Few errors when clean audio and correct levels are used. Works great off SDR receivers around country and placed near my computer speaker. Allows me to participate in QSOs with faster ops while I continue to learn the code.
Just like Jacek says, this app is picky about the Morse Code source volume, mic placement, and really even speed. I find that it works best on loud, clear, 20wpm CW. I'm an Advanced Class Ham Radio Operator, and I've used this app extensively to transcribe CW from a keyer that generates random CW practice. This app keeps enough of a transmission stored to permit me to copy about 45 minutes of practice to a text file for later use. Great job, Jacek. BTW - I use this app on a Samsung Galaxy Tab S with Android 6.0.1, and a Samsung Galaxy J3 (smart phone) running Android 8.0.0.
Very nice decoder and the graph makes copying weak signals easy. I wish you could set the noise level manually but the auto level does a great job of following the noise versus signal levels. Thankyou for the great program as my code skills have gotten poor.
I'm an amateur radio operator and I was under the impression that you could translate CW code into text. It doesn't do what the Developers said it would do! It has no user settings, and it just runs and shows letters and a graph. No sound, no nothing! I'm uninstalling the app!😠📡
It's as best as it can be. It only stumbles when speed varies. If you want it detect nuances then you need AI or a human brain to also detect variances. Plus don't complain it's free.
If it had a way to set the level it would work great. But the level drops to noise level and shows text when there isnt any CW being received thus giving false characters. Needs work!
Needs a speed control. Seems only to be effective up to about 6 wpm. Format is clean, legible. If it could read faster, say, up to 15 wpm, it would be more useful.
Works surprisingly well. The only issue I have found is that it sometimes misses a word space, even if deliberately made too long.
Worked perfectly thanks! Could you add a slider to set the sound level manually, sometimes makes mistakes on a fuzzy ham
Just loaded it on my Pixel 4 XL with Android 12 and even though it gives me a little warning about the older operating system it was designed for it works quite well.
clean signal but no consistent translation. no settings, no apparent way to tune sensitivity.
Works great as long as sender is clean and precise with cw. Good app. Have it on my tablet and phone.
Only gives out letter E every single tap. Maybe it worked in a distant past on old Android devices? Not working in 2019.
Wow! So far, this app has copied the W1AW practice code files up to 40 wpm perfectly! This is the best app that I have tried yet!
It does what it is supposed to. Ease of use, real time transalating in a wery fast time. I just love it!
Had it now for a few years and Walrus works very well on good strong signals. Compliments to the writer of this app.
This is an excellent app. None is as good as human brain, but this is best app I have seen. Operation is self-evident.
It likes good cw first - but remarkably copies well - recommend it as a nice accessory for catchall when you are not writing down..
works well, I cant read morse but now reading messages from Finland and Spain, all in five minutes ! Thank you..
Does an excellent job decoding clear and well-formed Morse code audio (quite a feat!). Well done Jacek.
Love this app. the only one I've found that does a great job at decoding CW!
Not worth using on a relatively new device. Needs an update, clearly.
Speed detection not accurate, No Control or preferences.
It translates everything into a series of ease, I even tried typing SOS with a morse code thing and it just said e e e e e e e e
Surprisingly accurate and simple to use
A little bugy but its right most of the time.
doesn't really work that good I tried a bunch of different tones but nothing was really working
Worked great! Sensitive to background noise. We had a spirit coming through one of our spirit boxes, talking in morse code, and thanks to this app, we were able to get some pretty intelligent responses. Granted the background noise was an issue, we still were able to pick up what they were trying to say.
