Years of updates have perfected this app. No ads. Latency is fantastic over 5ghz ac. I can stream my desktop PC to any screen in my house, not just for gaming, but also for productivity and listening to music. I can even take my tablet into the backyard and continue coding in the sun, with a bluetooth keyboard. However, I did have to write a script to disable windows mouse acceleration upon connection, which defaults to enabled (nvidia bug?).
I prefer this app to any other when streaming my pc to my android devices. Input latency is by far the lowest of many apps I've tried. I use this so frequintly that I wouldn't mind paying for the app. My only wish is that I could connect directly to my desktop instead of opening a game first. However, a few games can be closed out and I can then roam my pc freely. I highly recomend this for anyone that wants to take a game throughout the home instead of sitting at a desk. 5 Stars
By far the best app to play from your Android Devices, i have some problems with some keyboard keys like <, ˆ or other kind of accentuations and special simbols, to the people complaying about having to open a game you can use the windows remote desktop executable service to control your whole PC. Also it would be awesome if a "keyboard key combination capture" could be added, if i ALT+TAB while using moonlight it would change to other app on my android device instead of changing the PC program.
So, is anybody going to talk about the fact that Moonlight on Android is totally broken and has been for about a year or more? Up until a certain version of GeForce Experience, everything was PERFECT. Now...video feed completely locks up until you quit stream and open again. This DESTROYS certain online games like Gang Beasts. It drops the gamepad and after reconnecting, you no longer have control of the character. This is shameful. Sunshine Service as alternative fixes but without all features
@ Ater Morrell, you CAN just connect to your desktop without a game. Just add mstsc.exe to your list of games under GeForce Experience on the host computer. It's in the System32 folder. | @ Emmett Holland there IS an on-screen keyboard, you tap with 3 fingers to activate your device keyboard, and either back out or tap again with 3 fingers to close it. | People should really look at the FAQ and website before bringing up non-existent issues in their reviews
Doesn't work. Enabled GameStream, added Hellblade (a listed supported game), launched Moonlight and the game, and nothing happened. Tried launching the game from within the GeForce Experience app and it just opened the Steam page for the game. I have it on GOG, not Steam... Won't connect to the PC manually either.
It's only good if you play controller My mouse feels fast and mouse acceleration gets turned on. Can't I just get raw Input? I don't want to have to change my game sensitivity settings.
No delay, almost have no lags, a quality visual from pc to android. No stutters and my gameplay and relaxation improves. Thank you! I love this app, best discovery of my life.
Awesome!!!!! App best lan streaming. Just one thing please improve the ui of on screen controls they're not soo good and add floating L and R joysticks.
This app is a must have for any PC player! I can connect my Pixel 6 pro with a controller and enjoy a PC experience anywhere in my house.
Unfortunately lots of issues with controller support. Nvidia gamestream worked with the same setup. After a whole bunch of troubleshooting had to uninstall this.
Everything except for one thing, is great. That one thing is touch input. Can you guys put in a legit touch control system something like in pubg mobile etc?
my controller always forcibly disconnects after playing for a few minutes. Please fix it.
Absolutely fantastic app! I've been using it it the past year and it definitely the best option to streat games at the moment. The only thing in my opinion that might make your experience rather average is the device you are using to stream. Lower end smart phones and tablets will struggle to produce low latency streaming due to hardware limitations. At the moment there are very few devices capable of low decoding times. Your experience will be best if sub 10ms latency is achieved.
Works well. But currently On-screen gamepad analog stick, or any gamepad button, takes priority over touch screen inputs. I can use touch for camera movements + analog for moving in a game, but i can't do analog + touch. The analog cancels touch input when used first. An option to allow use of both simultaneously would be great to be able to play games like mobile games without gamepad. It's the best gameplay style imo.
Free, open source, ad-free and it works beautifully. Absolutely brilliant!
