MonkeyMote Music Remote
It fully supports the popular foobar2000, MediaMonkey, Winamp, AIMP and JRiver Media Center media players.
The app connects to the media player running on your Windows PC via your WiFi network and allows you to view information about currently playing tracks and control every important playback feature.

Please note that the automatic server discovery feature requires at least Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and is not supported by all devices. It is disabled by default on devices that are not running at least Android 4.4 due to an operating system bug that can trigger reboots on some devices.

It's reliable, as long as you ensure the connection. Some quality of life improvements would be great, though. Motification area controller would be great. I know it takes more battery, but st home it wouldn't matter. Also, a more friendly UI based on tabs, that responds to swipe input would help a lot. Currently, the interface is very disorganized.
This app works GREAT when its set up, but it would benefit from a better tutorial and troubleshooting information. Some minor UI/UX things that would make it better imho: 1. Optional dark theme. 2. "other playlists" should be renamed to just playlists. 3. compacter UI. Im using a 5.8" 2960 pixels high SGS9 and i can only fit 11 songs/artists/playlists on my screen at once in a 15000 file library. 4. Sorting by album artist. 5. Option to remove the (un)rated/unplayed songs playlists.
This app works great and has been my goto for remotely controlling my local music library wirelessly for years. I don't believe it's changed much for an entire decade, but neither has Winamp, and I say don't fix what ain't broke! 10/10
Just upgraded to a new phone with Android 11. If there is a way to get back into portrait mode in 11, I haven't found it--I'm stuck in landscape, with an impossibly tiny area to scroll through the left-sided menu.
Super unhappy with this. The one feature i wanted was being able to see lyrics. After checking lyrics are displayed by AIMP on my PC I cant find a way to have them display on my android. Help on this would be really appreciated.
I use it for Winamp and I love it!!! Please add voice control or the ability for Google Voice Assistant to control it!!!
Regret paying for this very mediocre app, compared to the ios version, this version is very buggy and comes with a poorly implemented user interface. Don't waste your money on this.
Works, but pricey for what it offers, and only gives extremely limited control options. Does not even display lyrics.
This is truly helpful and allows me to control a substantial library of music housed in my HTPC. Would like to see some small enhancements in the future.
Perfect for controlling my music server when I'm on the patio. Now I just have to get the wifi signal stronger outside.
Good functionality, not very stable.
Far too complicated to get working with IP addresses etc. Waste of an hour trying to get it to work. Gave up.

Connected flawlessly to foobar2000. The lite version provided the same functionality but with ads. Using the paid version to support. For those that kind connect, check that your firewall settings has granted access to foobar2000
I flip between this on Foobar2000 and Plex regularly depending on what I'm doing. I loved the Airplay support it has on ios for remote playback on my device, unfortunately it's Android equivalent and is sorely missing. Would love to see this get a Ui refresh at some point. More specifically it would be nice if it tapped into Android's media playback to make the OS think something is playing locally and give playback controls in a persistent notification.
This app functions very well. There are just not enough functions. From the current playlist, one can neither go directly to the currently playing artist or the current album. My biggest gripe is rather about the size of the album cover. It might as well be an icon. Just move it to the left of the scrolling menu. Altogether too much room is spent on the current playlist. Plenty of room for the cover as well as the playlist. Also, the app not rotate to portrait mode! Not good. Only worth 3.5 ⭐⭐⭐.
