android version and hasn't been updated since '18. RIP, take this off the store.
Great game. I liked the layout of 2017 more but overall very well done. Thanks to all involved.
great game. runs well, simple to play and understand. not as good as baseball mogul on the pc but still a great game.
Changed review from 5/5 to 3/5 because I've been waiting far too long for MLB Manager 2019, it's almost 2020, what's going on? If I get a reply I'll change back to 5/5.
No support or new version. It was awesome until you abandoned it. It won't even load anymore
Was good until the game crashes after starting the app. Wouldnt recommend this game until that is fixed
Game is a ton of fun (5stars), however no longer works on pixel 3 after Android 10 update.
The game is fun to play.. However, the statistics after playing the same seeason over and over and over again are not realistic. I played the same season ten times and found batting averages far too low and home runs to be far too few. I even tried letting the AI run the game several times and yet again batting averages are too low and home runs far to few. I also am waiting for an upgrade based on the 2019 season! Hopefully, when and if it comes out, the new version will be more realistic. I have absolutely no interst in the financial management aspect of the game. Perhaps dropping the financial portion of the would allow for tweaks to increase offense statistics and make the performance of the players come much, much closer to their real life production. I have a background in statistics and forecasting and own several other computer baseball simulations. Most of the other sims. on my pc generate much more accurate stats. I am aware of the variances generated by running just one or two simulations of the same season. That is why I run the same season at least ten times to average to average out the normal variances. However, the offensive production is far too low and is allways so. The game is fun to play, but the realizism needs improvement. If one were to look at a bell-shaped curve of the generated stats you would the offensive production to always be several standard deviations to the far left of the curve. I also have the computer version of the game and yet I still find the statistical accurracy to be very much skewed to left for offensive statistics. That being said, I think the game engine needs to be improved. When that happens my rating will increase to a full five stars.
