it is unfortunate that this app does not function as it is shown on the getting started video. I dont know if this is an app or phone issue, which by the way I have a S9+. Format options is none existing along with the settings options as well. Oh, & there is no histogram. I hope that moment resolves these issues in the very near future. On a positive note, Moment does make great lenses.

The app is not bad when it works. The latest update seems to be causing a lot of issues for many. I had been using it on my Samsung Note 10+ for a month with no issues, now the app is stuck forever on the splash screen. To be fair, with android having so many different OEMs, it is hard for the devs to make it perfect on every device. But it would seems they need to test it more before rolling out updates and breaks the app.

Greetings ! I would like to point out that I have several bugs concerning my phone S10 plus. The number one thing is that I cannot use properly most of the options on my phone. Most precisely, the shutter speed which , normally, functions to 10sec and more, but mine stops functioning at 1/10 which doesn’t suit the work I make with this option. A clear fix from your part would be very much appreciated.

I bought this app mainly because I wanted the anamorphic preview/desqueze feature. It works, but the problem is that it's flaky. It sometimes doesn't save my anamorphic pictures. A camera app that does not save your pictures is completely unacceptable. I've lost some shots because of that. It's really frustrating. Plus, you can see that the iOS app is waaaaay better, which is an even bigger of a bummer.

It's the best I've found on the store for manual video. That isn't saying much, but this one is actually good. Actually allows me to adjust the frame rate without diving into an obscure settings menu, which is a plus. I just wish I could take advantage of my Pixel 3's ability to shoot 120 and 240 fps in 1080p. Would be even better if I could get 60 fps in 4K. I also wish i could manually adjust the video ISO below 100. It hits values below 100 on auto setting, so idk why I'm limited in manual.

I don't see the point of this app. It doesn't offer even basic useful features that the standard Samsung app does (can't switch between on-camera lenses, can't record video, can't assign volume buttons to shutter, can't save to SD - some of this is basic stuff) The settings panel gives no real customization, it's really just a portal to Moment's web site. Why no vignette removal? That would seem like a day 1 for the devs kind of thing. RAW support is nice, but sluggish. I don't see the point.

The app does not work well at all, even though it is a paid app. I think you should never have to pay for an app that does not work well. Resetting the shutter speed does not work. If you double tap the shutter speed, it resets the ISO to 'auto'. The 'level' function does not work properly. The phone can be level according to the app, but if you then rotate the phone exactly 90 degrees, it says the phone is skewed. Furthermore, there is no support for JPG+RAW, only one or the other. There is no HDR support for JPG or RAW whatsoever. There is no support for panorama, photosphere or video. So basically you are paying for an app that is not fully developed and the only advantage that it has right now is the RAW support, which other, free, camera apps have as well.

Very disappointed. Can't take selfies because the app just doesn't save them, it pretends to take the picture and then doesn't ACTUALLY take the picture. Also, histogram option is missing. Also also, doesn't shoot video, the primary reason I GOT the app (moment markets itself to filmmakers, but can't record video?) - miss me with this garbage until you can make it work. So disappointed with this. For the record, I use both a galaxy note 5 and an s8+, and all my gripes persist across both devices. No histogram, no video (which I only just learned is available exclusively on iPhone, and it's disgusting that the advertising is so misleading), and selfies absolutely do not save. How is it that a company who does such amazing work manages to drop the ball this badly on a whole platform? The longer it takes to make it work, the more devices will end up coming out that are no longer compatible. Supposedly there's a way to join the beta test team, but there's no information on how to do so. So like... What's the point in having this right now? I recommend Open Camera, it does everything Moment is supposed to do and more. And it's free.

Great app. But... is there no option to save captures to an SD card automatically? I shoot a lot of photos and videos but I keep having to move them manually. I have two Moment lenses and the shots are fine but I can't understand why other apps can store to SD cards but this one can't. I'd rather use this app, but have to use something else until this gets fixed. UPDATE Looks like this will be coming soon in an update per the developers.

After some stumbling and fumbling, I have managed to get this app to be somewhat functional on my pixel 3. By default anamorphic lens photos are not set to be de-squeezed, so that might be something others should be aware of. As a pixel 3 user, this shutter seems awfully slow and if you're not careful to hold still for a period of time photos can come out blurry and out of focus. I have a feeling this software doesn't take advantage of the Pixel Visual Core chip that is available to developers. I understand it's difficult to build an app that works on so many devices, but this would be a great addition to many photo-centric android users. If you could only improve the speed of taking photos, this would be a 5 star app for me.

App itself is great. Works well enough and integration with lenses is great...except for one. big. glaring. exception. Can we please, oh please get an anamorphic de-squeeze utility within the app. It doesn't even have to be when it captures, it can be a batch resize that you can run in a gallery utility after - just - something, anything, please. resizing options within android are abysmal, and if you don't have a computer nearby to process, the anamorphic is pointless to do quick photos with.

This is my second review, because the first one disappeared somehow. The app is useless if u have a phone with multiple cameras on the back, because u can not switch between them. Other than that the photo taking process is slow. Do not recommend it at all. If you can't update the app frequently, why bother having it on Android?! Had the app since July, still useless.

Jos. R. Mar 19, 2019

With current experience of application, no picture was able to be taken. Screen will freeze when shutter button was pressed. Recently contacted support for assistance, and I hope to come back to this review to change it for the better. Until this app runs smoothly and is operational, I do not recommend this app.

