Montana Solitaire
Goal
- The goal of Montana is to arrange the cards into four rows ordered from left to right, 2 through King, each row having a different suit.
Deal
- All 52 cards are dealt into 4 rows of 13 cards each. After dealing, the aces are removed, leaving 4 blank spaces.
Play
- A blank space can be filled by the next rank of the same suit as the card to its left. For example, the 4 of diamonds can be placed in a blank space to the right of the 3 of diamonds. No cards can be placed to the right of a king. If there are multiple blanks to the right of a king, none can be used without moving the king. The leftmost column can be filled with a 2 of any suit." +Shuffles
- When there are no moves left, a shuffle can be used. This will keep any cards which have already been placed (for example if the 2-6 of diamonds are placed in the bottom row, they will not be removed during a shuffle). Once all of the shuffles have been used, the game is over and the player's score will be recorded.
Score
- The player will score 1 for each card correctly placed. A win is worth 48 points.
Tips
- Just tap a card to move it to its location, no dragging is necessary. You can click on a blank space to highlight the card that can be moved there. Clicking on a blank on the left side of the board will highlight all of the 2's. Clicking on a 2 will highlight all of the locations it could be moved to (if there is more than one).

Game is poorly put together. The card value is very difficult to see. You have no ability to go back if you touch the wrong card.
Simple, solid graphics that make for a very challenging game to win. Almost as hard as accordion solitaire.
Love this game but it's so frustrating when the game will suddenly reset in the middle of playing and you lose your progress.
I am so glad I found this. Was taught this game back in the 60's. It is challenging and everyone should try it. you will never want to play regular Solitaire again
Last played this on a Commodore 64. Loved it then, love it on my Transformer Prime now!

Pop up ads in front of game while i am trying to play.
Fun game to pass the time playing but wish there was a "Reset" for clearing stats.
I came across this game several years ago..and I loved it..but didn't know the name of this game.. Until I did some soul searching..tired of the same games that lure you into spending big bucks! Put your brain to work! And it's "FREE" thank you!!!
Recently the ads (between games) are blank and you cant move to the game. I have to leave the game, kill the task and then start over. Needs to fix!

Super fun and challenging! Great way to pass the time.... also uses very little memory, which I love, as my phone has very little memory to start with.....

game is great & works perfect only problem, & its a major one are the obnoxious pop up ads. Uninstalled as a result.
And when u do play it takes u out of the game & sometimes shuts down because of the ad!

Very addictive game. Great alternative to standard solitaire.
No undo, no sound, no shuffle button - must wait until no moves remain before shuffle - and the shuffle puts the gaps randomly, not behind the sequence like other Montana games.
Nice. Too small card numbers. A big number and only one symbol for suit is enough. Turn data or wifi off and no adds :)

I love this game
I'm so glad I found this version of solitaire because the last time I played before this app was probably before the turn of the century. This game, while tough, is never so terribly hard you will have a fit. And it challenges you to think ahead about when to move which card to get the most cards in place before you have to shuffle. All in all a good way to work your brain and kill time. I would recommend getting it
