Does not work. I've installed and tried using the app and have not been able to do anything. The only thing that happens after choosing a language and starting a session is the blue ellipses pop up beside the character, constantly bouncing as if it's loading something but nothing happens regardless of how long I wait. I tried emailing their support but after 2 weeks I've received no response whatsoever.
Before the previous update, I could not get the game to load properly! I contacted the developer, and she was nice enough to listen to the issue. she asked for more information to be able to help me; and shortly after I sent the additional information, I received an update that fixed the problem! 😃 There was at least one person with the same loading issue as me; and I bet if that person ran this app again, it would successfully run! But trouble shoot aside, I love the content of this app! 😃
Honestly this app has been a quite a let down. It activated fine, I allowed the permission, picked my language and picked my scenario without issue; doing anything else, however, was impossible. I was stuck with a bobbing blue elipsis, as if it was loading, with no signs of changing. Re-installed it a few times and there was no change either. I want my money back.
just does nothing, the vr cartoon just stands there. no speaking, nothing happens. As you can see from the other reviews, this app doesn't do anything close to advertisered. I've sent several emails to the developer, and have gotten no response. Don't wait for time with this app.
I love the idea of this app. Execution is not that great. You absolutely will not be learning a language with this app. It can be used as a supplement for someone who already has some knowledge of the language. For example, I want to learn Japanese. There is no background on the language. I could barely repeat any answers. I was lost. Spanish is a different story. I am way more advanced in Spanish so I could pronounce words and follow along easily.
Completely unnecessary, you can have the same conversations in the Mondly free app. The VR animation is horrible. The voice acting too. The voice detection works quite bad. I wish I could return the app and take my money back.
nothing actually seems to work. Just blue dots hang in space looking like they are trying to get data, but nothing ever comes. No on screen instructions so I don't know if I should be waiting for something. waited 5 minutes, got a refund.
The app has potential. While I understand some Spanish, the app immediately went to learning complex sentences and I was lost very fast.

Doesn't work. You can get to a menu but can't actually select anything.
Good idea. But the Arabic doesn't display. All the letters of Arabic words are jumbled up.

crashes after a few seconds
I really enjoyed this app, I'd love to see a shopping situation and maybe visit to a tourist attraction, public transport, and a wine bar. I use a pixel and find it gets very hot to the point of having to stop to cool down. I also struggled with the pointer it slips off the recording bit sometimes when the person is further away. But overall very good price for the fun
I can see the potential here, but you should have kept this in development a while longer. Super buggy. There's a lag in the mic, it doesn't activate until I'm halfway through the first word, at which point it doesn't recognize what I'm saying no matter how good my pronounciation is, and I can't advance. Very frustrating, all but useless in its current state.
I'm on a ZTE axon 7 using bobovr with integrated head phones for this daydream app. In order to play the vr language learning games, you must give app access to your audio recorder. The idea of the game is to have conversations with vr agents aloud in foreign languages. Each response you give is supposed to be an on-the-spot audio recording. So you need to sit in a quiet location to play the game. However, the audio record button in the vr environment hardly ever works when you're "playing", and the speech segmentation and word recognition software is pathetic (as other reviewers noted). It wouldn't even work in my native language. Simply put, I want a refund. The developers and CEO should be ashamed of themselves for releasing and making unwitting customers pay for this terrible, broken version of their app. EDIT #1: In response to the CEO Alex's reply, I edited my original review's grammar, but I did not change any of the content. EDIT #2: In response to Alex's reply to my review, I want to re-emphasize how bad this app is. Out of 12 reviewers, 6 reviewers say that the app doesn't work. I find it hard to believe Alex's response that they tested "tens" of phones.
Galaxy S7 with Gear VR. It would not even open for me. Tried a few times, I would like a refund please. I will edit here ig anything changes, and if I receive my refund, in case anyone else has similar problem. Too bad, seems like a good idea.
The hotel portion is the worst. I can pronounce French and Spanish but the app hears something completely and totally different.
It's a great app, found it really helpful to learn. I had no problems communicating, and no fear of doing it wrongly. Great app!
I'm not a tech geek and maybe I'm not the best person to ask for advice when it comes to out-of-the-box VR games or apps, but this app changed my perception on immersive learning. It's fun, cool, has awesome graphics and speech recognition! :)
It really has so much bugs. But if you keep improving, it will be the best language learning app ever made. Amazing potential. Keep motivated and work hard ;)

I like it! I'm learning Farsi with the regular Mondly app and I'm using VR to learn Japanese. But I have a problem where I can't even get past the first phrase... Please fix this bug and add Farsi. Thank you!
It is a great app because it's interactive,it helps you practice your language level in a very realistic ambiance that gives you confidence in real life when you get one of the situations.
The app runs smooth, I experienced not trouble using it. I congratulate the developers for what they did here, really liked it. The app is also useful, it really helped me to lern german, no struggling understanding. The lessons are precise, and deliver what was intended. Over all, the best app of this kind on the market!
The app is very good! A few things to improve: 1) Create more scenarios within the stories (make the story have more consequences. E.g When you don't have your ticket in the train the conductor can make you pay your fine there or at the end of your trip) 2) Provide more options for responses 3) When there is a lot of writing because of the dialogue it's not always very clear. Other than that, very happy with this. I've already learned a few Italian words!
