Moon Atlas 3D

I've had this app before, downloading it again on a new device. You simply can't fault it. The older hand drawn color map harkens to the early days of lunar cartography and it sings here as an alternate view because it approximates almost exactly to what the backyard amateur is capable of given a medium to large aperture instrument. The other moon imaging is of course spot on here too as well. You get options to how you wish to see the moon for your own real-time or armchair navigation.

Nice app, but sadly the supplied anthropogenic features that are listed are out of date and even worse the landing sites are slightly incorrect (50-100km). The Lunar map itself is also hopelessly inaccurate and oftentimes plainly false (Mare imbrium is listed as oceanus procellarum but the supplied topographic map corrects all those little things. Useful offline app but as an atlas only useful if you already know most of the craters by heart. The resolution of the sat map is also not great.

This is a great moon app. The one thing l would add is the ability to flip to horizontal mode so it would show full screen on a smart TV or TV with Mirroring capability so you can see the moon full screen on a large screen. l present Astronomy programs to students and that would be helpful.

This is a premature review but I just downloaded it while looking through my Celestron Ultima 8 at the full moon and it is exactly what I was looking for. Posidonius and it's neighbouring craters looked exactly alike. Being able to identify some of craters also a good reference point for me to see where things are. I can see me using this app for a long time. But what is wrong with some of the people giving 1* reviews here about not being very fun.. How many people look at an ATLAS for fun?

Some of the Apollo landing dates are wrong. For instance Apollo 15 landed on the Moon on 30th July, and returned to Earth on 7th August, the date shown here. Looks like someone should have read Wikipedia closer. App works well though

If you have read George Leonard's book "Someone else is on the Moon", here is a way to follow in his footsteps. You can quite easily find potential signs of intelligent activity and see things change as the updates happen. It can be addictive!

Very very bad. When it reached 99%. I thought the download is done but the download restart. That is very disappointing thing

Terrible interface. Search box so small it's not readable. UI text so larger that it overlaps.

U can rotate,zoom in and out with your finger as u want.u can increase and decrease or remove names of craters on moon.u can see or unsee names of mares on moon.excellent app.can't be better than this.

Very handy being an amature astronomer. Landings on the moon will happen more regularly will you update the landing sites, there needs updates to include Chang'e 5 etc, great app thanks👍

Beautiful app for viewing, but no clickable info on objects. How wide and deep are craters? How high are mountains?

App is good but moon surface terrain is not so good when i zoom the surface. Improve the surface terrain to high definition moon surface.

Best tool for watching the Moon with a telescope I could find, far better than online sites.

Simple yet beautiful and very effective as a companion to Lunar observers.

Where's TEXAS!!? It's 1 of da biggest states yet nowheres on the moon??! Whaaa...aaaa...aaaaat! Also it doesn't allow you to zoom in close enough.

Samsung Galaxy S5 = Well, So Far So Good, I guess.... it didn't take long to find - what appears to be - 2 pyramid looking type structures, on the "dark side" of the moon. Their inside the Creator labeled "Compton". IF Their Not pyramids - They'v Gota Be SOME SORT of Artificial Structure (I Wud Think Anyway) - What I'm Lookin At DOES NOT Look Like Anything That Wud Happen Naturally ~ Even On The Moon. ...Cuz I'm a Big Moon Expert Now, Yep = "I" Wud Know !

I love this app and because of this we can see the moon how it is and we can even just think and even you can see it's true or not