One big problem! If you could just sort out the orientation problem then this would be my go to app but as it is I spend far to long waving my phone around like a mad man trying to get it to the orientation I want. As it is I have returned to my Samsung stock camera pro mode. I would also like to see an improved histogram as the current one is poor. Great start though, I look forward to seeing updates in the (very?) near future.

I want to use this app but there are some issues. Firstly it keeps freezing on both my S7 Edge and OP 3T, this mainly happens when changing shutter speed with the image being split and rendering on the wrong side of the screen. Taking a photo solves this but its not ideal. Secondly I know this is a more "manual" app but sometimes I want to just shoot everything on Auto but get a RAW photo out of it. On both my S7 and 3T any setting you change can be reset back to auto, yet on this I'm not 100% how you do this. It seems double tapping the setting resets it but with iso and shutter most of the time it doesn't automatically change. Third the tap to focus is great, but i'd love to exposure being able to be set on this also. The stock camera apps on both S7 and 3T have this in pro mode. Finally the button to change between photo and video makes no sense, as it shows the setting you are currently on, would make more sense if it showed the video icon when you're in photo mode if you want to change.

Would give 5 stars, but I am having issues with uploading pictures to Instagram. The app itself also is very slow when trying to review the pictures I'm taking. I'm using the pixel 2 and it is over all very amazing the options you have. Once these problems are fixed and we can actually take video from the app I think it'll be one of the best camera apps out there.

At first I was not happy about paying when ios got it for free. Hey, nice things cost money. Whats a few bucks? Then they got video functionality first. Anyway, it worked for a while but now just boots up with a black screen. I still see the interface but its as if the lens was covered. The shutter button does not function either. I stopped using it at this point but I really want to. Please help!

I love moment. But i came over to the s10 from ios. What the heck? I paid for the app only to find it lacks the most basic features that are normal in IOS. No native lens selector, no de-squeeze for anamorphic (this has been fixed). iPhone is not defacto king anymore and moment is not just a startup. There's really no excuse for not having full features on Android on Android. UPDATE: Thanks for fixing the de-squeeze. It seems to be working on S10 now. I'm going to up it a star and will keep watching. It really is inadequate at the moment. no 60, no lens selections. It's not fair to call this a pro app when it has less features than the native Camera app. A lot of us are switching to Android and the app need to be equal. Keep up the good work.

Ray. B. Aug 7, 2019

I played with the app, and I liked it. It supported 2/3 of the lenses on the S10+, and lacked some of the functionality that the native Samsung camera app had that I use, like stabilization. Although I own a gimbal, I have been taking advantage of making videos without it lately because of how well it works. I've requested a refund. Until these issues are resolved, it's a no-go.

Pros: Really fast, as fast if not a little bit faster than the stock Galaxy camera. Great image quality without any obnoxious post-processing. Silent, no obnoxiously loud "shutter" sound. Clean, functional, well-designed interface. Decent manual controls, auto settings produce good results too. Cons: No HDR support, currently the biggest issue holding it back from being my main camera app. Photo orientation is often wrong and requires rotating afterwards. Grid in video mode not centered.

Gar. B. Dec 11, 2019

I had this app on an iPhone 7, and loved it, but this app (on pixel4) is a major disappointment! No camera lens selection so zooming in/out switches lens. There also appears to be no way to make the app take photos using the full screen/or a perspective other than 4x3. Further edit... Yes, Moment, I KNOW the camera lens zooms in just like the Google App... The issue is they switch at will, so you end up getting to take a photo of the back of the Moment lens! Why can't you fix. Waste of$$!

Ars. R. Jan 4, 2020

The camera controls are good but there is no support for hard selecting different cameras on the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus. It doesn't even seem to switch to the built in tele or wide lens while zooming. This seems like a must have feature. Edit: Now able to switch between cameras but only wide angle and standard seem to be supported. I don't see a way to select the third telephoto lens.

A. May 20, 2019

App has improved greatly over the last few updates. Definitely catching up to the ios version. In the update it says that you can now shoot raw + jpeg. Sadly on my note 9 that's still not an option and there's still no way for me to manually choose which lens I'm using. Finally would love to be able to shoot 4k60p with the app. That said all the other added features are excellent. Bumped up from 3 to 4 stars!

Jos. S. Oct 26, 2019

So it's not bad. I mean definitely not as bad as some of the reviews say. That being said, it has a lot of neat features and the UI is actually pretty intuitive. Really lets you get your manual settings into play, or at least realize that 95% of the time the auto settings are actually correct. The performance of the app, however, leaves a lot to be desired. It can be sluggish and unresponsive, takes a moment too long to fire up, and it crashes far too often to be reliable. Ymmv.

Bry. U. May 18, 2019

This app is great for manual control, but my biggist issue is the interface. I would give it 5 stars if i could see the entire image I am shooting. The controls cover a third of the screen making it hard to seen anything on the right side of the shot. It's a shame because the fetures in Moment's camaera app are way better than most of the other camera apps I've used.

Mat. U. Nov 15, 2019

The interface is great, and this is one of the few good third party camera apps that can use the ultra wide camera on the Note 10 plus. Sadly Samsung doesn't allow third parties to use the telephoto lens. It would be amazing for a macro lens with manual focus. This app is also updated often, and they are quick to fix it when a Samsung update breaks things (again, Samsung fault for breaking it).
