App keeps crashing on start up. Phone warning that crashes are using up battery, has only started since last updated
Useless, I would advise NOT advise using this app, it rarely works, constantly crashes, its a sorry excuse for a banking app. I am absolutely infuriated with it, maybe the app developer should look at maybe making an app that actually works.
App is very easy & straight forward to use. Easy to keep on top of your daily banking 10/10
When I suspend the app I can still see my personal banking details even though it should be blank when suspended to protect my personal info. Even when I log out of the app and suspend it, I can still see the details so doesn't seem very secure if I were to lose my phone.
Downloaded a few weeks ago. Don't particularly like the lay out. Not so easy to see transactions at a glance. But I accept it will take time to get used to it. However the reason for the poor review is the number of times I've been unable to make transactions due to "technical error". Really, the last app was fine. Having tried all morning to transfer money to a friend have given up and will either phone the bank or drive into the branch. What a faff.
Security is severely lacking. Compared to the previous version of the app this represents a massive step back in security. While I appreciate that you can now save your 8 digit user ID as this will be handy for some I would also like the option of accessing my account by inputting this 8 digit code (followed by my 4 digit pin) each time as I have done for years without issue. This is an unnecessary change as it mean that only the 4 digit pi. Is required to access the account. Not good enough!!
I much prefer the old layout. It is hard to differentiate between the running balance and payments out of your account as they are both in line in the same colour and almost the same font size. I loved the categorisation functionality and appearance of iconsof the old app as it was easy to see at a glance. Having recently moved my main current account to another provider, I was considering coming back to Danske solely because of the app with categorisation. This updated app would put me off.
Nice interface. They are constantly adding features and improving the app which is great. But maybe avoid changing the entire interface every 2 months it's confusing. Some nice features were only there for a few months which is sad, like the page to view and "mark as read" all transactions. Replaced by notifications, would have preferred both!
It's so slow, takes ages to log in. The whole layout is so confusing, and has a completely wrong feel about it. Constantly having to bind it, even though you only need to do it once! Should have just made the improvements on the old app. Or at least designed one that's user friendly
Really not a great app. The previous app was much better. The colour scheme in the new app is too monochrome so you can't easily see your outgoings, and if someone sends you money it doesn't bring up their name or any details of who sent you it, although this looks like a general restriction on Danskes e-banking. The overall layout is ok but the wheel was definitely better.
Messages, announced in a prior email, don't actually appear in the app. I have to judge its relevance from the text of the email. Also, everytime I go to use the app, for any reason, a message indicates it's out of date, but on being directed to Google Play, I find that not to be the case. So I have to open it thru Playstore. Minor irritant but sloppy nontheless. That aside, security seems fine. Adequate for basic banking, transfers etc.
I use have used the old Danske app for years and loved it but found it frustrating that you had to enter a security pin to transfer small amounts of money. With the new app you can transfer up to £1000 per day with your fingerprint and app pin number....perfect, however......the new app is very very very slow. It takes forever to login. It is so bad that I have the old app on my phone too and still use it and the security card. I only use the new app when I don't have my security card to hand. Come on Danske, good idea very poorly executed
The app is basic to use but it takes too many clicks to get what you want unlike the last one. not being able to use my security card is concerning also. it's also much less aesthetically pleasing to look at. the wheel ideal was simple yet eloquent. this new app is chucky and messy. a change wasnt needed.
The old app is much better both in appearance and performance! Only binding to 1 phone at a time is very inconvenient. As a 4 digit passcode is then all that's needed to access my account,I prefer to manually enter my user ID for extra security. But the security card is needed then! Santander app requires a user ID,an alphanumeric password and 5 digit passcode. No security card.Works on 1+ phones at the same time too! An app is not made better by taking away features. Very disappointed.
It repeatedly goes to Google play. V frustrating After 4 months, still very frustrating because no change
Very slow. You type your 4 number id in and it locks out. When it works its good. Never had any issues. But last few months it constantly crashes. So annoying that I have moved banks because it fails everytime and is getting worse. Iam now in process of moving direct debits.
I downloaded this app a few weeks ago expecting to find some kind of advantage as an upgrade should bring. I was wrong. The only thing easy to do on this app is see your balance. Don't log on expecting to just pop in and out to transfer money etc. Complete nightmare.
I have been unable to login via the App following an automatic update on the night of 23/24 August. After inputting my 4 digit code, the App takes a long time attempting to login, then I am presented with a blank screen. I have had to revert to the wheel App. Please review the latest update. Further to my comment above, the problem resolved itself within 24 hours without having to reinstall the app. Perhaps a temporary glitch in the system ? In any event, working well now.
Love the old app, everything was simple to use, colour coded for different transactions etc… Now I am being forced to download this new one which in comparison is awful. No colour coding for different transactions, in and out payments not in different colour, harder to read, ugly to look at, the list goes on. Not to mention it is harder for those who have health problens, the coloured layout was easier to understand and follow. Why change what isn't broken? Disappointing Danske!!!
I still cannot fathom why you're retiring the Wheel app when this one is still not even close to ready. The highlights so far: Debit card txns take hours to appear. Deposited cheques show as drawable immediately even though they're totally not. Error messages such as "cannot contact server" etc even while Wheel app working fine. Checked against Wheel app which shows correct information. Leaving this bank because of this.
I can't even login - it crashes out as I'm trying to type in my User ID. Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, Android 7.0. I've uninstalled the app, reinstalled and have the same problem. I'm a software developer so I know how complicated these things are, but something is seriously wrong here.
Although I liked the wheel of the old app, this new one is a definite improvement. It allows you to use a fingerprint for security as well as needing pass code when sending money. After giving it a chance I like the tiles layout & it is customisable. There seem to be a lot of negative reviews. To them I ask: have you used apps from other banks, they are mostly awful. Well done Danske bank.
Why are you forcing people to downgrade to a clearly inferior app. Old app wasn't't amazing but this is far worse. Whoever is responsible for this change should be cut from your team immediately, its really crazy how bad they missed the mark. The interface is clunky and unintuitive. The app is buggy and crashes often on my multiple devices....there is just no way you should be forcing your customers on to this app what on earth could you be thinking.
the app worked one time for me when i first installed it. ever since it doesnt work. i have had to reinstall old app. not sure what i will have to do come sept. hope it works by then. i did find the old app great was hoping the same for new app. its a shambles. Doesnt work more than it works. I give up and will now be looking into switching out to a bank that can provide a decent app. Its a real pity as old app worked so well.
This app is very convulted. The wheel app is so much more user friendly and easy to navigate. I find transferring funds to be a nightmare compared to the wheel version *edit* uninstall and reinstalled, seemed to have fixed issues, thankfully
App is ok, though constant changing navigation becomes tiring. just leave it! I would however like to see Danske Bank be innovative and support FIDO protocols so that dongles like Google's Titan Security Key, and other 2FA Security keys are supported. Secuirty keys can't be hacked, yet Phones can, and you still authorise these as a security device!
Puzzled about other reviews of the app - I've been using it since it was an opt-in service in beta and I have had no problems with it at all. It's a lot more modern and user friendly than the old one and lets you sign in with fingerprint or a code rather than needing your code card every time you want to check something or make a quick transfer.
Trying to make any payments has become a nightmare with this app. You get to the payment and wait on the payment code to proceed and can't get any further very very irritating. Plz fix this issue
