I really liked this game, and that is from someone who generally dislikes simulation games-I'm totally hooked on it. I love the flavor and feel it really catches the theme well-I even find myself becoming a fan of some of the wrestlers! It misses a star for one important reason, the clarity of the system is very lacking-after playing a week I am not sure how I am affecting the rating and stat gain system with my booking choices. I simply don't know if I am doing things wrong or right-there's nothing to tell if you're doing good or bad, or real tips on how to improve. If the game could improve, it would be to have better in-game feedback on how your decisions are affecting your matches. Some people might like mechanical ambiguity, but most of us want to feel some sense of progression.
It's a real fun game! I would probably still rate the predecessor a bit higher, but not by much. And the mechanic of the promotion tokens just means that you have to strategize which wrestler to promote, which I think is an interesting addition. Top notch overall.
Didn't think I'd like it. Nicely done having the winner's name announced after the match would be cool aswel. Small addition. EDIT: The rating system might need some work. Somehow my 2 star shows bring in higher rating bonuses than my 3½ star shows.
Good fun, just like its predecessor, but your subscription for 3.99 a month isn't functional, keeps declining my attempts on Android. Other shop options work that I've gone for, but not the subscription. Did you stop doing them?
The game is fantastic, I am really enjoying what I have seen so far. There is a bit of a grind to it, in order to earn cash, but I like that aspect of the game. The characters are diverse and cool and the background music is great. I'm only in year 2 so I don't know how long the game is but it gets 5 stars from me.
Downgrading to 2 stars. Even with the flaws I was enjoying this but after two weeks i apparently have all the common wrestlers and so after waiting 10 plus hours for the store to reset I just get cards saying congrats but no new wrestler card. Also, they should make wrestler improvements within game easier to achieve or at least show a bar so you can see that you're getting close pushing a character. Also shows make almost no money???? Nearly impossible to make money doing shows.
One of my favorite apps of all time. I love matching up the feuds and rivalries and collecting all the factions. Constant updates keeps new characters fresh and fun.
I'm hooked to the game but alot of the pay aspects keep me from playing and doing more. Alot of non wrestler cards are just too expensive and I see the same jobber cards over and over in the shop.
Great fun if you don't want to spend real money you don't have too. Bit to unlock everyone quicker real money is needed to be spent.
I tried 80sMWR and had a blast, so I decided to try this one out. Not too bad for a follow up but the timer to reset the Game Cash shop could be a bit quicker. Factions could be a bit clearer but tag teams are easy to distinguish thanks to wrestler's stats. Maybe with an update will the store be a bit swifter but not bad!
Hard to level up even if you do use real money. But I keep playing, something about it keeps drawing me in.
Awesome wrestling booking gm game. Really something different and It's much better than the 80's mania wrestling game by far.
It was all going well, but now the game tells me I must update it to continue. When I click tge update bar, it takes me to Google Play where my only options are uninstall or play. If I click play, it takes me in a loop back to where I started.
This. Game. Is. Incredible. The art, the Teams, the Factions, the Rivalries, the Gimmicks... But there is still a single issue. Burnout. This game is really damn repetetive. If you are fine with that, cool. Go on ahead and get it. But if you aren't, take a break from it sometimes, and come back. It's just like resetting your brain. Oh, and... I just want to restart normally without having to go 20 damn years. Please.
It is a great game. It just isn't as good as 8MWR. There are innovations here that I'd like to have in the other game & the aesthetics are more pleasing. Where it falters is the massive amounts of everything required to do anything in this game, aside from collecting the cards. Also TOO MANY lady-cards for ONE title. The game is LOADED with them. Every time I enter the shop it's all women. Characters in 8MWR are far better as well. Features make it fun. Nowhere near as fun or accessible as 8MWR.
so far, i find it to be very similar to 80s mania wrestling. i'm only three months in, so i don't think it's fair to judge the game as being totally the same. the gimmick dynamic is new, for one. the feuds are also done differently, and somewhat de-emphasized, in my opinion. i have to say, i'd gotten used to the characters in the previous game and i kinda miss them. overall, i look forward to spending many hours with this game, just like the previous installment.
It may be because thr app may not be optimized for my device (Samsung Galaxy Tab 4E), but the only issue I have with it is the screen seems to have some sort of flashing effect as I play it. I don't have this issue with 8MWR, which is also installed on my device. Other than that, it plays exactly like the previous versions.
