In a world where large monsters roam, and people everywhere make a living hunting, there's a remote village of people who follow a different set of customs. They are the Monster Riders, a people who don't hunt but instead form bonds with monsters.
Unlike hunters, they raise and live in harmony with monsters, forming inseparable bonds with them using mysterious artifacts known as Kinship Stones.
The monsters that form kinships with Riders, known as "Monsties," possess incredible powers. By becoming a Rider, you too can befriend countless Monsties, riding them as you explore a vast, exciting world. Join the adventure and "Ride On!"

• Story
The story begins in a forest near the village of Riders. Three young friends—the hero, Lilia, and Cheval—stumble upon a shining egg.
The trio perform a playful imitation of the Rite of Kinship, only to be shocked when it actually succeeds!
The egg hatches, revealing a baby Rathalos, a flying wyvern also known as "the King of the Skies." The trio affectionately name him "Ratha," and take him back to the village.
Days later, without warning, the village is beset upon by a monster infected by "the Black Blight." They manage to drive it away, but not before it devastates the town—and leaves indelible scars in the hearts of Cheval and Lilia.
A year passes...
The hero receives a Kinship Stone from the Village Chief and officially becomes a Rider. Cheval and Lilia both leave the village, each on their own path. The hero, though separated now from childhood friends, partners up with the cheerful Navirou, and embarks upon a new adventure into the world of hunters.
A story of friendship and triumph await you—ride on into the world of Monster Hunter Stories!

- Multiplayer (Network Battles, etc.) is available only after a certain amount of game progress.
- Network Battles are only available against other players of the paid Android version of this app.
- Network Battles are not available against players of the Japanese version of this app.
- Play in an area with a good connection to ensure the best online experience.
- You must sign in to Google Play game services to use multiplayer features.
• Additional Notes
- To use this app, you must agree to the "Monster Hunter Stories End User License Agreement" (link below) when booting the app for the first time.

