Very good app for getting to grips with the basics of morse code. It could be better when sending morse code. Tapping the screen, it seems that the threshold between long and short is set exactly at the correct length for a long tone for the speed setting. You need to set a higher speed than you intend to send to get some margin of error. An other issue is that the app does not care how long your pauses are. You can send with bad rytm, as long as the order of long and short tones is correct
The app is full of features & makes learning easy. However, the Incorrect dialog that appears on a wrong answer is downright annoying. Sometimes it's dismissable by tapping on it, sometimes it's not. I can't discern the logic, and the way that the dialog behaves makes it frustrating to practice. Were it not for this, I'd give the app 5 stars.
I was so impressed I bought it! Then it worked differently! Why did you change it from a simple touch screen to having the dots on one side and the dashes on the other! I thought the original idea fitted better for someone learning to use a single keying device, as they would if they were actually sending Morse over the airwaves. .AIRWAVES. .-. .--. My initials! Thank you it wasn't as obvious as I was expecting. I thought the settings symbol would have given me the option, but now I am happy!
I've always been intimidated to study the morse code, but this app makes learning very fun. I really like it, perhaps my only complaint is that some letters appear too often. It showed the letter E more than 50 times already, and I haven't seen yet the other letters like Z or X. It's a little hard to memorize the "uncommon" letters because they take so long to reappear.
Love it! learning really fast. I like how I can select individual letters symbols etc. *Would like a mode where you do similar letters in sequence. Like N and A are the same just flipped.* **In guess the letter and code there should be a toggle audio option in the corner Morse code is in itself phonetic.** the premium edition of $3 is worth it. That's less then a specialty drink at a coffee place. Thank you!
I chose to pay for this APP because it has the 'Recognize Words' feature. I was told by HAM ops that the best way to continue learning (after you know the alphabet completely and have practiced) to start learning words at 20-25wpm. This feature allows you to write or keyboard down letters as they come in with morse and choose your speed in the settings. I actually had to start at 17wpm and this specific feature has helped ENORMOUS amounts.
Noticed an issue. After used this app "[email protected]" is kept awaken and drain battery power. Only a system restart can settle that situation for my case. It is maybe an OS issue, 9(pie) on Pixel 3, but please check if it can be fixed by application side. Thanks!
nice app to learn morse code. a few featyre requests to make it even better : 1. option to turn off hints during learning. morse code is a language of sounds and learning the dot/dash pattern slows down tge user by creating a mental lookup table 2.fade in and fade out morse code tone to avoid annoying clicking or thumping sound at the end of each element 3. add mode to learn common words and q-codes;this allows the user to get trained to recognise common words for "head" copying code
This is great. I got my 12wpm HAM ticket over 10 years ago but never really used CW. Ive been using this to refresh. You do have to be a tad slower and precise when sending via screen tapping, other than that i cant fault it.
Tried free version and was learning morse during lul life moments so decided to get serious. Spend most time on 'Recognize Sound letters' new 'Recognize Sound letters' option goes to fast for me. I like 'Words' as can practice at my pace and is a confidence booster that I know the letters, I am just slow.
I loved the free version, so getting premium was a no-brainer! New features, no ads, same experience! Best morse code app on the market!
Great app but you need to review the screen sensitivity and most importantly, THE VOLUME!!! Can barely hear the dits and dahs unless it's a very silent room.
Can you please add a quick sound replay button so that one does not have to go into the menu? Otherwise super app, really handful to learn morse.
I like that it's not just ad free but it has additional functionality. It would be nice if the developer added Qcodes too
This is a really well designed and easy to use app to learn morse code. The game modes are tons of fun, 5 stars from me.
Very impressed with the app so far. None of the other learn morse apps really resonated with me (hihi), but this app does. Good work dev!
I have been looking for a comprehensive app like this. This is awesome! Thank you.
The "U" in Letter Statistics is missing parts of its code on my screen.
A very helpful resource. Thanks Dev
A very thoughtful creation. Good to see such apps exist. 👍🏻
Great app for learning morse
Best Morse Code app on market !
ads are aids
Why does it sometimes make this extremely annoying crackling sound, as if I was listening to a radio in the middle of nowhere? An option to turn it off would be more than welcome. The stats are also very lacking, more info would be useful. (error rate over time, per letter...) Also: there's a sound lag when inputing morse code to translate a word, and short sounds aren't played.