Works great, but not having support for on screen keyboard/mouse is pretty annoying. Can't really play games like World of Warcraft. I can get to the auction house one step at a time by holding the screen with one finger and tapping with the other, but I can't put things up for sale since I can't type the price, and I certainly can't go fight anything. If this were added, 5 stars easy. Add TeamViewer to your PC in case you get connection issues. You can restart the PC. Dont shut off gamestream!
I am very aware that you, as developers are limited in terms of manipulating Nvidia Shield streaming, but it shouldn't be too hard to add customisable gyroscope support, eneble an option to remove the RS in exchange of a 'drag to aim' function and make buttons resizable and appropriately shaped. I would be happy to pay for these features if you make them available through an in-app purchase, and I know that I am not the only one. What you guys have done is very impressive, keep it up!
Totally love it, I use it all the time when going to the kitchen or the bathroom and need to do something on my desktop PC, also gaming is great, very customizable settings, lowest latency of all the programs I've tested (Parsec, Steam, etc) at least on my home network, haven't tried out of home yet but so far so good! Hope it keeps improving even more.
Amazing app. Been using this for years and it gets better every few months. It is so good now that there is little that can be improved. It is perfect so long as you are using a gamepad. I hear the on screen controls could be better with an option to scale the button sizes. If you implemented keyboard input from your phone's osk along with the ability to zoom in and out of the desktop, this would not only be the best game streaming app, but also the best remote desktop client!
Fast, stable, and most importantly, it just works. If your PC has an NVIDIA GPU, and you've got a gamepad for your phone, that's all you need to play your PC games over the network. There's negligible latency on fast networks*, and you can even connect your device to a TV for a console-like experience! If you're willing to forward a few ports on your router, you can play anywhere in the world too. *For the best experience, plug PC into Ethernet, and for the client, use 5 GHz Wi-Fi or LTE/5G.
I always get screen flickering when I try to launch any game (just in the moonlight app though, not via other streaming services or the computer itself). Would love to get some help here cause otherwise it's the best streaming service there is hands down. It's extremely fast and (not speaking of the issue above) reliable. There's basically no competion. I tried several other services and this is the most stable BY FAR!
Would be nice if you could customize the touchscreen control. As it is its very basic and unpolished. Id like to be able to use two fingers to use the scroll wheel, double tap to click and hold ect. There is no right click hold. Its very rough trying to use it for mouse games. I got it for the sims4 which was a very stressful experience. It works though which is a plus I guess. Its more of a tease of what it could be but isnt.
this is a great app, its performance is far better than trying to use remote desktop to stream games. i do get times where the connection freezes for a few seconds, but thats probably just because im using an older device. the performance is actually very supprising as im able to get 720p at 30fps with no real issues aside from the aforementioned occasional stutter.
Once you figure out how to set it up this app works perfectly. Was able to link it to my desktop and stream any game and even access software from my desktop. It's pretty much remote access for your computer but it only works within your internal network. I tested it with final fantasy 15 on my desktop and I could not see any latency.
It's pretty great. You devs are not only skilled, but also very kind to make this free and open source. I wouldn't mind seeing the touch controls more developed, closer to what windows tablets use (swipe to scroll, long-press to right click, long-press-swipe to click and drag). It's practically perfect already, so the only way I know to improve it is to add more touch controls. At that point, it would be like I sideloaded Win10 on my device.
Excellent app. I have a wireless N router but experience no issues on 5GHz for local or remote. The remote helper tool on PC is awesome as well as it configures firewall automatically to work with remote streaming. Far better quality and less stuttering than the Steam Link app for me. I've been forcing h265 which allows me to go up to 1080p60 at a modest bitrate. My only dislike or suggestion is to add an on-screen keyboard, its so necessary. Using Windows on-screen keyboard as a workaround.
Works really well! This is by far the most lagless option for local streaming. The only problem is to play game pass games...it is possible to launch them but controller isn't supported (on the shield TV at least). Works flawlessly with other games launchers though. Edit = removed just 1 star because if the connection stutters, the service just gives up and eject you within seconds. That's with a 400mbps connection. But when it happens, it's fast and easy to get right back in.
