Montessori Words helps kids learn and understand two fundamental concepts:
• First, the app helps kids understand that words are made up of sounds/phonics (phonemic awareness). For each word, your kids can touch the empty rectangles where letters must be dragged to complete the word, and hear the sound the corresponding letter(s) produces.
• Secondly, the app helps kids memorize the phonics associated with letters by providing a phonics-enabled alphabet where kids can touch each letter and hear the associated phonic.
Montessori Words allows you to select words according to their difficulty or sound categories.
• Level 1 displays a three-letter word with no difficulty for beginning readers (CVC words).
• Levels 2 and 3 offer more complex words that contains more complex phonics (as long vowels sounds or blends).
• Alternately, your child can choose from 44 sound categories--choose words that contain a specific sound (for example, long a, “k” sound, and so on).
To create an enjoyable experience, the app also includes sounds, animations, and interactive visual effects that are displayed after a word is completed.
Choose capital, lower-case, or cursive letter display for a greater challenge.
Montessori Words also features a movable alphabet that allows open-ended activities for young children learning their letters.

I love this app,but the animations are way too long. You can't even scroll and pass,the option to make them short isn't working. It's a good app just fix the animations problem. My child lost interest in your app because of them
Great app for Montessori kids learning to read and write! Just make sure you look for the lower case letters!
It's also for beginners that need to figure out how to hear the word and then touch the letters below to fill out the squares. In movable alphabet, you can make words that are have a initial consonant, a final consonant, and a short vowel.
Literally only 3 words per level on the lite version. Animation lasts way too long. Not worth it.
It's a nice app. But can you please work more on the 'c' and 'q' sounds since they both have more than one sounds.
only allows you to see 3 words.... sun, cat & kid. We can't get passed those three words.

my 3yr old son has been playing this app for about 4months and I think its great.... he will point at letters on signs and say the sound
Let's face it, there are hardly any words in this free edition of the app. It's not really an app to use, only to see if you want to buy the full version. And even then, there are hardly enough words to tell if I want to. Also, the animations between words are ridiculously long, and I've checked the "shorter animations" box already in settings. It's like 10 seconds - WAY too long! Don't bother with this one. Nice concept but not worth it.
