Depending on which MLS team you follow this can be a must have. Personally, as a supporter of the New York Red Bulls this is way better, for example, than the official NYRB app. Has coverage of everything MLS related & beyond, & by tagging your favorite team, it keeps you posted with in-depth details on them for you.
Decent but lots of bugs scores show for players in Fantasy but not total for week. Also be a newcomer to Fantasy I didn't realise you don't get full version on app or mobile, need to use PC. For the size of app think Fantasy could be built in. Also have to log in constantly, 3 stars for decent articles but could just get a lot of that from saving website to homepage.
videos and ads frequently have functional issues. wretching highlights from the whole league is almost entirely why i have this app, so it's kind of disappointing that it's such a constant issue.
Great app however in score tab doesn't show both teams score also has problems with fantasy players in showing all the points . On Google Pixel 6
Poor layout, very poor function on my android device, especially trying to play fantasy. Freezes/crashes and then you have to reselect your entire lineup if you didn't complete it and save b4 it crashes
i love the features on the app. its extremely up to date and versatile. However, the app literally cannot go more than 2-3 minutes without freezing. almost none of the videos work and each update seems to make it worse as far as ease of interface. please fix this. the potential for this app is huge. ive been using this for years and it hasnt really become any better, i just keep hoping.
This app is so bad. It can't cast when the video is live. It randomly crashes in the middle of watching a video. It's clunky and hard to navigate through. Like everything else this league does, it's shiny and flashy on the surface and then it is RFK behind the curtain. In the middle of writing this review it crashed again.
For a national sports league that keeps such strict control of their content, you'd think they have the means and motivation to deliver a dependable, if not great, app. I guess ther fact that we won't be able to see their content elsewhere means they can cut corners knowing we have no other option than this abomination of an app. If it loads on the first try, it takes forever. Clickable fields rarely work (looking at you, match highlights) and video playback is atrocious. Get it together, MLS.
This app worked well on my phone for 2 years and then, in the last few months, it won't load correctly, videos won't play after the commercial, and it will often struggle to connect. Very disappointing because I look at the app a few times a day. Not OK for MLS to have an app that doesn't work. The league is now too mature to have this problem. Get it together, MLS, and invest in the architecture to have a proper app that matches the great programming the league puts out.
I've been following MLS since the very first game in 96. I *try* to use this app every day. But it's almost always at least partially broken. For some reason when it's working for a little while, somebody comes along and breaks it again. They finally added fantasy to the app, but 3 times this season already it's crashed and made the app unusable. You can't be taken seriously as a top league if your own app is always non functional. Please make it work?
I have been using this app since the previous version (which featured a very different look and feel) and am getting fed up with the bad performance recently. When using the app, switching between pages is very slow. The app crashes practically everyday while it is running in the background for some reason. The app looks nice at least, but it hardly functions. Please fix this soon or I will just uninstall it and use Google for getting live scores.
Can't understand why when I click on a push notification I doesn't take me to the article or video but to the main page. Then I search for the article and can't find it. So I go to the Facebook or browser to find the article. Needs to be fixed. Otherwise it is generally a very busy layout. Feel like it could be streamlined.
Content is good but it takes WAY to long to get to it. navigating between tabs is super slow and trying to get a hyperlink to load up after selecting takes way longer than it should. I think there's maybe too much graphically which may be slowing the navigation down. Devs should focus on keeping it simple and snappy.
This app has always been buggy, but it is really bad this year. Latest update... It actually launches without crashing 1/10 times. Once it does start... it constantly says "megged" network issue, no other apps including Chrome to the MSL website has an issue. If I can get past all that... 15 minute higlights: which is what I want to watch... Plays the 2 minute highlights.. I have to go to all updates and find the 15 minute udpate... Very bad...hoping/waiting for the next upgrade with fixes!
It's been several days since I was able to get the app to open at all. It constantly opens articles I didn't choose, and won't open what I clicked on. I love the league, but giving the app a 2 star rating feels extremely generous! Do better!! It's now been at least 2 weeks where the app won't open at all! ZERO STARS!!!!
Terrible app. Using a flagship phone with excellent network speed the app can barely manage to load a 30 second highlight clip(but those ads sure load nice and quickly). Meanwhile on just about any other app I can stream HD content all day without any hiccups or buffering. C'mon MLS! Be better! September 2019 update: after installing Android 10 the app is worse than ever.
No full screen video option? It is nice to see highlights, but why do they have to be so tiny.
Constantly crashes for no apparent reason. But most annoying of all, it keeps resetting my notification preferences. I have all notifications turned off, but then receive a random ping on my phone whenever a new Armchair Analyst post appears. Sure enough, when I go into my notifications I find that the notifications for Armchair Analyst and Power Rankings have been enabled even though I had disabled them. The notifications seem to magically re-enable themselves every time I disable them.
Constantly crashes on android (both 9 and 10). When it sends you a notification (for a new article or breaking news for instance), when you click on it the MLS app either fails to launch and shows an error "MLS app has stopped working" or launches mls app but doesn't take you to the article. Really amateur app for a league that's so big and wants to compete with MLB, NFL, etc... It's pathetic. No way NFL would ever launch an app like this.
For an app that focuses on video, I would expect the video performance to be worth opening the app for. It isn't. (edited) its completely useless. I have fast internet and a galaxy s10+, videos don't load, or play within a reasonable amount of time. (waiting more than a minute) uninstalling, not looking back.
I simply love the app. But I would like to have something like a home screen scores or schedules....
This app is just not good. It is VERY slow to load anything. Also, notifications are hit and miss (mostly miss). I have received 1 notification for my team's last 3 matches. That wasn't even for my team! I'm going back to ESPN's miserable soccer coverage in their app. At least it loads there.
Better app now. Finally is not removing my favorite team. Is a better app now since before. Now is a better app. Thank you for fixing this app
My experience probably could've been better. I just get tired of having to make the same personalization settings everytime I open the app. Once you're in, it's a decent app. I just checked, once I got through the initial setup for the umpteenth time, I was logged in. So what's up with going through the set up over and over.
