Great idea, unreliable service Whilst I've had many successful trips with this bike app, I've had way too many frustrating experiences. Many of their bikes are very damaged so I wouldn't be surprised if they pull the service soon. On the plus side, their monthly pass for £12 is great value - if you can find a bike that isn't broken. The app has stopped working a number of times for me, and the customer service is slow and spotty.
Definitely the worst cycle hire app I've tried. As if the bikes themselve weren't bad enough (no gears, heavy frame, incredibly low seat) the bikes don't actually show on the app 95% of the time and you end up using Citymapper. Why bother to launch the service then not bother to implement the main portal through which people will use the service? Pretty impressive levels of retardation.
Constantly broken bikes, and now I've been charged extra 5 euros twice in 3 days because the app placed the bike about 2 km away from where I actually parked, conveniently in 'no-park zones' I had to pay the first 5 because I needed to be somewhere. Never got an answer or a refund and now it's happened again! This is a ripoff and a badly made app. I want my money back for the extra 10 euro I am being charged for a mistake in the app!!
The app itself is poor and doesn't even let you tap on support email/phone to contact them. The bikes, too small to ride, are more likely to be toppled over beside a bin than in useful condition. Before alternatives existed, I was charged an outrageous 20 pound fine for parking outside the zone, despite zero indication about their new zoning restrictions, zero warning in the app, and zero notice they would now be fining honest users this way. Bottom line: Stick to Boris bikes or Lime.
The idea of bike sharing in Tirana city, a great idea to me, but the way Mobike runs it could easily be better. Positive: 1. Service area covers core of the city 2. Number of bikes have raised last months 3. Monthly subscription has a good price Needs improvement: 1. The app doesn't allow me to top-up, it says "failed to load pricing please try again". 2. 50% of bikes have a malfunction. 3. Geolocation not correct. 4. Customer service doesn't exist.
The bike is always way off from where the GPS locator says it is, and sometimes impossible to find. I've been late more times than I can count because I couldn't find the bike or it's broken. System even glitches and freezes when you try to report it so you know it's never going to get better
Thought it would be a great idea to use this app to visit some friends. There were 2 bikes near me, both which couldn't be found. I did find 2 more bikes not listed by the app, and both were inoperable. In conclusion, you need more bikes!
I would like to give this app minus stars as the whole Mobike experience has been horrible. Do Not use Mobike in Oxford if you need to go past the railway station and down the Botley Road as this is not in their 'zone'. What a ridiculous service for a city like Oxford. Fine if you want to tweedle about the main university area but pointless if you want to cycle to any of the park and rides. You're missing a trick there, Mobike!
I can't unlock the bike after i lock it when you stop for a while. this will lead you to be fined for illegal parking. impossible to find a bicycle from the app. please avoid. i want my money back ! refund me my money !!pay for something that you cannot use. don't collect money and don't deliver !! very terrible. the parking shows on app but doesnt exit physically. 99% bikes are broken or needs repair. there is no prompt to scan qr code unless you try many links.why charge when no service?
Awful experience. The bike is extremely short and it is single gear bike so you get tired without result. Plus you need much more time to reach to your destination compared to having an actual bike.
Great idea poor execution. Their bikes are very simple: 1 gear, seat usually not adjustable and so many squeaky parts it's embarrassing. For me it's not a problem since I rarely do more than 5 minute trips, but the problem is that so many of their bikes don't work but you can still "check them out". Worst part is that often you then lock the bike again only to have the app not register it so you have to report it and your account is then temporarily frozen and you're 15 min late for work!
painful to use app, that hasn't been updated in ages, because it constantly zooms in to an area so you can't search around for bikes. The bikes, if you find one, are cheap heavy and slow
Zero star!!! I Want to refund to my bank account not on your useless apps balance! I used in Paris 2 days ago, and parked my bike still on the blue zone ( got the screenshoot) but still got the penalty 50€!!! After bring the bike back to the very blue zone , now got back the refund of 50 eur, but in apps! I really want my money back! And one more, dont you saying responsibly if you cant bring back my money No regards
App design isn't terrible but geolocation and the bikes are. Are they designed for infants? Why are 50% of them damaged beyond functionality? Used them for a 15 minute walk and they cut a whole 5 minutes off my trip as the wheels are so minute that you can't get enough power to go faster than a slow jog unless you pedal like Lance Armstrong. One had a front wheel that screeched the entire trip. Hope another service comes to my area, Mobike is only successful out of a lack of competition.
I didn't get to ride an actual Mobike because I was put off by the approved 'blue' zones which the service can be used in (which seem hugely restrictive despite being in Central London). Similarly, the help section seems to imply the potential for a fine if ridden (rather than parked) in a 'No Park Zone'... I wanted to try this platform out because it was recommended as the best cycle sharing scheme by Londonist but I think I'll have to wait for further development.
It is really bad that the app doesn't allow you to see the parking zone before it _forces_ you to make a £5 minimum top-up. Now I have £5 credits for a service I can hardly use.
I really loved the service and the app, as I used it often. In the last two months I have been unable to Top-up, and still haven't got a solution for my issue. Could you please follow up on my problem.
The bikes themselves were really bad quality and the app should have a quicker way to start paying e.g. PayPal, visa checkout etc because its annoying to go through the long process of putting in all your card details and mobile verification when all your want is a quick bike journey.
Bikes' seats can't be adjusted which makes them unsafe to ride if you can't touch the floor and uncomfortable if you are very tall. Also, the permitted parking zones in London are extremely limited, not even covering all of zone 1.
Absolutely dreadful, the zone is absolutely miniscule, threats of fines if you leave the zone, to top it off you can't lock the bike after you leave it, total waste of time, just get the bus instead or walk
I think it's a little bit unfair and silly that you can only find out that your journey is not in a blue zone after you have parted with your well earned cash. This information must be made freely available before making the decision to use the service. I haven't used the bike yet so I not sure how the ride is.
Nifty concept, worked ok. Unfortunately the bikes apear as if designed for pygmies and would not extend to fit my small stature (for a dutch person). The QR-code also sends me to a Chinese site, so they put those bikes here without changing the link or the bike; And then yes for Europeans you might want to scale the bike up as well...
The service has stop working while I have credit in the app. Disgraceful. Plus they stop the service during the pandemic when many prefer not use the bus, and their service is needed the most
Hello? Is mobike still operating?!? I can't get a verification text or call, the website doesn't work, the app hasn't been updated for a year. But I still see bikes on streets. How do I even contact mobike?? Am I still being charged, currently I can't use the bikes unique I get verification.
Reserved two bikes bit nowhere to be found. Found 3 bikes by chance all out of service. This is pointless, feels like all the working ones are locked up in people's houses but the app won't let me report problems.
This app severely drains my battery, even when not in use. I close it but it continues to run in the background. My battery charge lasts a third of its normal duration. Its behaviour leads me to distrust it. Uninstalling. (Positive point: it can be installed on an SD card.) Pricing is steep (1€ for every 20 min. segment) compared to other options.