I've played the 80s version for a bit and LOVE (5 Stars worth) that one. This is newer and (for me) less nostalgic, but is a strong foundation for an amazing game! The card design is much improved from the 80s version and the there is an interesting change in show selection at the start of each month. As a new game, there is a lot of room to grow, but with a super solid game already out and some promising updates coming soon, this is worth jumping in early and getting a feel for it. I really appreciate the passion of the developers and the active fan community.
This game is absolutely one of my favorites. But there are a few things I would like to see. I would love to be able to control more than just one show. With that many wrestles for both men and women it can be hard to feel satisfied when barely anyone is on the actual show. 2nd, the ability to have a say in who actually wins a match. I know with achievments and all that it doesn't really work, but maybe have like a "creative" mode that dismisses the achievements when being creative. 10/10 game.
I really enjoy parts of the game, however I'd like the card options to be more expansive. When I restart I'd like to completely restart rather than 'keep everything just restart the history' as a new player I was testing things out now find myself with no way to build a fed well. And its heavily gated so you can't progress much without spending a load of money. Fine but its kinda brutal and gets boring quickly. A shame as there's a decent fun game there that would encourage me to contribute.
This is an outstanding game, and it's one that I can easily spend a lot of time on. The downside for me is the amount of actual money it would take to change the gimmicks in a reasonable amount of play time. With each free gimmick change token coming every two years, that's only 10 in a complete playthrough. At roughly a dollar per token, completing the set would be very expensive. That complaint, however, shouldn't scare people from the game. The characters are fun, and there is plenty to do.
I love it, just make every character important cause it sucks that some are lackluster in bio, gimmick, and stats. If you ever make another add full motion, doing there moves, finishers, etc. I'd pay 5 to 10 depending on quality. It's simple, fun, huge amount of characters to collect, tag teams are a thing and now tag finishers are too,can get repetitive but just take a break and come back it'll get fresh again(at least to me). Little hard to stay at top of the charts but that's part of the fun.
Fun, but nowhere near as good as 8MWR. It takes forever to max out cards, and you have to have gimmick tokens to switch to the new gimmicks, which you pretty much can't obtain without spending real money. Not enough options for the daily card purchases either, and it takes forever for new wrestler cards to rotate in from the "Exclusive" tab. It's such a grind compared to 8MWR, even though they're both made by the exact same team.
This game could easily be the best wrestling/GM game on the store if it wasn't so completely reliant on in-app purchases. I dropped money on 80's Mania because I never felt like I HAD to. I understand the need as a company to charge money for things. That's fine. However, it's close to impossible to make progress without spending real money on the already hard to get in-game currency. If the token system ever changes, I will gladly bump this to 5 stars.
Love but can't play after newest update. Uninstall and still says needs update. EDIT: Issue resolved.
Love it. Time killer, but easy to get stuck playing for hours.
Discovered 80s mania a month ago. Love it. Then I found out this was about to drop. Got excited and downloaded it. Love the new features, especially the factions. Only thing is I've done 1 year and haven't maxed anyone out. The starting stats and the max are so far apart it's almost impossible. Other than that I love it.
Its ok. Some of the new features are great like the change gimmick and Status and stables, but not enough to start over. Still too expensive for roster control options. Making some one turn good or bad cost a rediculous amount to start. Name changes for wrestlers and federations and tag team creation are really needed. Limiting the ladies to only certain matches needs to change. What if i want to recreate GLOW. How
I really enjoy all these games. This one has a ton to like about it too over the other installments. Ability points are tough to come by naturally like the other games but that's ok cause you can train them with in game cash, which gives you the incentive to keep playing. Number one contenders is a nice touch cause it makes filling up your card easier and quicker as well. But needed tokens to "upgrade" characters to next class and unlock gimmicks kills this game for me. Tokens are just to rare.
Not a bad game by any measures; you get exactly as advertised. Really reminiscent of the ol' "Champions of the Galaxy" card game, but it lacks as much depth & storytelling. Great wrestler diversity but the actual gameplay is a bit lacking in comparison and there's the challenge to get a decent roster/ratings early on; yes, it's simulatory, but sometimes too much... lacks a lot of interactivity for what could be a phenomenal game. Interface is a little awkward, but not too difficult to learn.
