no year to date data. it would be nice to have this data in Android app. this is in ios app
Does not work on my Samsung tab2
Application won't open
As a long time premium member I expect better from Morningstar. The functionality of this app is horrendous. It lags like crazy and takes forever to load. Also the design needs a major overhaul. Its very cumbersome to navigate through. I hope you guys fix this especially since the majority of platforms being used today are smartphones and tablets.
Now trying app on a Nexus 6P with 7.0 .... still too limited in functionality and with a poorly designed UI, and not updated since Mar2015. So once again uninstalled it and returned to accessing M* via a browser. M* IT continues to show great incompetence here just as they do in their web site.
This app is far too sluggish to even use. Go use Yahoo Finance Portfolio instead and see the difference. If Morningstar can't make an app up to basic standards, like the content dragging smoothly with your finger without a 1 second delay, then they shouldn't offer an app. You should be embarrassed to offer this to you customers. It's not an error, it's just bad programming or optimization of a service Morningstar doesn't care about. The only decent use of Morningstar is on a browser.
The app provides only a small amount of information on a given equity as opposed to the full site. Somehow, it is less usable than their mobile site.
Not as many crashes as old version. Total value by holding now displayed. No landscape view is a drawback especially because of bigger type. Sort by desired field changing back to ticker order each time you change a portfolio or go to a different area and return is a pain. 8/19/15 - WHEN will you fix the sort problem? Your reply months ago said you were aware and working on it. Search - would be nice to be able to delete tickers from search. Update 12/19/17 - Now stocks not covered by Morningstar don't even give the basic information that was available in the previous app versions and on the desktop. If a stock is not ranked by a Morningstar analyst, it gets a blank screen with the top boxes only. So one can touch the news box and get some news but can't even get price, pe, dividend, etc. Another big drawback added to the previous reviews, none of which have been fixed.
Please fire whoever is responsible for this and move on... How can you have a review page full of people saying they can't do the one thing they need to do (see their portfolios) and just ignore the issue? I'm apparently logged in and I definitely dont see this "snapshot" option anywhere. If you think this is acceptable in 2015, you're mistaken. M* canada user, btw.
Maybe it's the interface, but I couldn't figure how to access the "tabs" from the non-mobile version: Performance, Risk Return, Management, etc. Useless for me. :-( I TOTALLY agree! It's a waste of time for me. I get all of the functionality I want by just accessing the web page directly from a browser. Why would anyone use this app? Junk!
This app is terrible. As a premium member I cannot link it to my account and see my portfolios. It's also clunky and slow. Suggesting to Morningstar, rebuild this app.
Dropped my Pro membership. It's not a very user friendly app. Too much scrolling required to see what's important.
Since the last update I'm unable to add new holdings to a portfolio using this app. Alternatively, I add stocks via Morningstar web site using a browser.
The app doesn't let me sign in anymore. I can't access any news or commentary without signing in so the app is useless
Switched from a Galaxy S8+ to a Galaxy S10+ and now I get a message that the app has been retired. Called Morningstar and they said it was retired because there are not that many android users? Huh? As a premium user for years I really feel screwed by Morningstar. I thought they were a class organization but I was wrong. They don't care about their users (at least those on android).
Crashes every several days. Morningstar is a great company but this app is not impressive. Not a good showcase for Morningstar.
For some reason, this app limit your viewing experience if you are outside the US, even when viewing US stocks. Site doesn't do that, not sure why the app does. Also, like others said it is slow. Too bad, as their site is one of the best for research
Cannot search all tickets e.g. XIC, VCN, ZCN and more. As soon as you put & there is an error warning. And many other glitches
I love Morningstar, but I have not been able to sign in for over a month. I have had this app for years and not had a problem until recently. I enjoy checking my portfolio several times throughout the day, but have been unable to do so recently.
I could access my watch list until last week. Now i can't. When I enter my M* logon the logon page just sits there and nothing happens.
Very difficult to navigate. Requires premium membership to get research. Have spent past half hour looking how to be a premium member. Have given up
This app is junk. I've paid for this service for many years but I'm dropping it. Website is bloated with ads (with paid service). Watch lists and portfolio don't work on the app. Junk.
Data is good, but I can't figure out how to edit things like shares held.
app is actually regressing from its former useful operations. I can still look at the current state of my portfolios, but research is impossible. premium membership will not be worth renewing if Morningstar is only useful at my desktop. I have a samsung s8 and it says the app is up to date on updates.