The game is good and the story was great but I have to give it one star because of the audio problems, its been a year since that error shows up and until now the devs didn't fix it. To the phone that has a version of android 10 has this error. (sound stutter and hitch)
After it has been made playable without online verification which I very much appreciate, I then came across another problem. The audio seems to glitch/skip or buffer leaving me to mute the game as I play. If you ask what device I am using, its a S21ultra so no slow phone issues there. I hope you guys will fix this soon, Thank you.
Have a sound problem and tha game always restarts after few mins of play. It is really frustrating especially when you are far from your save point and autosave. Please fix this!!!
It's a really fun rpg and I'd give it 5 stars of it weren't for the saving. Well, the saving alone is not the issue, it's the fact that if you minimise the game for more than 30 seconds than it resets. That, with the fact save points are kinda rare, really kills it
So far I love this game. Between the designs and story line I feel it was very much thought out and goes to show just what mobile gaming is able to accomplish. I look forward to see much more of this style and advancement in the futer
So this is a game I could really see myself playing. However I've only played for probably 8 hours total and three times already after I hatched quality eggs and made huge progress it set me back at least an hour of play. It makes me nervous to play it.
Game is great but sadly lacks controller support that would easily make this a 5 star for me. On screen controls for mobile games isnt great and it being the only option hurts it.
The only reason this isn't a 5 is the same issue seemingly everyone has run into and that's this sound glitch thing. I literally play this on low or silent it's unbearable at times. You patch this, I'm coming back and giving this 5 stars EASY, great game and we'll deserved otherwise.
I totally love this monster hunter game, the graphics and the gameplay are really great and suitable for mobile game. Edit in May 2022: finally, thanks for the update. So the game is enjoyable to hunt the monsties for longer duration. Totally appreciato dev team works.
Game is good and interesting, but sound problem is remain unsolved. Users writing that this is about stereo speakers or smth. Fix sound stuttering and I will update the review.
Tried purchasing when on sale but no option due to being subscribed to Play Pass. I contacted Play Store and Developer Support and neither responded to me asking if there was a way for me to purchase it. Obviously they don't value their customers.
It keeps crashing/restarting the game after a few turns of battle. I can't even play anymore and stuck with my progress.
The game is good...some complains that the audio have problem but i didn't got any kind of problem in-game.Also the qr codes i got from 3 years ago still works! And the devs are very accommodating when it comes to minor problems
The game having an audio problem (sounds laggy) and when the device overheating, it will force close (losing progress because we haven't save the game)
It gives me the nostalgia of playing Pokemon for the first time. I've seen alot if people complain about audio glitches but it only happens once a day for a second
Sometimes the sounds are cracking. Hope there will be an update fix. My device is Blackshark 4. Will rate 5 stars after the fix. Thank you.
The sound has recently been getting quieter randomly during cut scenes which is why I took a star off if it gets worse I will up date my review but as for the game and game play I love it.
This is a prime example when a game is successfull, it doesn't need greedy pay to win microtransactions. Great port of an awsome game, feels I'm playing on a console and not on my mobile. 5 stars from me. (and I don't use to write reviews on playstore).
Needs controller support, this should be a design standard in android ports. Also different control options, say an option like the one implemented in Kotor would be amazing.
I truly love this game, I love how you can tame and befriend the monsters as opposed to just killing them, I wish you had this option in the main monster hunter games!
It's a good game sometimes clunky but not that bad it's a very good game with my favorite monsters so after playing this I can start 2 and hope they will come out with 3 soon
Unable to play error saying not enough space when I have 30+ gigs available. Once I play I can rate.
This is a very fun game, and absolutely not made redundant by the sequel on switch. I could go on about everything good about the game itself for a very long time. But as a port....it's not great. After a few days of playing, the audio now skips every time a new sound (like walking) would play. I've tried every fix I can, both inside and outside of the game. No audio device or in game audio setting will fix it. It's so maddening I have to play without audio.
So far I'm very impressed with the game but removing 1 star as you can't save progress outside of a handful of places, I understand not allowing saving anywhere for gameplay reasons but other games at least allow a suspend feature. Because of this you can go a long time without saving and lose your progress if you have to use your phone for something else (like taking a call) Also no gamepad support is disappointing
Haven't got far into the game yet but the graphics are great and the game runs perfectly on my Xperia L4 and mid price range Lenovo tablet which was a nice suprise tbh, neither which are top end devices
This is a truly great RPG for mobile. Excellent port from a DS game, it has great optimization (provided you have the recommended hardware) and the graphics are great for a mobile game. Gameplay is also great, very easy to get into. The world is expansive with a lot of things to explore, but it's quite linear as you need to progress in the story to access new areas. The downside for me is the always connected DRM, if you don't have a stable internet connection you can't play the game. Wish they could remove that. Also, haven't been able to do network battles as it be bug or something. Just couldn't get it to work for PVP. Still would recommend this game for anyone looking to play a new RPG.
This looks like it WOULD have been a great game - however, the device I use for Android gaming is specifically for times when internet access isn't feasible. Despite there being NOTHING in the Important OR Additional Notes about it, I get a license error every time I try to play offline, even after reaching a save point. And Capcom, of course, points out that after I install it, I can't get a refund, despite not mentioning anywhere that a connection is needed to play it. The most ironic part? I didn't wait for this to go on sale, because I wanted to help give incentive to bring more quality games to mobile.
The game is great. I almost bought it on my 3DS ages ago, but overall I'm not a fan of the system. This port was a great price and gave me the ability to play on my phone without having to bring a second device. The reason for 2 stars off is that I bought this to play on some long plane rides, but it turned out the game gives me a license error if I don't connect to the internet. I'm not playing the multiplayer, just trying to keep myself occupied during some traveling.
Some people complain about audio and visual glitches but I have yet to experience this after having 20hrs of playtime. The game is great, definitely on my list of best android games. Being on play pass is a game changer. I can't play tap and click, cash grab games. I own most of the console ports as those are real games to me. Playing this on my fold3 is awesome!
