Monster Smart

Fairly easy and simple to use but a few things can be confusing. There needs to be an option to remove the weather/temperature box at the top of the screen if the user wishes to. Everytime I open my app the box loads super slow and pops up only when I go to turn the lights on, which puts me in that screen every single time.

I'm using leds so I would like to say that these are very hard to set up, I mean, they did kind of suck, but not really, I got them from Walmart and when I set them up & I put my on, they turned on and were flashing constantly, I couldn't turn it off unless I unplug them, but after I read the instruction and installed the & the app is pretty cool, I mean, you can design your own light and your setting, and that's really cool. I give it a 4 (sorry for any miss spells) & I hope this is helpful :)

Y is the the largest app on my phone its just a light remote? [Oldagain: Update ok this is the worst smart light app ever. Doesn't work half the time. Widget never ever loads. It works, but it's buggy. Of all the options it has, i can only use maybe 6 (within 2 categories) if I use the others, the lights freeze in that mode then go offline. It's a real bugger to get working again. Usually involves removing the lights from the AP and setting them up again almost from scratch. I don't know if it's an app issue or lights (3 =6' monster light strings) either way guys, fix this and update. It's really annoying. Your product wasn't cheap...

Sometimes it's a bit buggy but for the price and options you shouldn't complain these are affordable LEDs and they're not bad and I own alot of govee products still solid if needed more I'd get them 👍 The reason why most are probably not working bc ppl dont research leds or anything controllable doesn't work on 5g internet

The requirements are too specific, you need to have 2.4ghz wifi but if you have a router that doesnt let you set it it just wont connect to your product

FORCED WIFI operated light strip ? Im done with this company. Wifi to turn on a light from something called smart seems like the dumbest thing ive ever seen in tech for the past several years.

To whom it may be concern what would make the lights so much better if they come with the music app and a way to have the color change with the program you are watching on TV or some kind of microphone feature

Stupidly unstable can't switch between mode even if i leave my phone always on. Go with more proven solution like Philips Hue it works 100% same setup testing environment.

It's alright. I keep my LED strip on a low light around my desk all day. One thing I'd really like is an ability to change the brightness of the device based on the time. But the functions it does have are good enough for how I use it.

I don't know what's worse, the completely non functional app, or their products that don't respond to their program, or function at all for that matter. The app quite literally will not control any functions of the lights, you set them up, you can play with them, but as soon as you close the app the lights no longer respond. They'll try and tell you this is an isolated incident but this is the case across the board, I've tried SERVERAL monster products. They don't care about functionality.

App works, lights don't. Tired of waking up in the middle of the night to see my TV lights on, and I cannot turn them off because the lights have disconnected from my wifi on their own(every night). I'm close to throwing them in the trash and getting non smart lights like how it should be.

Can't have two devices connected to LED lights, kicks one person off when the other connects, please fix this issue as this is my only problem. Tired of reconnecting on each device.

Its not bad that i can change the colors and options of my leds with a large variety of them. My main issus is how it takes almost 360 metabytes by being a remote control for a single led strip? Its kinda concerning

The app worked great at first. A week later, I can't connect 50% of the time, and when I can, I can't move beyond basic color. Changing tabs freeze the app.

Terrible experience. Lights will not connect and customer service is so useless. They say the same steps that I've already done. I wouldn't recommend anything from this company and will be returning all the product I've bought to the store.

I got the smart flex 6.5ft 2 of them. Hooked right up works amazing. Did the manual hook up was super fast and lights are really cool. I love my lights.. app has no issues either follow instructions its simple. For most.. lmao

This rating is based off my experience with other free led remote apps, I haven't tried any of the other "smart" devices on this app besides the lights. It's definitely my favorite. It's ad free, doesn't restrict you to a select number of color options, and has an option for your own rotating colors. It is difficult to get it connected at first, but that seems to be a common issue with almost all "smart remote" apps as far as I'm aware. Good app if you are patient.

When I got them, they worked great. After I had bought a new router though and switched the wifi, they wouldn't connect despite me attempting to reset them every way possible. Not a single thing worked and they still haven't connected. Along with this (I don't mind it but it's just low quality) they're really short. I could probably buy something much higher quality with the same amount of money. Please don't buy these.

Works well for about two months until the lights give out, good colors, easy to use app but it is very low quality, the stick does not work either and requires tape.

If you expect anything more from a $10 - $15 product than the ability to have either white or colored lighting then shame on you. If you paid any more than the aforementioned, then double shame on you. As others have stated, settings are glitchy, connecting can sometimes be a bear and the device(s)/app almost always need more attention than they should require for simple use. Set your expectations low should you decide to purchase otherwise consider more pricier options from other manufacturers.

(Problem occured with led lights) Worked at first after a lot of effort trying to get them to connect. But then not even a day after I installed them, the app stopped letting me change the tab within the led settings. Basically, I was now stuck on the color tab when I'm trying to switch to the scene tab. Kinda defeats the purpose of me getting the lights sence I can no longer set it to automatically change color. What a shame...

First use they were working decently. It was a tedious process just to get everything connected, but I managed to do so. However, my LED strip won't connect to my WIFI anymore. Feels like I wasted money.

When it works, it is great. But the app is really glitchy and needs work.

I love this! The connecting part is kinda hard but it can get easy. The music part does not work and im kinda butt hurt about that. The lights work perfectly fine.

It's a great product, has a great app, great price. The only reason I hesitated to make it 5 stars is becuase the app has a minor bug with opening the app back up while the lights are on. Sometimes it makes all the pictures large and I can't see the modes that well so I close and open the app and it works again. I hope that it gets fixed soon though

Works fine at first. Degrades over time. First, setting up is sketchy. It's not difficult to follow the instructions, however it takes about 10 or more tries to get it to connect. The software quits working and loses the device after a few weeks, then you have to set it up again. I've had these strips for about 2 years now (not a n00b). I had to set them up again yesterday. (what a pain). Now my google assistant doesn't see the device and has dropped the app. When I attempt to "set up a new device" in the google assistant app, I can find the Monster Smart app. Click to "link a device". It acts like it's going to link but doesn't. I'm sent back to the "link a device" page. I've been trying to link it for more than an hour with no luck on the Monster Smart help.

I have definitely dealt with some trash apps for lighting, but this one is really up there. No response from device on any method of trying to get it connected to WiFi. AP mode, EZ mode, auto-scan, add manually... None of it works. I purchased the Orb to integrate with the rest of my smart home. Alas, the app seems to be coded by four year-olds who don't understand that you don't need to search for a device when you are directly connected to it via AP. Returning this garbage. Never again.

This app was easy enough to setup with my strip lights, but I gave it 2 stars because it stupidly requires you to keep your device's (phone/tablet) screen on when you have it in the music tab. While the screen is on, the lights dance in sync with the music, screen goes off...the lights stop. That's ridiculous and annoying. Change that and I'll give the app more stars.

Needs consistency. There is a "flash" mode but it doesn't go very fast although the lights are capable of doing so, as seen in the "music" portion which is pretty buggy but still moves faster than the "flash" mode. "Color range fade" should also be an option. If you want more opinions or someone to code it for you for volunteer experience contact me. :)
