Mobile OCR

I don't get it but my results don't resemble any kind of legible text. Scanned English and set English as the text to recognize. Got a jumble of other characters. Here's a sample 3cC/5 70 go o 3 05 fD O P 05 05 05 oC/3 "EL 05 oa.3 3 etc etc.

It does a great job translating the photo into text. The problem is copy and pasting, it makes it double. It will take all the sentences and randomly repeat all through out. It does not do it while viewing but only any kind of sharing I tried them all. I tried my copy and paste on random things it works fine. Please solve this issue because it does the job but almost . Thank you very much

I am using this app for a test on an about 100 words page of "404" it turns out amazing, all the words except Firefox, which because of the dust on the screen itself, was incorrect. I do not expect it to translate a whole lot of 1000 words page from Britannica flawlessly, so this is as good as it gets and that is more than enough.

I tried to convert some very clear Hebrew and Polish text. Both languages appear in the list but in Hebrew I got totally gibberish that did not contain even one Hebrew letter. In polish I got message like "we are good at it but this time we could not convert, try tips ..." Well, I tried a few times, vertically, horizontally, further, closer etc. I got the same message all the time. Useless for me. LG tablet.

First attempt told me it couldn't read the photo. Second attempt with same photo worked. Third attempt with second photo translated the page into symbols. Fourth attempt told me that I used up more tries than I had and now every other time I use it I get symbols. Bad app, bad!

This applications OCR functionality itself is good. But the application itself is let down by a few things. Firstly the UI isn't the best and there should be a default setting for either camera or gallery. Secondly it keeps bugging you for a rating whilst using the application (if it didn't does this I would have given a higher rating ). Lastly there is a limit of 10 images a day. I have found that Google Goggles has OCR built in, so I won't be using this application any longer.

Works pretty well converting quotes from pics which is what I've been using it to do. Some texts I've come across that look "copied-out" the app has problem with by adding lots of periods and symbols of punctuation that aren't there. Every single time I use the app it asks me to rate it. So after the first 2 times I used the app I've had to go back and make many corrections to each document. That's why I'm giving it an average review.

This app could be so great. But it isn't. Here's why: It's really ugly, bulky buttons doesnt follow design rules. It's slow and force closes a lot (almost always). I tried to copy a part of the page, I could read the text with ease on the photo. However the app claimed the text to be 13fadaf32ewaww$ or something like it. After 10 unsuccesful attempts and 7 requests for writing a review, here it is. I'm looking for an alternative, and suggest you do to!

I followed the tips, tried landscape and portrait, whole page and closer up, and each time I got gobbledygook that had one or 2 words correct . . . from a b&w page using a standard font. This app has proven to be a waste of storage.

I screenshotted lyrics off a page and used the converter just to see how well it works. Everything was absolutely excellent. I love this app. The only downfall is it didn't find any text on one of my pictures where the text appeared over the actual picture. But overall a great app.

This is the best Ocr text copying app on the market, but please stop asking for me to rate each time. Gosh! Also, it should tell you when you copy text to clipboard, because it doesn't say anything when you click the button even though it works. You don't know if it worked or not until you paste the text.

This app works for everything I've tried to scan- mostly books, some product labels, etc. It only works online, though, and behaves very strangely and occasionally crashes when you try to use it offline. I get that the OCR takes a lot of ram, so it makes sense to pass it to a faster machine to do it, but the app description should say that it only works online, if an offline alternative isn't feasable.

I was impressed with the install size of this app, then I noticed why...the app uploads your image to a server to do all the work. Nowhere in the description does it mention that its sharing your file unencrypted with a server...boo hisss

I've used Mobile OCR on screen shots, downloaded images, and camera pics. No problems. A save to text feature would be great. Right now it's copy and paste and need to be connected to the internet.

I used this app to convert a photo of a recipe on a screen to text. Very impressive! OCR is generally full of garbled info, but this app still does a good job of capturing all of the right information, too. Just a but of text editing clean-up and voila! This app is actually a must-have.

Tried it the first time to scan a newspaper and it proceeded to come up with a series of exclamation marks, full stops ,commas, with a handful of letters in the mix.

Seems like something got worse with the last update . Won't access camera consistently. When it works it's a cool app but a lot of times it just doesn't work. Translation is working every time and I'm using B/W setting on camera.

When I'm try this first time it works fine ,but when I am try it second time it says "connection to the server unsuccessful"

The conversion has lot of wrong letters and symbols. They popup to rate this app every 2 secs... pls dont download this app

Could not convert a pristine image of 14 chars... got 3 chars correct.

Best to use good lighting if scanning straight from the camera. Otherwise - nonsense. Cannot work without an Internet connection.

Poor design. Slow. It doesn't work. You better type what you need to type because this app is useless. Tried three times with big characters and couldn't make it work. Long story short: bullshit.

I loved this app and purchased it. My money has been taken and I still only have 10 credits a day and it says payment failed but the money has been taken from my bank. Can someone help me please

When it works it's great but when it doesn't, which sadly more often than not, it's painful to use. Very buggy, sometimes it can be quicker to manually type out the text than wait for this app to work properly!

Okay app, sometimes it translates gibberish but works most of the time. Wish it didn't have credits, people want ocrs for less stress, not having to buy another app.

Tried to extract some test from a japanese product manual, the text extracted wasn't even close. Useless for Japanese language.
